ok so i have really really curly hairrr..like crazy curlsss all the way from the root..well i always envyed the girls with the nice straight hair.. but uhm guess what i am now one of them... so heres watcha do!...okkk
most people say to blow it out first and then do it, but n e girl who had curls like me no thta once u put a blowdryer to your hair it turns into a afrooooo...so what i did was i did my hair the way i usually do it with gel and spray the day before..then the next day my hair is in soft curlss and by then the gel and spray has flaked out.. then i sit down with my SEDU =) and i get to work. i start from the back all the way to the front.. make sure u use oils cuz your hair will get sooo dried out.. i also use garnier fructis leave in conditioning cream aleek and shine.its in a green circle bottle..
it tooke me about hour and a half to straighten but thats only kuz i had dead ends for the first time, but i cut them all off and not its like half the time.. but trust me n e one who hasss ethnice curly tangly kinky curls, this is for u! i promise! its worth it!!!!!

So I used to use a cheap Wal-Mart straightener that snagged my hair all the time and didn't even get it as straight as I like. Then an hour later it would get little waves in it. It also damaged my hair like crazy. My hair is of average thickness, long, and wavy (the kinky kind of waves, not the super flowy kind). It shouldn't be too hard to straighten, yet it was. I finally decided to invest in a good straightener and I saw all the fantastic reviews for the Sedu.
Well, it really does work as well as it says! It makes my hair sooo shiny and doesn't snag it, and it also eliminates frizz. It cut my straightening time in half as well. I love it so much and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a top-of-the-line straightener. :D I live in humid Houston and it lasts all day and make my hair really soft. ^_^
P.S. The top picture is without a straightener (except for the bangs, those are straightened) and the bottom picture is after using the Sedu.
love it

I needed a new straightener cuz my other one was about 6 yrs old and wasn't cutting it anymore. I found this one and got it. I read the reviews and I was hoping it would work like everyone said and it works better! i have coarse curly with a wave thick hair and i live in michigan where the humidity sucks! This straightener kept my hair straight and cut my straightening time in half! I'm now looking at the sedu blow dryers :) and my hair even feels healthier!
Amazing!! Gets my crazy curls under control in record time!!!

So as you can see, it straightens very well. Can't see the length in the after, but using the Sedu trust me it more than doubles when it's straight versus when it's curly. I've tried CHI (hello?! I need a heat dial), Wigo, and some expensive ion flat iron. Returned them all after just the first use. If you are going to pay the money, you need the results and they should be instant. I have super spiral curls and I get my hair done with this Sedu in 20-30 minutes. The only thing I don't like about this is that it has 1 and 1/2 inch plates. I like a bit smaller so I can really flatten at the roots. No problem though! Gave this baby to my sister for her b-day (she was ECSTATIC) and ordered myself a 1 inch. I had it for 1.5 years before giving it to her and it still looks and works like new! Heats up in literally no time at all. Love love LOVE the Sedu.

I bought this a week ago, and for the first time ever, now i can make my super curly shoulder- long hair straight in about 10 minutes at home! The photo shows results afer 10 mins - if i took a little more time, I am sure the difference would be more dramatic. The tourmaline plates do make a big difference - my old flat iron by Solia was purchased almost 8 years ago and did a nice job. But it did dry out my hair, so i used it rarely. This one works faster, is more effective, and leaves my hair feeling far shinier and softer than the old one ever did. So the upgrade was well worth it.
great!

I decided to purchase the sedu after my solia began acting stupid...after a year and a half, the plates began to wear and it wasn't performing as well as it used to. And according to the reviews on folica, the sedu was rated the #1 flat iron by customers so i decided to give it a try. My hair is half-chemically processed, half-natural growth. I've decided not to get my hair relaxed anymore so I needed a strong, reliable and durable flat iron.
Anyway, it's a LITTLE better than the solia. With the sedu, my hair is smoother and not as "poofy" (and that has been an issue in the past - my hair being straight but poofy). My ends look healthier with the sedu AND my hair is softer.
I washed, conditioned and then applied both a heat protectant spray & paul mitchell's super skinny serum to my wet hair. I blow dried it and then began to iron it. My hair was straight within 45 minutes and super soft! =) I am satisfied.

This is my 1st straightening iron ever and I am very happy and pleased with it.
I first wash my hair and let it dry completely. I dont put anything on my hair to protect it from the heat. I leave it clean. I do each section of hair. Since my hair is thick and frizzy I go slow and use a comb as im straightening it. I adjust the tempature to accomodate my hair style, so i try different settings at 1st then i keep this setting always. 410 was to hot for my hair and 350 was ok, but 360 was just right. Hot enough to straightnen it but not to hot to burn my hair. For me it takes me about 45min (which i dont mind) b/c my hair is thick and fizzy and did i mention LONG. Obviously it will take time. I could use a HIGH setting but again, i dont want to fry my hair to a crisp.
Now, ive read some reviews that said that it pulled their hair at the ends. I believe it does that because people hold it to tight at the ends. I release the pressure as im heading down the ends but enough to do its job. Another reason would be because of the ends themselves. If the ends are damaged it will sound like a cracking sound (or if the hair is tangled as you pass the iron). My ends are the 1st to tangle so i use a fine brush at the ends as im straightning it and not let it tangle. No matter how much i passed the iron over it, my ends were still not as straight. So, i cut an inch of because i felt they were damaged. It worked.
To finish of i use "Smooth 'N Shine Polishing: Instant repair Hair Polisher" after my hair is all straight. There are many types of polishers and oils. There are some with aloe vera in them which i think will benifit the hair. My friend used one on me and it left my hair silky and smooth and not as oily (I'll keep u posted).
So really, theres not much to straightnening your hair. Not only does it do a good job but it doesnt burn my hair and hasent damaged it in any way. It also keeps my hair straight for a long time. The longest has been 4 days ( could go longer) without re-touch. I would sleep on it, tie it back with a pony tail, try hair styles, add hair spray, then at night.. comb it and leave it. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants straight, smooth, manegable hair.

WOW!!!! I have been doing my homework and checking out all of the flat irons on the market, So I Pick Sedu 1 1/2 I waited anxiously so when I received it in 4 days I was excited. I took a before and after picture and I was very impressed. Let me just inform you that I am in a need of a relaxer I have naturally curly hair and lots of it which tends to frizz really fast in high humidity. I usually wash and set my hair and then make the (doobie) Some of you may know what this is esspecially the puerto ricans and Dominicans use it a lot and has pass on from generations to tame the hair It is very effective when I sleep. I just washed my hair and naturally air dried it and then I began the process. Iam new to this but it was not hard to manage I think I did a pretty good job for the first time and Iam sure I will become better as I go along the whole process took about 30 min to complete. The Iron felt really light and easy to handle considering it was my first try and I have lots of latina hair. The girls in my job were amazed at how straight and beautiful my hair turned out they also stated I even look much younger LOL!!! This product is fantastic I would buy another if I had to and won't think twice about the price. It's really worth the money. I have never flat ironed my hair and it really beats sitting under the hot hair dryer and then blow drying it straight. This Sedu "Esta Pasao" meaning off the hook!!! The Bomb! and my hair lasted all week even through a harricane we just had. no kidding just buy it you will not regret it.
so be beautiful, straight and shinny

I purchased the Sedu 1 1/2 inch flat iron probably around a year and half ago and it is still working great. It is the best flat iron I have ever used. I have naturally curly hair and it gets my hair so straight. My friends loved the way my hair looked so much they alos purchased the Sedu. If my Sedu Flat Iron stops working I will purchase another one.
Also Folica.com is a great company to work with and they will help you with anything.

But the sedu really adds shine and works great while using the sedu heat protecting moisturizing boost. My hair feels like silk and i have actually become more popular in school..I have had sedu for 5 1/2 months and it is a "must have" I dont know what i would do without it.

I am very satisfied with my iron. It is not magic, nothing is. It takes a while and I go over the same section a few times but my hair never gets caught or torn out like with the t3 and others, the sink is empty when I'm done. I still blow my hair dry fully, use the straight balms, oils, etc. but my hair is shiny and can be unwashed for 5-7 days once I straighten it, I am very happy with the sedu iron.

When I was younger, I had an afro. Now, at 20, I still have the same hair, only it's grown out (thank gawd... oh, and my hair is wet in the first picture and brushed out. picture the curlyness at the bottom being like that over my whole head). Basically, I am of mixed race, black, a bit native, and whatever makes me white. My hair is fine, there's a lot of it, it is frizzy, and very curly and well, nappy. It will not stay straight without a lot of product and time, then it just gets weighed down, sometimes the salon straightens don't last for more then a few hours. It is dry, and always full of broken ends. After reading at least 30 pages of reviews on all the "best of folica" irons, I realized I couldn't keep using a conaire, I decided I wanted a Sedu, but I was scared. I'm pleased to announce that I was sooo wrong to wait more then 2 seconds to order this iron. My first time straightening my medium length mess took about 35 minutes and barely any product. Normally, it takes about 1.5 hours. I'd like to point out that my hair was air dried curly, and part of that time was due to my spinning around in the mirror and playing with the heat setting to see what works the best for me. Zero breakage, no heat up time. It's not salon perfect yet, it's more like the day after/slept on look... but I'm confident that the next time it'll be magic. It's so soft and swingy and the frizz is about 1/100th of how bad it normally is. Don't wait, buy it now. It's soooooo amazing. I'll fix the pics later <3

I got the Sedu this past winter and it is absolutely everything I hoped it would be. It heats up in the time it takes me to brush my teeth [I set it at 360 degrees] and it cuts my straightening time down so much. I had elbow-length thick hair and spent upwards of an hour working on it with my old straightener. With the Sedu, it took no more than thirty minutes. Since getting the straightener, I cut ten inches off my hair, and the Sedu continues to work wonders. Now, with shoulder-length hair, straightening takes fifteen to twenty minutes. Amazing! My hair feels soft and silky, looks shiny and healthy, and stays straight all day. I no longer have to go over every section a million times - one or two passes does the trick. The Sedu is also great for accentuating layers, and flipping the ends of the hair in or out. I haven't met a hair day that the Sedu couldn't conquer. I strongly recommend this product to anyone with hiar like mine - thick, dry, frizzy, and unmanageable. The only problem with the Sedu was that it was a little damaging to my hair, causing some split ends. This can be offset with a good conditioner. However, the Sedu caused much LESS damage than my old straighteners - a Sally, and before that, a Conair - which pulled and broke my hair. The Sedu really works. It's changed my life!
Love it!

i've owned a few irons that get pretty hot, but this one is much better that those. i used to get sooo frustrated over how long it would take and i would have to go over the same section of hair over and over again! with the sedu, it still takes long (due to the sheer quantity of my hair) but it works so great and i don't get frustrated anymore. hair comes out nice and straight and not frizzy or puffy!! i love it :)

I got my Sedu 1 1/2" through Folica last winter, and I have to say it is incredible. I've struggled with frizzy hair my whole life, and to add to the mix, its in between wavy and curly. My hair is also VERY thick, so I've always been skeptical buying straightening irons, especially after dealing with so many Conair ones that rip my hair out of my scalp and whose effects don't last. I chose the Sedu even though I was skeptical that the heat wouldn't be hot enough (compared to the Solia, that goes up to 450) but boy was I wrong! My hair is so sleek and smooth, and it lasts too, which is awesome considering I live in Canada and have to deal with harsh winters and sticky/humid summers.
I would recommend this to ANYONE! Cheers everyone & good luck on your search! I hope you consider giving the Sedu a try, it really is worth every penny.
