I have had crazy, frizzy, kinky-curly hair almost my entire life. Wearing my hair curly made me look like a freak show. My nickname in school (behind my back, of course) was Medusa. So, needless to say, I've been stuggling with straigtening my hair for a very long time.
First I bought a Babyliss Ionic hair dryer, and it did make a bit of a difference with the way my hair would straighten, and I didn't have to use as many hair products. However, go out on a misty morning or down by the beach and my hair would still instantly "poof."
I decided it was time to take the flat iron plunge. My husband and I were at the mall and there was a kiosk with a flat iron demo going on. It was for the Corioliss Digital 1" iron. The gentleman there used it on half of my hair, and my husband went crazy for the look, and had me buy one on the spot. Now, being that I like to consider myself an "informed" consumer, I wanted to make sure that this was the iitem I needed. I read up online quite a few reviews and it seemed as though after a very shot time, sometimes only days after purchase, the Corioliss would stop working properly and that the customer service was anything but helpful. So I read up on the Sedu and decided to purchase it that night and return the Corioliss. One thing about the Corioliss... it didn't heat up to the proper temp in mere seconds like stated, rather it took at least 6 minutes to heat entirely.
The Sedu is fantastic. It heats up in a minute, and the 1.5" plates cut down on the time needed to straigten my hair. I can go out without an umbrella in the mist, and I can go to the beach in the evening with the wind coming off of the water, and my hair is still smooth, straight, and silky.
I did have a little bit of breakage around my face, but some of it was old damage that the Sedu seemed to highlight (I had cowlick bangs for a little while). I also have fine hair, and just lowering the temp a bit from the highest seems to have stopped any new damage.
I no longer have to use my blow dryer, which means less prep time in the morning. Sometimes I do use it a little, but only to speed up the drying so I can flat iron my hair. No more tugging and pulling with a round brush while I sweat like crazy under the heat.
I love my Sedu and would recommend it to anyone who is sick and tired of struggling to straigten their hair with a dryer for 20+ mintues, only to have it ruined at the first sign of humidity.

I am very happy with my Sedu flat iron. It does an excellent job on straighting my hair. I would definitely recommend this product and it is worth the money.

My hair is naturally curly and frizz prone when the humidity gets high. Living in Texas, nothing has worked, until I tried this flat iron. I cannot believe how straight my hair remains in 95% humidity. It knocks off 15 minutes from my morning routine because you only need to go over your hair once. The Sedu is easy to use and heats up in minutes. It is definitely worth the money and I would recommend this product to anyone.

This product sells itself. With the humid climate here, I can flat iron my thick long hair in 15 minutes and it comes out feeling like silk!

I brought the Sedu after using it at my sister in law's house. I was a disbeliever until she told me to try it. I was so pleasantly surprise. My hair look sooo good, I decided I to purchase one right away. I have use it four times and it is fantastic. It has already paid for itself. It is best if you wash your hair the night before, put protective hair product in your hair, and then use the Sedu!!!

In the past I have always used a 2 and 1/4 inch straightener, so I was a little hesitant to by a 1 and 1/2 inch straightener. But, I have found that the Sedu works just as well on my thick hair as my larger HAI straightener did. However, though it boasts that its size allows the user the versatility to curl hair also, I have found it is a little too big to curl hair well. (I wanted it for straightening mainly though, so that was okay.) Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

This is such a hair straightener! Takes no time to heat up and is easy to use. It's so light and easy to carry around; a very easy travel companion. This is such a must-have for those bad hair days, even if your hair is straight, this thing is a godsend because you can do your hair in five minutes or less, depending on how much hair you have. I absolutely LOVE LOVE the Sedu. I did so much research before splurging on this one and it's worth every penny that I spent on it! And buy it from Folica because it's the best deal around with free (and fast) shipping too!

I have had many other flatirons including Chi and Hai and this is the most effective by far. I tleaves my 59 year old double-processed hair silky soft and looking very smooth. I was not sure the 1 1/2 inch size would be as easy to handle, but it was great.

This product is not the cheap drug store kind where it took me 45 minutes to straighten my hair. ( i have course asian hair) with this new straightener it took me 10 minutes for a thorough good job! i have been straightening almost every day now after i blow dry. the only thing is that the temperature setting goes up to 200c and my friend has a paul brown and it goes up to 400c. i dunno the difference but im pretty satisfied.

I ordered the SEDU flat iron for my 16 yr. old daughter and she loves it. SHe was straightening her hair daily and I thought it was important that she use a professional straightener like SEDU. After using SEDU,Her hair is so silky, straight, and she can straighten her hair in so little time. Her hair looks magnificent. Well- I tried it and I'm hooked..my hair never looked better. It doesn't have that frizzy look especially in humid weather. I highly recommend this product.

my hair comes down to may waist and without regular treatments and expensive salon visits, it was hard to maintain the length and the strength of my hair. i always tied up my hair so my head doesn't too big with fizzy hair. for 40 dollars per visit at a salon, they use similar or the same product to finish my look adding shine and reducing fizziness. i decided to purchase sine it only costs about 4 visits to the salon, and i love it. pretty hard to do on my long hair but my hair looks great everyday since i purchased. long shimmering hair used to be done occasionally but its everyday now.
