I used this on my un relaxed freshly blowdried but still frizzy hair and it worked a miracle. Usually I need to flat iron twice before it looks straight however with this flat iron at a setting of 180 it did the job with one try. I left the house and did not get frizzy once I walked out the door. This thing gets really hot--I would recommend not going above 180 and even at that temp test a piece of hair first without holding it on the ends too long! Definitly worth the money!! I would only use this after a wash not every day. This worked better on my hair than the Chi Turbo ceramic flat iron!

I am extremely happy i bought my first Sedu Ionic Ceramic Professional Flat Iron... Before this product i had the CHI iron which is also great... But nothing compares to the miracles that this iron does to my hair... Without having to blow-dry my hair prior to using the iron and everything... it is AWESOME!!! I have wavy hair... i just let it air dry... and VWALA!!!! the iron makes it as straight as straight can get. I recommend this product to anyone that wants their hair to look nothing less then perfect!!!

This hair iron is AMAZING its so great, i have really fine hair but also a lot of hair and this thing does the trick for real guys... it makes the CHI line of irons look like crap, the SEDU lasts so much longer and doesnt pull your hair out... its GREAT buy it NOW!

This is the fifth flat iron, including the Chi, I have purchased in my quest to tame my thick, coarse, wavy hair. It is by far the best. It is not only the most comfortable, lightest and therefore easiest to use, but it leaves my hair smooth and feeling in better condition than when I started. It lives up to its reputation in my opinion. Can't wait to show it to my hairdresser.

I bought the sedu straightener and it works better than all the other ones of owned.
I have short thin hair but its really frizzy and curly. On humid days, this STILL kept my hair straight. This is a wonderful product and i DEFINITELY recommend you all to buy this, for all hair types, just use it as intructions are told! It's great so if your looking for the perfect straightener, here it is! Better than CHI, SUPERSTAR, TCP, and FHI! ive had them all! this is the best...!

This is the best flat iron out there. I have owned the Hai and Chi and this is far better.I've NEVER seen my hair look and feel this good with so little effort. I am not exaggerating, this is an awesome iron!!!!!

This is a great flat iron. I have used others such as the Superstar and the Chi, and this iron is just as good if not better. After using it my hair is as straight as can be and stays that way no matter what the weather is like outside. My hair still looks healthy and feels great. I highly reccommend...especially with the great price!

the sedu flat iron did not work for me i have short extremely thick hair.spent alot of money on different brands of flat irons.cannot find a brand leaving my hair as if i just left the salon . help!

For a straightener it's very good not for curling. But I have really really coarse thick, curly hair and it really feels like i just blow dried it. I don't like my ends so I have to get a curling iron to flip them in. But overall I believe if it can straighten my thick hispanic hair it can straighten any hair. I used mine at 390 degrees. If any one is hesitant I would say buy it. But don't expect a miracle. It took me a long time but I think it's because it was my first time. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. Good luck to those who are looking for the perfect straightener. This is the closest I think it gets. : )

I bought this December of 07 and I love it. =) I was really nervous at first because it was my first straightener, and I was unsure on spending such a large amount.. especially after reading some of the negative feedback about how it died in just a few months.. It's nearly September of '08 and it's still working as new. =) I have thick hair and it takes me about.. maybe 10 minutes to straighten my hair, 15 at the most which is rare.

All I can say is that I have bought MANY flat irons, but not one of them can top the Sedu! It's the best of the best!!!!! Worth every penny!!!!

I love this flat iron!!! This is the third iron I have owned and by far the best. It is very lightweight and the perfect width (1 1/2) since my hair is past shoulder length. It heats very quickly and glides so smoothly through my hair. It only took minutes to have perfect straight hair. The shipping was also awesome - only two days to receive it!

I have had my Sedu for a little over 3 years now and it still works great! I use it almost daily. I can't believe it's lasted this long. My favorite thing about this straightener is that it does not pull or break your hair. I got on here to look for a 1" because I just cut my hair off and the 1 1/2" is a little too big. I was looking at a Chi, but after reading those reviews, I will stick with the Sedu.

i've had this straightener for a little over a year now, and for the most part it worked fine. however, compared to the chi straightener, it doesn't straighten as well and doesn't get that hot either. all around it's a good straightener but not like the best straightener ever. for a hundred bucks i don't think it's worth it.
so after a year, mine broke.. it just won't turn on and the warranty is up, so i have to find a new straightener. this past year i took great care of it and handled with gentle care, so i'm pretty bummed.
i will admit it never tugged my hair or gave me too many split ends, but it doesn't straighten as good as some of the others, but i guess that's a good trade off.....

I have been straightening my hair for 7 years. I've tried about EVERYTHING. From those cheap straighteners at Walmart to Chi's. I thought Chi was the best until a year passed and it died. I did my research and asked for the Sedu for Christmas. When I tried it out, it was soo much better than the Chi. It felt really cheap but when I used it, it was great! It's so much lighter then the Chi and therefor makes it easier to straighten my hair. My hair is VERY thick and curly and takes 1 hour to straighten with the Sedu. The Chi took 2 1/2 hours.

This is by far my favorite straightener that i have ever used...i own a Chi and it doesnt even compare to the Sedu. However...I have owned 2 Sedu's and both times the cord shorted out after less than 6 months. To me, that is not worth the money i paid. I love the straightener and would consider ordering it again if I knew that i wouldnt need a new one after 5 months. I have thick hair that is curly/wavy and it really works great. Too bad it doesnt last.

umm i think this iron is better on dark, courser hair.
i was disappointed with my own results compared to the reviews here..
i think i should've gotten a CHI, because my hair isn't even that soft or shiny compared to my old straightener. on the other hand, my hair's pretty dang straight and it does feel healthy. i just don't think it's as good as the hype on this site makes it out to be.

This is my first time splurging on a hair tool, after reading the reviews I felt like making the risk and getting the Sedu flat-iron. Now, I have long hair (all the way down to the end of my back) and it's curly, and without intensive use of hair products it's VERY FRIZZY. I had given up on straightening my hair on regular basis and left doing that for special occasions when I wanted to impress and what not. It would take me 3-4 HOURS straightening my hair (not exaggerating!) because I have to blow dry-it straight (layer by layer) and then go over it with a flat iron (also layer by layer) and my hair is thick too, so you can imagine how many layers I have to go over. By the time I'm done, I seriously go lay down because I get so tired of standing and having my arms up in the air for so long. Anyway, I considered this flat-iron an experiment, so I took a shower, dried my hair with a towel (THE ENEMY OF CURLY HAIR!), put a quarter size amount of anti-frizz polishing milk (only because I wanted to protect my hair from the heat..not to smooth it!), and I let my hair AIR-DRY to let it get as frizzy as possible. Once it was dry, I turned on the flat-iron and went upstairs to grab a hair brush, I came down, looked at it and was shocked that it was ALREADY HOT! (it was like 20 seconds..and I had it on about 370 degrees!!!). Then I began to straighten my hair as I normally do it, small sections and layer by layer. IT SERIOUSLY TOOK ME 45 MINUTES (it would literally be less than 40 minutes..if you take out the time I took separating my hair and brushing the hair sections in between and all that!). I am IN COMPLETE DISBELIEF..it took me 40 MINUTES TO STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR, and I say it STRAIGHTENED, I mean it was PIN-STRAIGHT, and SUPER-SHINY too!!!!!!..I looooooove this iron it has done a miracle for me tonight. I had to go over each hair section only once to straighten it, and my hair didn't get caught between the plates or any of that, it was a BREEZE!!!. I will so say good-bye to the old days when I had to literally SCHEDULE A DAY for straightening my hair. Now I can show off my long, thick, black hair whenever I want. BUY THIS IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY OF THE $115!!!!
