This is a great flat iron. I have used others such as the Superstar and the Chi, and this iron is just as good if not better. After using it my hair is as straight as can be and stays that way no matter what the weather is like outside. My hair still looks healthy and feels great. I highly reccommend...especially with the great price!

when i first got my sedu straightener i LOVED it! It works great on my hair, and i have really curly hair that frizzes all the time. The sedu stopped all of my frizzies and also straightened my hair really fast. My friend loved it also and wanted to buy one sooooo bad. But the first one i bought only worked for about a week and then the green light wouldnt come on anymore, and it wouldnt get hot. So i took it back and exchanged it for another one thinking that i must have got a bad one. So the second one i got worked longer than a week, but about 3-4 months later it too quit working for no reason. i took really good care of it so i dont know what went wrong. Its ridiculous to spend that much money on a product for it only to work for a few months. I cant even take this one back because my mom threw out the box, so now i have to go buy another one. what a waste of money!

First of all, I have very curly hair that is normally very frizzy. I have owned several irons including a Chi. They all straightened relatively well but as soon as I was around any sort of humidity my hair would frizz again. I bought this flat iron after my Chi broke (I had it two years) along with the One and Only chemical hair straightner. I used the One and Only which works with great results, then used my Sedu followed by Biolage conditioner for course, thick hair. Wow, I used to have bad hair days even after using my Chi but not with the Sedu. It is very lightweight, has a heat setting, a long cord, and has never pulled my hair. The only thing I wish they would improve is to extend the end of the iron so I can help guide it with both hands without burning myself. Finally, it used to take an hour to blow dry my hair and straighten it (shoulder length hair) but not only takes 30 minutes if that and I only have to go over it once. This is the best flat iron I have owned.

OMG.
I have owned a few other irons in the past and wrote them all off due to damage inflicted on my hair.
I hesitated for more than 6 years, and delayed buying a quality straightening tool. I was scarred and the trauma my hair suffered led me to believe that my hair and thermal straightening was a no no.
Okay, I finally took the plunge and bought this iron. The 20 bucks off and free gift helped; but the 2 year warranty sealed the deal. It arrived super fast...3 days isn't that fantastic!!!
Okay, I look at it as I feel knots developing in my stomach; I get flashbacks of what my hair looked like after all the other irons. I pluged it in and fired it up but did not have the courage to put it in my hair. It took me 6 years to regrow the hair I cut off from thermal damage. I unplug it allow it to cool and return it to the box.
2 days later, I gave the shortie a dry run and OMG, I love it. The next day I washed and condition my hair. I air dry it and then get to work with Sedu.
WHAT THE HECK!!!! This is an awesome piece of equipment and I am in love with it. The iron itself is ultra light weight and very comfortable to hold and work with. My hair is about 14 to 16 inches long each strand and this iron is so plesant to use. My whole head was done with 1-2 passes 360 degrees in 45 minutes flat (I kept stopping to admire the result between sections LOL). The hair was soft, had great movement. The body and shine was unbelievable. I called my husband in to see the transformation comparing Sedu side to air dried side. It actually left my hair in better condition. I am still in disbelief and can not stop touching the hair!!!
Worth every dime and will buy again if quality remains like this. I can not believe all I missed out on.
I absolutely love this Sedu.

A few months ago I dropped and broke my hair straitner and purchased this sedu iron to replace it. It is nice looking, a decent weight, and mine came with a free stand that has come very much in handy for not burning my counter top. It does an okay job. I have extremely thick hair and most hair straitners don't work for me. Ive never used heat protector on my hair before but it it fried my hair so bad I had to cut 3 inches off my ends. But I turned the temp down to 400 and use a heat protect spray that has helped a ton. Also the only other negative I can think about it is that the handle gets so incredibly hot when straitning your hair that I actually had to start wearing gloves it hurt so bad. You could get a better straitner for a little less money Solia jusst gets glorified quite a bit. Its not that great though but its your call just make sure you do use a heat protector!! It doesn't make your hair in better condition like it claims!
Needs swivel cord!!!

I just purchased this flat iron. It works well at straightening my hair. My hair was really shiny. Plates are smooth, no pulling of my hair. The only problem is the cord is not a swivel cord so doing flip up styles or trying to get a good round curl is difficult. I am going to return this flat iron and try the Solia brand.

AHHHHHHH NOOO.
it is SUCH a good straightener...one has to get used to the lightness but overall, it's smooth and leaves my hair looking naturally straight.
i LOVEE my sedu, but it stopped working after like five months...HELP!!! i threw my other (broken) straightener out, and i don't want to go to school looking like a monster! i'm not sure how fast it ships, either. i read one other review where someone replaced the plug on the iron? how does that work??

A little worried about it having never purchased and expensive flat iron be for, but it is amazing its feels well built and has a heavy duty cord, heats up super fast and straightens my hair in record time...also I am half black half dominican and heavy very curly thick hair, so if your worried about it not working on your hair have no fear sedu makes a great product

Words cannot simply descibe how much i am in love with this flat iron!
I have naturally curly hair that I prefer to wear straight most of the time and I have used any and all hair products and styling tools throughout the years....always searching for the next best thing to make my hair look and stay beautiful...
I NO LONGER HAVE LOOK ANY FURTHER!!!OMG!!! i wish i would have come across this product sooner. and I sure would have paid more than just $115!

Best straightener I have ever used. It used to take me about 40-50 minutes to straighten my hair, and even then it looked horrible and would pull out my hair.
One day I decided to use my birthday money and finally get a good straightener. I did lots of research and realized that Sedu would be the best one. I got it, and boy, it is truly amazing.
What used to take me almost an hour takes me 10-15 minutes at the MOST now. It leaves it straightened for the whole day, and it makes it look shiny and healthy as well.
With my old straightener I used to have to go over the same part of hair a ton of times to keep it straightened. With this straightener, if I go over it slowly just once it stays straightened.
I completely recommend this straightener. It is the smartest choice I've made according to tools for my hair in a long while. I will never buy another straightener!

This is the BEST product ever. If it broke tomorow, I would buy another one. Profesional quality!!! My hair is SO soft, is NOT frizzy and is super straight. All in 15 mins! If you're looking for a GooD iron, this is da one :)

I had used a CHI iron before and it worked for a lil while then my hair was dull looking. I decided it was time to buy a new one, when I saw the SEDU and the reviews I decided to buy it and it was the best thing I have ever spent my money on!! It leaves my hair silky, soft, and bouncy. And I have thick wavy hair that frizzes up easy but it doesnt frizz up thanks to the SEDU! I recommend it to everyone!!

I bought this straightener about 9 months ago. I did not want to leave a review then because I figured like most flat irons, after a few months I would need to replace it. However I was wrong because my Sedu still works almost as good as it did when I first got it! I have very very very thick curly and frizzy hair and it only takes me, at the absolute most, 30 minutes to have straight and shiny hair! I would deff. recommend this to people with hard to handle hair!

I am a hairdresser and decided to buy a Sedu after I had purchased a CHI. When I first got it, it was great. After about 5 or 6 months, the cord was loosing contact and it would short out. I sent it back and they sent me one that did the exact same thing. I returned it and they sent me another new one and it lasted about 6 months and it went out. I was not using this in my shop, just for me and my daughter. I would have thought that out of 3 different irons, at least one of them would have lasted at least a year. For the price you pay, there is to much of a chance of this iron going out on you. Do not buy if you do not want to throw your money away.

I have very curly hair and it's very difficult to manage. I have always stuggled with flat irons because they can't ger rid of the friz in my bangs. This iron straighten it in one shot. I will never use another brand again.

well i got my sedu 1 1/2 inch yesterday and tried it out.
It was absolutly amazing. It made my hair straighter then when i got it done in salons. It didn't take long, about 45 minutes for my hair. I have very curly, frizzy poofy hair. And a lot of it. The flat iron wasn't heavy.

I have never spent more than $50 on a straightner, but boy am I glad I did. The Sedu is simply the best!!!! I get so many compliments on how beautiful my hair looks and how straight it is. My hair is thick and I have always had a hard time getting it stick straight, but not no more. And plus it really makes your hair look shiny and is less damaging than most straightners out there. Hey if Jennifer Aniston has been using it for years you can't go wrong with the Sedu. Make sure you get the heat proof holder it makes the process easier.
2 1/2 yrs and still going strong!!

I love my Sedu flat iron! Ive had it for 2 and a half years and it is still in great shape and my hair is so much healthier then when I was using the walmart straighteners. I used to just put it in a ponytail because nothing would work...until I found the Sedu! Honestly, if you care about your hair then this is worth ever cent!!

So I wanted a decent hair straightener and so I looked into the CHI and I realized that all the reviews were horrible. I then read that most people that started with CHI ended up ordering a SEDU and when I noticed all of the positive feedback, I just had to have one. I just ordered my product on Wednesday and the new semester starts Monday and of course I have to look good on campus, so I went ahead and placed the order for the 1-2 day shipping, thinking that I would get it Saturday or Monday at the latest. I placed my order, and bam - even with this 6-12 inch snow storm going on in Ohio, I had my straightener today (FRIDAY) and already was able to use this product. Sure I paid extra for the shipping, but I only did it so maybe it would get here within the next week. Folica was really on the ball and the product works great. If you order now you also get the free mini and warranty as well as heat protection spray. I'm overly please and impressed. I would reccomend this product from this site.
