I initially bought the Sedu for my daughter, who like me, wants straight hair. We both have wavy hair that tends to frizz due to the climate we live in. I already had a pretty good hot iron, and since she used it all the time, I thought the Sedu sounded perfect for her, and this way I could get my hot iron back when needed. Anyway, when we received it, we both tried it and loved it. I could not believe how soft and straight our hair was after using the Sedu. I also noticed my hair behaved better in the humidity. I ended up putting mine away and using the Sedu all the time. I had to make a deal that she could take the Sedu on overnight trips and sleepovers since I have my back-up, but know I am using her flat iron all the time.

How did I live without a flat iron all these years! Well, I had a really cheap one that pulled my hair out. This Sedu is all it is hyped up to be and more! My hair is fabulously smooth and straight! Yes, Straight! Love it and worth the price. Also, Folica handled my return (I accidently bought the UK version and I live in U.S.) very efficently and I had my iron within 3 days of my return.

This straightner rocks! like most of you i had a cheap azz one that would pull and damage my hair but not the SEDU! i straightnen my hair at night after its freshly washed and dry then go to bed. I get up the next morning and take 5 mins to run through (because i toss and turn at night) and presto! instant hair that stays soft shiny and tangle free all day! i would recommended brushing your straight hair aroung lunch if you want maximum results though. send pics soon.

Okay, I have to admit I was skeptical. I have very thick, course, half curly half wavy hair. Because it takes so long to do my hair, I usually leave it wet and tie it back in a bun. Before I bought the Sedu I used a Hot Tools straightener. It was okay, but it never got the waves totally out, especially close to my head. I recently went for a hair cut and noticed that my stylist was using a Chi. I got home and found this website, looking for info. on the Chi. But I was amazed with the reviews of the Sedu, I bought it instead of the Chi. I used it for the first time this morning, Oh my God! NEVER have I been able to get pin straight hair at home! Not only is it straight, but it's soft and shiny. This is not my hair. I keep running my fingers though it, it's not real! The Sedu is so light and it doesn't snag your hair like others I've tried. My hair was straight in about five minutes. I only ran it through once, truly amazing!

This flat iron is great!!! It's extremely light and heats up real quick. I have TONS of hair and wasn't sure about the size of this one but it works GREAT!!! I previously had the HAI flat iron which broke after 4 months.....a bigger flat iron isn't always a better one.

I have used soo many flat irons in the past, but nothing beats this! I have fried my hair for the last time! It goes thru your hair like silk and so easy that you think it did nothing until you see the end result! It blew my mind! I thought the price was high, and my husband got mad but it is so well worth it and he actually commented on the difference it made on my hair! Gotta have it!

My hair is nice and straight. Sedu turns on fast, I love that.
Things that could be better:
a.) no automatic shut off if you accidently leave it on
b.) since it gets real hot, you should buy a heat-safe case to put it in/on (I have no counter space, so I have to put it up when done)
c.) not for damp hair
d.) there was nothing special to the item, just very plain/basic - kind of disappointing at first sight, but the quality of straightening made up for it.
overall, this is a great product. it is quite pricey though & I can't help but think I could get the same results for a little less. . . .

Well, i have always had the cheapo revlon straighteners until my cousin put me on teh sedu. i tried hers and loved it, but thought i would try to chi too. so i bought the chi, it sucked compared to teh sedu. so then i returned the chi and ordered the sedu. i would recommend it to everyone, my hair takes about 45 min to an hour to blowdry and straighten... still takes that long with the sedu, but the results are sooo much better and flatter

I have curly, frizzy hair and I thought it wouldn't work because I have tried other irons in the past, but it works better than the one they used on me at the salon, I am so happy with this purchase, I didn't even have to blow dry my hair straight before I used the iron, I just combed it and ran it through my hair, it looks beautiful!

I used this straightning iron the minute I got home, and I worked wonders, I hated straightening my hair with a blow dryer and all of the other straightning irons I have purchased in the past never got as hot and never consistantly stayed the same temperature. This one heats up real fast , in less than 15 seconds, and the tourmaline plates and ionic waves make the biggest difference! I recomend this product to anyone, I have had it well over a month and it still works just as good as the day I got it. Well Worth the Money!!

Still took awhile to straighten my hair which is very thick, but better than most irons. Keeps my hair in a little bit better condition.

I just received my flat iron today, and could not wait to open it. I washed my hair and let it dry naturally. Then I held my breath as I started to use the Sedu flat iron. My hair is very very curly and almost to my waist. It took me all of 25 minutes to get it as straight as a pin. This is by far the best flat iron out there. I have had curly hair my whole 44 years of my life. Years of spending thousands of dollars buying everything and anything that claimed to do (the impossible in my case), of straightening hair. Shampoos, creams, gels, pomades, mousse, chemical straightening ect... Been there done that! I now feel like a new person, reborn and ready to visit a hairstylist to give me the hair cut I always dreamed of. I believe now that I could love my curls, because I know that I am not stuck with the same style for the rest of my life. I just may have to buy another one for a back up. Now that I own this, I never want to be without it!

I've been using my Sedu for a month now and I think my hair is healthier. It makes my hair flawlessly straight, shiny, and soft. It's worth the money trust me. I did a mayonnaise treatment recently and it REALLY sealed in the moisture. My hair feel perfect. I washed my hair with VO5 shampoo and conditioner (no silicone) and my hair is hydrated and smooth. This flat iron will be the answer to all your prayers. No lie. :)

When I read the wonderful reviews on here, I got a little glimmer of hope for my hair ..but I didn't believe that it would really work...for me. I was considering the $400+ japanese staightening, so I figured that if this didnt work id send it back and get the 8 hour procedure done. After spending $35+ a shot on stupid drugstore straighteners..(IE CONAIR), I have a collection of about 7 that are no good at all sitting in my drawer collecting dust. Well, anyways, I got the straightener last night...(JUST 2 DAYS AFTER I ORDERED IT)... and it is fantastic. I was just testing it out at 3 in the morning..I used no serum or product...and did it half heartedly...IN THE DARK!! I swear to you my long..thick...wavy...frizzy hair was stick straight in 19 MINUTES! I could not believe it. With remington, conair, vidal sassoon...my hair took about an hour and a half to straighten.. I never thought getting it done in 20 minutes would be possible. If you really want to do it nice...with serum and stuff.. It shouldnt take more than like a half hour. Besides all that, it gives the hair this incredible shine and softens it. With others my hair would look dried out and greasy... Did I mention that it heated up instantaneously??? The drugstore crap took up to 15 minutes... This product is the miracle that I have been looking for the last five years. I had a class today at 8AM and got up normally at 5:45 to do my hair and get ready...By 6:30 I was sitting around ready with nothing to do.. So I took the time to do something I never had a chance to do.. EAT BREAKFAST!!! Thank you for adding an extra hour on to my days sedu! I will post pictures asap.

Even though I read all the reviews posted online, I was still a little leary when I ordered this flat iron for my daughter. She has extremely thick hair that frizzes in warm humid weather. It gets very "large". We have tried numerous flat irons in the past and nothing seems to really work for her. Well she loves the Sedu flat iron. It not only straightenes her her much quicker than the old one she had but her hair remains straight the entire day even when it is humid outside. It was even straight the next morning after sleeping on it. She raved so much about it both her sister and I decided to try it. We also loved it and could not go back to our old straightners ( Hot Tools and Sasson brands). We ordered two more and now the entire family uses this flat iron. We all highly recommend it!

i got it yesterday(my husband gifted it to me)and i immediately washed my hair(i have a longggggggg,thickkkkkkk,curly hair)....well...u guys will not beleive in just 20 minutes...my hair was adorable,straight,and shiny...wow..what an amazing product.
well it does it's job but the only catch is the looks(of the straightner)well...it is kinda dull...and looks worn out.
but when it come to work..it's the best.

I received my SEDU today before I went to my 12:15 class this morning.UPS just pulled up to my driveway in the nick of time. I was ecstatic to try it when I got home. Luckily, my 1:40 class was canceled so I immediately headed straight home. I tried the SEDU and my hair was GORGEOUS. I had already got my hair permed but it was getting a little flat with the humidity in Atlanta. I am sooooooooooo happy! Now, I can throw away my old flat irons (i.e. Revlon, Conair) and replace it with the SEDU. I wish I had pictures of my hair but hopefully I will get some posted once I get a scanner. I don't have to worry about my hair getting flat anymore. I want to thank my brother for buying it for me. Folica for placing a decent price, other sites are charging the world for this flat iron. Finally, the SEDU manufacturers because it is a blessing to have something that actually works for all ethnicities. Love ya!
Oh yea, use Biosilk Silk Therapy, its a little expensive but it works, trust me!
