The best iron hands down!! I have very curly, thick hair and this iron works well with my hair type. I used to use hot tools. It used to pull and break my hair and cause alot of split ends. This does not break or pull my hair at all. It glides right through and makes it feel soft and silky. You must get it or you'll regret it : )

The Sedu, based on the other comments, seemed the best item around - it should be based on price alone - Ah alas, tis not the case. It definitely is lightweight, heats quickly, and cut my flattening time in half. My hair is med thickness and slightly wavy. The cord is long, a plus; yet, the handle gets too hot to hold where you would naturally place your grip indicated by the finger ridges.
It doesn't rest upright; it lies on its side. I think it should come with a carrying case or pouch to store it in because it is one of the more expensive models and the box is not conducive to use for this purpose. I like the product I am keeping it because of its lightweight and effective temperature range. I definitely think you could spend less for the same quality. I hope it lasts...

The Sedu is a wonderful flat iron! It is truly worth the money. One of the main reasons I bought it was because of all the great reviews and everyone was right on! It is so light and gets hot really fast with enough heat for my hair to get bone straight. I'm mixed Blk/Wht/Indian and my VERY thick and curly hair is just past the middle of my back. I quickly dried it with the blow dryer and was then able to get all my hair straight in about 30min which is really FAST for the amount of hair I have. It took my hair dresser longer with her iron and that was after she blew my hair out with a roller brush. Even then my hair wasn't as straight as I got it with the Sedu doing it by myself!

I have only used a straightening iron for the past year, so the first one I bought was the only one I had experience with. Since I have received my new Sedu iron however, I wish I would have shopped around from the beginning.
This iron is so lightweight and easy to manage and the cord is extra long and doesn't tangle. I have alot of very curly,long fine hair that is hard to straighten, but the Sedu makes it effortless. I truly appreciate the multiple heat settings and particulary love the fact that there is nothing on the unit that snags my hair while I am pulling it through -- a big problem with my old iron.
I highly recommend this unit -- it is worth the price.

I recently purchased the Sedu 1-1/2 inch flat iron. So far so great. After reading reviews on this iron and others, I decided to purchase the Sedu. My hair is frizzy after blow drying, but within 3 minutes max my hair is flat as a board with the Sedu. And the Sedu is great because with just a slight curve under when flat ironing, it gives my hair a slight curl. And it is as light as a feather. Well worth the price!

This flat iron definitely cuts straightening time in half!! It also leaves your hair fealing very smooth. The only fault that I have noticed is that this iron does pull out more hair than the Chi and it also has broken off my ends. You can decide which benefits are more important!

I love this Iron. My sister had it, and when she had originally told me over the phone she purchased this iron for over $100.00 I freaked! But once I tried hers, I was convinced EVERY WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ONE!!! I LOVE IT!

This product is fantastic. It works very well at straightening curly frizzy hair. Even on humid days, I can expect to have relatively straight hair if I have used the Sedu. I have found it works best if I quickly dry my hair first with a flat or round brush. I don't have to straighten with the hairdryer, just dry it. It seems to work best when hair is dry. However, it also works to straighten already dry curly hair as well, it just takes a bit longer. I have had the thermal reconditioning or Japanese straightening treatment about 4 times in the last 4 years but could not do it this year because I was pregnant. The Sedu is an incredible alternative, and much cheaper. Japenese Straightening costs about $400-600 depending on the length of your hair. I don't think I will do the chemical straightening again since the Sedu gets my hair just as straight and I have the option of wearing my hair curly if I want to. I love this product!! It was worth every penny.

The Sedu does a great job straightening my hair and leaving it softer and less frizzy that it was to begin with. I did have a hard time getting it to work for me the first time I tried it, but I think it was because I was in a hurry and sweating a bit in a hot, humid bathroom and my hair was just not cooperating with the humidity. I would definitely reccommend using this product on dry hair. The second time it worked great, and in record time!

After I read over many other reviews I finally chose the Sedu. After recieving it, I used it the next day. I dryed my hair in sections...and it was a HUGE mess!! However, when I used the Sedu it straightened my hair and made it sooo smooth. I thought it would do ok but I was very surprised to how straight my hair was. There is still one spot where my hair still has a crimp but I think its just where the curliest part of my hair is. This product is wonderful and I am definetly happy with my $125 purchase!

This is an incredible flatiron and worth every penny. Believe me, I have tried them ALL, from the cheapo Hot Tools to the Italian-made Kenta, and this one is miles above the rest. Just for fun, I let my thick, wavy/curly hair air-dry yesterday and then took the Sedu to it, just to see if it would do as good of a job as it does after I blow-dry. Seven minutes later, my hair had gone from frizzy and unkempt to shiny, straight and beautiful. When I blow-dry, it only takes about 3-5 minutes, and my hair is very long. A great investment if you are a straight-hair junkie like I am!!

I bought this iron to replace my last one. I had never heard of until I came upon it on this site. So I thought that if they claim it to be better than the CHI it must be awesome. It really is. I love it! It was the best investment and it is just totally awesome. It gets the hair so flat, shiny and silky! Heats up very quickly too! A must buy for stylist all my coworker want to borrow it!

I have extremely curly hair.. when i got the iron i expected absolutely nothing. I havent relaxed my hair in way over 1 year, but when i straightened my hair with this iron you could hardly tell that it hadnt been relaxed in so long. I used this iron with phyto straightening balm and my hair is so straight shiny and smooth.. I love it! Cant wait to do my hair :)

I love what this iron does to my hair!!! It heats up in less than 1 minute and quickly makes my hair look great!! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice flat iron.
