Best straightener

I bought the Sedu 1 1/2" straightener and it is the best one I have ever owned. I have bought quite a few hair straighteners in the past and this is by far the best one I have ever owned. It is kind of pricy- $125- but definitely well worth the money. The Sedu leaves it looking nice and shiny and healthy looking. The best one by far, and the only one I will buy again in the future.

I've been using this particular flat iron for about 2 weeks. So, I am not aware of any long-term problems.
Short-term overview:
- it works very well on my medium length (down to shoulders), thick and curly hair;
- it dosn't pull or pluck hair;
- it heats up very fast;
- leaves hair very smooth and silky;
- with 1 1/2 inch wide iron I was able to get through my 'every morning straitening procedure' in half time.
With my old iron, which was good too but it was only 1 inch wide, it took me ~30 minutes to work through all hair.
15 minutes vs. 30 minutes - significant improvement.

The Sedu flat iron does my hair faster than the CHI & my hair feels softer. It was worth spending the extra money.

It is a good straight iron..make sure that you use a heat protective spray or serum. I recommend MATRIX SLEEK IRON Shaper...it is new and it works!!!! Redken ultimate blowdry lotion is also good

I love, love LOVE!!! this flat iron. I had a gold Wigo for about a year and a half and it absolutely fried my hair. This flat iron actually makes my hair appear healthy it is so smooth. I am sold, it seems you do get what you pay for!

I'VE OWNED A FEW FLAT IRONS OVER THE YEARS WITH AVERAGE RESULTS. THIS TIME I DECIDED TO SPEND THE MONEY AND INVEST IN A HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT. I AM EXTREMELY SATISFIED. I HAVE VERY THICK VERY CURLY HAIR AND THE FIRST TIME I USED IT I SAW AMAZING RESULTS. IT GETS HOT INSTANTLY AND STAIGHTENS GREAT! I HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED IT TO ALL OF MY CURLY HAIRED FRIENDS. THANK YOU.
WOW... it works

This is the fourth flat iron I have used... IT IS THE BEST - I have thick, course, curly color treated hair.. and I finally get great results.. the Sedu is light so my arm doesn't wear out before the job is done... It heats so quickly. I couldn't be happier.. Now to see how long it lasts..
Love it!

I just bought the Sedu and received it last week. I have been relaxing my thick kinky curly hair since I was in 3rd grade, so I've tried my share of crappy hair products. I was very skeptical about spending so much money because I had always used Hot Tools. But I love the Sedu! It gets really hot which makes my hair stay straighter for longer. It also makes my hair shiny, which I still don't understand, but it does. I think that the Sedu is well worth the money. Some people have said that it straightens their hair in 10-15 minutes. That wasn't the case for me, but it did cut off some time. It only takes me like 25-30 minutes after blow-drying instead of 45. It works even better with a heat product (I use Redken spray starch). I also use Biosilk Silk Therapy as a leave-in conditioner and finish with Brilliantly Brunette to add even more shine and to calm the hairs that stick up on top.
It does get very hot, so I use a deep conditioner (Redken) every other time I wash my hair and I only wash it twice a week. I also use a clarifying shampoo (Redken) at least twice a month to clean all of the product build-up in my hair. I have very healthy thick hair despite everything I do to it.
If you are unsure about which product to buy, I highly reccomend the Sedu!

I have problems getting my hair to go straight so I purchased the Sedu and it straightens my hair and keeps it straight all day. The humidity here doesn't even effect it making my hair curl up again. I love it. It's the best investment that I have made for my hair. It's well worth the money.

Hi,
I had used the GHD (stands for "great hair day") hair iron when I was visiting in England - and I loved that - but it is only available for the English and European electric outlets....
I thought I'd try the Sedu because of all the great reviews - and I do like it - It's really smooth
and heats up quickly - but I do find it a little drying so far....My first choice would be the GHD - but the Sedu is also good.

I really like this flat iron. I had a CHI for a couple of years and when it shorted out I decided to try one with that offered a variable temperature control. My hair is fine textured, and color treated, but very thick. I have waves, not tight curls, so I don't need extreme heat to staighten my hair. I only use this one at 325 degrees and it works great without damaging my hair with high heat. My daughter uses it on the highest setting for her tight curly hair.

This iron is incredible! After reading so many great reviews about it here and another beauty website, I took the plunge and ordered it. The Sedu is light and very easy to use. It does pull your hair AT ALL, and it takes me 20 minutes to gorgeous hair!! I am so glad I got this, now I know what everyone was raving about!! Thank you Sedu and Folica!
Great but it has a kink...

I gave this flat iron a 3 star rating because there is one thing that I would change about it. The ceramic bars have a flat edge so when I put the iron close to my scalp I have to be extra careful not to bend my wrist in any way because it will leave a line in my hair if I do. So I pull the iron through my hair very quickly at the scalp which doesn't get it as straight as I would like. But for all other reasons I would give this iron a 5 star rating because it straightens my hair quickly and it does not fry my hair. So if you have issues with putting lines in your hair get one that has a curved edge, otherwise this one is for you!
Awesome Results!
