So, this is my other niece. Just as beautiful, but also a pool lover, and straight hair wordshiper LOL. They both look beautiful after having their hair flat iron with the Sedu, and they love it!

Good hair is about treating it right though. So use good products and trim your hair at least every 8 weeks!

So this is my little niece, or as I like to call her, my little Pocahontas. She is absolutly the most beautiful little girl in the world (at least in my eyes!)along with her sister. Now take into consideration that she hates to come her hair. So when she is on vacation from school, she will go 3 days without coming her hair. All while spending day after day in the pool (with all the chlorine and impurities) under the hot Miami sun. So you can imagine how dry her hair is, after all the abuse she puts it through. No amount of conditioner can takle the abuse. But there is one thing her and her sister love, and that is straight hair. So that is my brive to get them to wash and condition their hair. I tell them I'll flat iron their hair straight.

However in the pictures above, she hadn't comed her hair in days. She kept washing her hair but she didn't use conditioner when she washed it, so it was a dry, matted, frizzie mess. I'll I did was put in some Redken Heat glide on her hair, try to detangle it as best as I could, and flat iron it. I never do that. I usualy have her condition her hair really well and put all kinds of leave in conditioners and protectants before doing her hair. But this time I wanted people to see how good this iron is. Now, YOU can not tell me her hair doesn't look beautiful. And it stays just as straight until she washes it again, or jumps in the pool. Which is usually 2-3 days later. She will hold back on the pool for a couple of days, just so she can have beautiful straight hair LOL. If this iron can do that with that matted mess, imagine what it can do for yours!
It will take you practice and experimenting with different products (at least for me it was like that) but once you get the hang of it, you will never again have a bad hair day. The only other iron I would buy is a Solia, it is just as good. So stop thinking about it, and get it! If you see a picture that is not that great, that is someone who either flat irons without any heat protecting serum (the serum makes all the difference), or a newbie who hasn't gotten the hang of it yet. I am going to post another review with my other niece's pictures, so it will probably be right above this one.

They have different hair textures but their hair is just as curly. One has really thick, course hair, and the other one has really soft fine hair. But the Sedu can handle them both.

I have very thick, extremely curly, impossible to straighten hair and this straightener did the TRICK! It straightens very fast and holds until washed.
I love it, it is the best straightener I have ever owned. It is a little pricey but completly worth every penny. My friends and family were shocked and amazed at how beautifully straight and shiny this thing made my hair.
I would definitly recommend this product to anyone who has trouble getting and KEEPING their hair straight!

I recently submitted a review, I just wanted to show y'all a picture of before and after to see for yourself how awesome this iron is!

I still and always will HIGHLY recommend it to everyone, whether they have thin, fine, coarse, or thick hair. I have friends with the Chi iron, and they always beg me to use my Sedu instead when they visit! I've had it for over a year now, and it works as good as the day I first turned it on! It rocks!

Hey everyone! I had my SEDU for about a year now, and it still works good! I love it. The plates are so smooth, it dosen't pull my hair. I have very curly fizzy hair, and most Straightner would just make my hair REALLY DRY, but sedu makes it really soft & really straight. So if your thinking about buying a Sedu... you really should, it will change your life!!

I purchased the Sedu Ceramic Flat Iron (1.5") about a month ago. I was beyond excited when I received it. When I began using it I could not believe how fast it was or how soft my hair became. I decided to stop relaxing my hair 6 months ago and I was in this stage where I really couldn't do anything with my hair. I had a cheap "ceramic" flat iron that cost me $20 and it was enough to keep my hair under some control, but not enough for me to let me hair down in public. I bought the SEDU at the perfect time for me. On my first use I got great results and everytime after I feel really proud of my hair. I feel like I can still have straight hair even though I am reclaiming my curly locks. Don't hesitate on buying because of the cost- for me it paid for itself in two uses. I have already recommended it friends and family.

Was referred to this website to buy this product from my daughter's friend. My daughters tried so many different straighteners (less expensive models) and have never been happy with them. Decided to take her friend's advice and spend the money on this excellent straightener!! What a great product and fast shipping from Folica - thanks again!!

This straightner is deffinently worth the money! It only takes me 15 minutes [at most] to straighten my hair, when before, with my old straightner, it took over 30! It also leaves my hair shiny and silky, and not dull and frizzy.

Product Rating: 5 Sedu vs Solia

I have curly dry hair and what Sedu does to my hair it’s amazing. For all you people trying to decide between a Solia and a Sedu, here is how it goes. I own a Solia, and it is a great iron, it was the first iron I ever bought. Recently I bought a Sedu and I must say that it out grows the Solia by far. With Sedu my flat ironing time was like about 45 min to 1 hour, with my Solia I take like 2 and a half hours to get it done. Also with Sedu I can use a lower heat setting 360 degrees and I obtain even better results than with Solia wich I had to use at 425 degrees. Solia is better than Sedu for those short baby hairs near your fore head. Also Solia is a better flat iron to do flip downs. Sedu is great for stick straight hair, with solia I always get flip downs. Both irons leave hair healthy looking but Solia leaves hair more shiny than Sedu. I was a little scared when I bought Sedu, first- it was expensive and second- I thought it was going to be difficult reaching my roots but I was wrong, its design makes it much easier to reach roots than the Solia flat iron. With sedu I need less passes to get my hair the straight I want just about 2- 3 times, with solia I have to pass the flat iron more times like 5- 7 times to get the results I want. So for all you people trying to decide between a Sedu and a Solia, I will recommend Sedu, not only for the reasons I said before but because of this: Before flat ironing I use a protective spray, Solia will burn the product and I get white flakes in my hair wich I need to brush off. With sedu that doesn’t happens, it doesn’t burns the product and my hair is done with out white flakes. With Solia I have to take smaller sections of hair, with Sedu I can take bigger sections and more amount of hair. Solia has a more sturdy design, heavier, Sedu design is more cheap looking, but it is very light and that is a plus for me. The solia plates doesn’t come together as good as Sedu’s plates. Sedu will just glide off, smoothly with solia it kinds of get stuck towards the end. When I flat iron Sedu doesn’t pulls my hair, Solia does pull your hair. Finally one of the best things I like about Sedu, is that I haven’t burn my self or my scalp not even once, It’s flat design really makes it really easy reaching the roots. With solia I had burned a few times because of it’s design, its like a little bit rounded and more difficult to manage. I will recommend Sedu to anyone because you can use it at lower heat settings, its faster and the results are just great!. I don’t know if Sedu is the best flat iron but I do know its better than Solia. Sedu is worth the extra money, specially if your hair is dry and very frizzy. When my mother first saw me after I had sSedu my hair, all she could say was WOW, we both like Sedu better than solia. I had been told that you could not tell if my hair was curly because the Sedu straight looks so natural. I hope this was helpful, I know how it feels trying to decide between this two flat irons. I spent like 2 weeks trying to decide if I would buy a new Solia since I already had one or I will take a risk and buy the Sedu. After all the risk was worth it. I am really happy with my Sedu.

I used CHI irons for four years, and had to buy a new one each year. This year when my CHI went bad I decided to try something new and I looove the Sedu so far. I was so afraid to try it because I loved the CHI and didn't think anything else would compare but this iron definitely does. I have super curly and frizzy hair and this iron reduced my straightening time significantly. The Sedu gets super hot and now I can have it perfectly straight in only a half hour as opposed to the hour to hour and a half the CHI used to take. I still have to watch myself in humid weather because it doesn't completely prevent my hair from frizzing back up, but it's definitely an improvement from the CHI. I love CHI still, but I love the Sedu just as much, if not more! I've had it for a month and so far no problems. I'm just hoping it will last longer than a year! My hair is super shiny and seems a lot healthier now. I definitely recommend it, especially to previous CHI users. You will love it!

I've worked in salons for several years and tried several flat irons including all the Chi's... this one tops them all! I have very frizzy hair and a friend introduced me to the SEDU and I will never look back! I can't wait to show all my hair dresser friends and it's a shame they don't sell this brand locally.

my shift keys are broken, so this review is going to lack the excitement i feel about this product.
i've been using flat irons for a long time. i started with the irons you heat up over the stove or in the plug in ceramic oven, but those grew to be difficult and time consuming, so i started looking for a plug in iron. did some research, and i ended up here. sedu, of course had amazing reviews, so i decided it was the iron for me.
i was won over by the black/latin reviews because i am mixed myself. but, i got nervous so i started reading the bad reviews.

okay. here's the deal. if you heat style your hair, you have to take care of it. i can't emphasize right now since my shift keys are broken but believe me... it drives me nuts. i want to scream.

1. condition your hair. imagine that in all caps. ddeeeeeeeppp connndiiitionnninngggggg. it helps with the damage.
2. trim your hair. you're supposed to trim those ends off every 6 weeks. if you don't do that, guess what happens... yup. more damage. especially, if you heat style. your hair grows, the split ends just continue to split. there are tons of leave-in conditioners, oils, all that, on the market. get some.
3. let your hair rest. don't heat style it everyday.
4. to avoid burning your hair, make sure the temperature isn't too high. and don't leave the iron on the pieces too long. my old iron had to be left on sections for a few seconds, this iron just requires a few quick swipes.

i was very skeptical about this iron. but it made my hair so soft and shiney. i'm used to the 'fake straight' feel, but this was real straight feel, like i was born with it.
my husband felt my hair and said 'it feels like silk'. my hair has never felt like silk. it's worth the price.

picture 1, the left picture is my hair naturally, the right picture is my hair blow dried and flat ironed with my old iron.
picture 2, the left picture is when i first flat ironed it with the sedu, and the second is the very next day after a touch up.

bottom line is, this iron is absolutely amazing.

Product Rating: 5 BUY THIS!!!

This straightener is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I used to be miserable with my corkscrew-curly, fizzy, thick, coarse hair, but i could never find anything to straighten it! I owned a CHI, but it always left my hair kinky, dry, frizzy, "heavy"-looking, and it had that "fake straight" look. The Sedu leaves my hair soft, shiny, manageable, smooth, frizz-free, and it even remains this way in humidity and rain or snow!!!!!!!!!!! If you are looking for "the straightener", you must BUY THIS!! It pays for itself in about 2 uses and continues to-over and over and over again!!!!

P.S. I've had it for about 9 months, and it hasen't changed in performance, quality, or condition...
