The sedu was the bes thing that i have invested in for my hair in years, I dont have to put anything in my hair on order for it to look silky and soft. for the short time that i had it i was so happy with the results of my hair every time i used it. I am sad to say that I dont have my sedu any more it had a little accident (some one steped on it)I will be replasing my broken sedu.

When i first got the sedu, i was like 'wow, this is a far cry from my Conair Ceramic iron!' The Sedu definitely lived up to its reviews. I got home from school and found it waiting for me--as promised by folica--and immediately tore the box open and straigtened my hair. It took me all of 10 minutes to do my wild hair that would normally take me 45minutes to do. Thank you Sedu, for making an awesome product Now I can style myhair at home without going to my hairdresser. This is definitely a worthwhile investment!!!1

What an awesome iron! Great service too! I have tried other irons such as the chi and FHI however this iron is completely different. It slides through the hair leaving it smooth, silky and humidity proof. I live in Florida and there's nothing more humid than that. I don't even need the bio-ionic process on my hair. This is the best iron!!!!

i think i only saw one other review in which someone's sedu stopped working so i'm here to add another. i still rated the sedu as above average because i LOVE LOVE LOVE the way it works. i bought mine in feb 2005 when the price was only around $105 (if you're thinking about buying buy asap bc the prices keep going up!!) last week i tried to turn on my sedu and the light wouldn't come on. when i felt around the plates i felt like a magnetic rxn but NO HEAT. i was pretty mad but i can't live without it so i called folica, ordered a new one which i got today and now i have to go through the hassle of shipping the broken one back. even thought it's not my fault that it broke i have to pay extra shipping costs to send the broken one back AND i have to shell out another hundred something and go through the hassle of them crediting it back once they get the item from me. i guess the one year warranty doesn't cover everything. i don't know if mine was a fluke or something but just a warning that mine DID stop working. another note: my new sedu has a revised plug for the outlet. i don't know if that has any significance. GOOD LUCK.

I was almost going to purchase a chi straightener from the internet when I happened to come accross this website and I read some of the reviews for the Sedu, and comparisons to the Chi. That definetly made up my mind that the Sedu would be the best choice. I was so happyy when it arrived at my door just 2 days later and it worked wonderfully on my frizzy wavy hair. I've paid up to $35 at the salon for someone else to straighten my hair, but now I can do it whenever I like, and it has already paid for itself. I'm definetly going to recommend this to everyone I know-Thanks!

I have purchase several flat irons in the past and nothing compares to how straight and silky my hair looks even the day after. My hair is very coarse, frizzy, and wavy. With the other flat irons I would have to iron my hair twice, and even then it looked puffy. Now people think I have straight hair. Best money ever spent.

I am not able to put my picture on here at the moment, however I just got the Sedu for my 22 birthday and I tried it out. It was excellent my hair is silky smooth and straight!! I have another cheapo flat iron but my hair never felt healthy after using it and it took forever to straighten. Now my hair feels healthy and looks great!! I know this is an expensive flat iron but it is worth it!! Another great flat iron is the one by Global Beauty!! If you do not want to spend 126.00 then check out Global Beauty!! It was my second choice!!

I completely love this straightener there's nothing bad I can say about it. Except I wish it came in a bigger size. It takes me half the time to straighten and it doesn't dry my hair out. I'm going to buy one for my sister.

Wow!! This flat iron cuts my straightening time in half and my hair fills a lot softer after then it did with the flat iron I used before. I like the size of this flat iron, it makes it a lot easier to get closer to my scalp. Cleaning this flat iron is also really easy.
Not the greatest, but certainly not bad.

The Sedu serves its purpose - it straightens your hair well and relatively fast. The adjustable heat knob is an excellent feature! It is the only thing, I think, that makes it better than the original CHI. The drawback to the Sedu is that it pulls on your hair a bit (it connects more at one end than the other) and also makes you go back over sections a couple times to get the exact effect your wanting whether it be super straight, a slight flip, etc. It does heat up very fast which is extremely convenient, and while the iron end is very hot (perhaps to hot to hold onto) I don't feel that it is necessary to get the look you are going for. I think I will keep this iron because it does pretty good and because the original CHI does not have adjustable heating and I'm afraid of damaging my hair in the long run. I'd also be leary of the CHI Turbo's (an employee at a JCPenny's salon advised me that its high heat {equivalent to the original CHI temp} tends to go out pretty quickly and the medium doesn't straighten her fine hair).

I cannot believe how wonderful my hair felt after I used it. It arrived at my door and like 2 min later I was turning it on and in like 10 min my hair was straight shiny and soft where as my old one I had to Squeeze really hard and go though my hair about 5 times each section. I am extremely pleased and will be purchasing my next hair tools from SEDU . <which will be very soon>

The good news is it is very light weight (best feature) and it has an on/off switch and you can control the heat, The cord is also very good on a swivel so it doesn't twist.
The things I don't like...I have very long, thick hair and it doesn't come any wider than 1 1/2"...I wish it was wider and longer so I could cover more hair faster. The other thing I don't like is there is no "cool" place to hold the end with your fingers...it is too hot to hold the end without burning your fingers...you have to get good at this one-handed.
It is definitely better than anything you can buy at the drugstores or discount stores...but I'm still looking for the perfect flat iron....if you know of one let me know!lucabela at mindspring . com

It's awesome!I've been using a curling iron for the past 8 yrs and I can do my whole head in about 10 min., but with the sedu flatiron....because the plate is so flush and it gets super hot, I get my whole head done in about 5. It's great, Ihope it stays that way.

I am sorry to say that the Chi flatiron is superior. I was inspired to try the Sedu by the mention of it being featured in Allure; however, I am very disappointed and wish that I can exchange it for the Farouk-CHI.

Well I have tried almost every flat iron that you can buy in a store and I just have always felt none of them did good enough for me. I tried this one and I don't believe it is perfect, mostly because I have VERY thick hair, but all in all it has made me feel the happiest I have ever felt about my hair! So so far so great :)!!

This hair iron is great and works really well for me. It gets super hot so that I don't have to pass through my hair too many times. The only complaint I have is that the plates are pretty small and many time my hair will fall out of the sides of it and I have to pass through again.

At first I was a little skeptical about spending so much money on an appliance, but trust me its worth every penny and more. I have hair that is unmanageable in the summer, I end up with a ponytail everyday, but not anymore. The SEDU allows me to have pin straight hair in just 10 minutes. With my old Target flat iron I was spending 30 minutes and not getting anywhere near as good of results.

I loved this iron like a child. it was so integral to my life... and i broght it abroad and i used a converter for wattage and everything... but it blew out and stopped working. so to use in england its a no go. now that im back in the states im iron-less and sad. so use abroad at ur own peril

Until now, I never realized I could straighten my hair WITHOUT it pulling the crap out of my hair. I can't say that it cuts my straightening time in half but my hair does look twice as good, twice as STRAIGHT and twice as smooth. I can straighten my hair at night and wake up and my hair will STILL BE STRAIGHT!!! This has NEVER happened before. This straightening iron is AMAZING!!! I will never use anything else again EVER!!!
