I am an african american with relaxed hair and I strongly feel that this flat iron is great. It saved me a lot of time on my hair. My hair didn't break or look frizzy like my experience with other flat iron. If you want a good quality flat iron do the research and stop buying those cheap ones that can't get the job done.

I definately wanted to wait a few months before I wrote a review to let you all know whether its durable or not. I have frizzy Indian hair and using this iron made my hair drying time so short! I no longer have to blow dry and then use a flat iron, I just use the flat iron after I air dry. It doesn't really get frizzy in rainy and humid weather. Be careful of frying your hair too much. Although the hot temp is what makes the hair so straight, it also causes the damage. Suggestion for keeping it clean: On a still hot (but make sure you unplug), run a damp terry cloth/towel across plates every couple of times you use it. Make sure the cloth is well rung out, you don't want to electricute yourself!

I live in Australia & I ordered the UK version of the Sedu Flat Iron. It arrived within a week, with no hassles at all. Very eager to try it (after buying an adaptor) the minute I got home from work I washed & dried my hair, and plugged it in.
My hair is incredibly thick and long, so I used the 200 degree temperature option. Taking only 30 seconds to heat up, I went through my hair in sections, from root to tip only once.
It really is amazing. My previous Remington straightner had NOTHING compared to this one. Using the Sedu, it looks like I've been to the Salon, and it only took about 10 minutes.
Definitely worth every penny.

Before buying the Sedu I had "gone through" 3 straightening irons that I purchased from Sally Beauty Supply that were ceramic irons. The ceramic on the 3 $40 irons would almost peel or burn off revealing a metal plate underneath. My hair is long, thick, and naturally "frizz-curly" and required the cheaper straightners to be put on the highest setting to even remotely work. The Sedu is amazing and is well worth the money. It straightens my hair in a maximum of 15 mins. vs. 30-45mins that it used to take with my old straightners. And the iron is still in great shape. It leaves my hair silky, smooth, and stick straight all day long! BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Being a nonbeliever (and having super-curly hair), I decided to straigten one side of my hair with the Sedu and the other side with my Revlon gold-plated flat iron. Let me tell you .. I had to go over the same piece of hair 4-5 times with the Revlon and it still wasn't as straight as the Sedu side! The Sedu did a great job. The only thing I wasn't too pleased about was the fact that by the end of the day, my hair was a bit curly again (at the bottom). Other user reviews said that their hair stayed straight all day (even thru humidity) - but not in my case. Still a good product though.

Oh my god!!!! This is the best straightener in the world! It's absolutely fantastic! If you want to have a good straightener for a lower price, just buy that one!

I love this product. It is really easy to use. I appreciate is light weight and that it warms up quickly. If your going to go with a straightener, go with this one. I have tried others and they just can't compare to the quality of this product.

This product truly is the best of all it's competitors. Cuts your hair straightening time in half, smooths the hair cells, protects the hair, wonderful, wonderful product. Would replace in an instant!

OH MY GOD!!!! I went searching for a perfect straightener after I got sick of using a stupid $30 CONAIR version of a straightener that took me 30 - 45 minutes to do and 5 minutes to curl right back up.... Sooo... I searched and searched like no tomorrow until I came accross the Sedu!! I read many of the reviews and I was impressed by them and the pictures!! (sadly I have no pics yet.. But soon enough I WILL POST!!) I decided to purchase the Sedu, hoping to god that it would work like the ones they use at the salon.... I had trouble receiving it because U.P.S. "suposively" lost it... Anyways... let me tell you *points finger*.... IT WORKED!!!!! and you know how long it took me to straighten my whole head of hair?!??!?!!?! A WHOLE FLIPIN 2 MINUTES TO THE MAX!!!! I was sooooo incredibly impressed that I had to show my friends as soon as I did it... In my town its always rainy, and barely hits any sun at all... so when I went outside I didnt have to worry!! I can stay out in the blistering rain for the longest time and my hair is still straight!! Even in the morning I wake up and not have to straighten it again, which I had to when i used the crappy "CONAIR" straightener...
Now.. If you dont want to spend $125 on this product... GO RIGHT AHEAD AND DONT!!!! BUT:.... you are just missing out on the greatest product for your hair! Spending $125 is well worth it, and if you keep it well cleaned it will last you forever, which you would have to keep buying more and more "CRAPPY" straighteners and you will end up spending more that what this product is...
HAPPY SHOPPING AND BUY THE SEDU!!!! YOUR HAIR IS CALLING FOR IT!!!!

I have tried SO many flat irons that I have lost count of how many I passed down to my sisters. When I first read the reviews, I was pretty skeptical about forking out $130.00 for a tool that you can buy in the store for $40.00. After I recieved the Sedu flat iron in the mail, I was floored. After using it, it left my hair silky and sleek (something that other flat irons just couldn't do). And from what I understand, this flat iron is less likely to ruin your hair. So, go ahead, splurge on this IRON! I did...and it was totally worth it. I have no regrets what-so-ever!

I was looking for a flat iron that would not damage my hair. Did some research on the internet and the Sadu flat iron received the best reviews. Received the iron within a few days of ordering it. Threw out 2 irons that I was using. This iron is amazing. Heats up in seconds. My daughter has wavy hair down to her butt, and this iron straightened it in 10 minutes. Well worth the money.
It doesnt prevent from humidity!

I bought Sedu and many people say that hair doesnt curl back when it's humit, which is not true!!! I live in Florida and almost all year it is humit and to tell you the truth I bought Sedu just for that, but it's not helping. The only good thing is that it doesnt burn my haird much as the other flat irons I had.

This flat iron is everything the reviews said it was. I previously owned a Chi (until is mysteriously stopped working just out of the warranty period), and thought it was great. However, the Sedu is far superior. It is much lighter and easier to handle, and it does a better job. I have two small children, and don't have much time to primp. This tool is a real time-saver, and my hair never looked so good!

I have had this one for almost a year, and I love it. It works so well that you do not have to spend forever going over the same pieces to get it straight, and you do not have to touch it up periodically through out the day like I had to with other straighteners. The best part is that is does not ever pull your hair. I would recommend this one to everyone. The only bad part is that you cannot touch the outside of the plates when straightening because there is no felt, and it will burn you. If that is not a problem for you, then this one is perfect.

When I ordered this flat iron I only ordered it because it was a ceramic iron and the reveiws were so good. I still couldn't believe it when I used it. My old iron (which I liked) took me a little while to straighten my hair (which is very thick, very curly and very frizzy). The Sedu zipped right through it so fast that I kept saying to my self, "this can't be working" but it was. I have one word for this flat iron AMAZING
