The BEST Flat Iron that I have ever found!!!

I use the SEDU 1" flat iron on my ethnic kinky curly unruly shoulder length hair and it controls it....for days! My hair is shiny and beautiful! I adjust the heat according to how flat I want my hair to be. Even my hair designer loves it! My daughter has hair like mine, only it's long, down her back. She uses the larger one and loves it to death! Even her hair designer ordered one! She loves it too! My favorate things about the SEDU is the super long cord and fast heating element. The plates are flat, they touch and heat evenly. (I touched them to make sure. Ouch! I had to touch them, I'm an engineer.) I can tell you, this tool is designed and built well. Why didn't I ever think of this? And price is wonderful. I was spending a small fortune replacing jumbo curling irons, hot rollers and flat irons for my self and my daughters....now I am saving a great deal of money! BUY this product. It's well worth it!
it's ok

I bought this flat iron expecting miracles. I mean, look at the reviews. The Sedu Flat Iron is overrated. It straightened my hair yes, made it soft yes, cut down my time (by like 5-10 minutes) yes. But the thing is, all straighteners do this including the cheapo's from walmart. Did it prevent damage? Hell no, even with a heat protectant AND leave in conditioner! My ends split, and turned white. I like this straightener, but I wouldn't over do it.

I had my sedu flat iron for about a year and the cord became loose after a while. I tried to exchange it for another one at the authorized sedu salon retailer, but they don't offer warranty! I love my sedu, but after a year it wasn't up to part. I recommend researching before you purchase a new straightening iron.

I LOVE THIS IRON!!!! It works great. . . when it's working. I've had to send back 2 of the irons because they quit on me. I'm a cosmetologist and it's very frustrating, in the middle of a long work day, when my #1 tool stops working. I do love the Sedu, I just wish it was made better.
good, but could be better

okay so i got my sedu around christmas.
but before that i owned a remmington wet to straight and a
conair infiniti. both of them were horrible. so i decided
to buy a new straightener to save my hair. and gotta say,
it has horrible shipping.it was supposed to some in 5
buisness days but came in 10. very slow.
so when i got it, i was so excited. i tried it out and
guess what? it wasn't that amazing. it straightened my
hair just the same and had more split ends. ick. so right
now my hair is dead. i recommend you dotn buy this but a
herstyler instead. i heard from someone it works better.
Fantastic!

I was a little skeptical about purchasing this item at first, I had too do a lot of review reading before i considered being one of the thousands who have also purchased this item, but when i got a chance to use it, i have too say that i was very pleased with the results! It made my hair so nice and straight and soft, and took hardly any effort at all to do my hair, and being a woman of color with a lot of hair, i was very impressed. Fantastic!

this iron is really great! i'm really into taking care of my hair & this product keeps it healthy. i have loads of curly hair that frizzes up in this extremely humid south texas weather. anyway, my hair looks fine all day long. =D i took the iron to a trip & all the girls wanted to use it. it took less time & had great results. even our sponsor (a hairdresser for x number of years, asked to borrow it). they asked me where i got it & whatnot. if it makes my hair feel really good, i'm sure it'll work on yours.
i used the chi (& other cheap stuff) before this one & my hair was kind of stiff, stick out & overall weird.
sedu > chi. =)

I loved my solia flat iron, that is until the day the powercord detached itself from the iron. That happened after only a year of use, I was very disappointed.
This iron seems sturdier, but you have to take more time to straighten your hair. My hair has only a slight wave, but I like it stick straight. I also feel like this iron damages my hair a lot more than the solia one did.
All in all its a so-so iron, I would recommend trying something else.

I bought this iron for my 14 and 7 yr old girls. We love it!
It heats up quickly & having the temperature controls is a real plus. The iron is easy to use and gives your hair a very nice silky, finished look. We'd buy this product again!

Never have used a flat iron, I read reviews and compared and decided on this one. It worked great. I took it into my trusted hair stylist and she showed me different style and she loved it sooo much she decided to buy one for herself. She noted the extra long cord and how smooth the plate was on your hair. I would definetely recommend this for the money. GREAT PRODUCT!

This is the best Flat Iron ever period! I am African American and I was 5 weeks into having a relaxer trying to hold out til week six when I recieved my Sedu. I am currently deployed so it is hot and I sweat often and I also go to the gym alot so my hair curls up quickly. I used my new flat iorn and I was amazed at the results. One guy even asked me if i had just gotten a relaxer and i laughed knowing that I really needed one. This is a truly great flat iron my only wish is that it had a curved edge so i could use it for big curls as with my old flat iron. Either way I am happy definatly worth the price!

Definitely best results with use of a hair product made specifically for straightening. I use the aveda humid resistant hair cream with produce a nice smell, sleekness and shine even after multiple straightening sessions. Sedu does not burn off hair products or hair!!!! Just use directed and DO NOT OVERHEAT. If needed, just glide over slower.
Sedu is a great product, no burned hair smells or break downs like the chi.
Must buy for all levels of advances and hair types!
Great! Even after 3 years!

I've been using the Sedu now for at least 3 years. It hasn't failed me once. I think that it works just as well as it did on the first day I bought it. It still heats up very quickly. The felt cover is very useful! I place it in the cover when it's hot all the time. The cord is very good...no issues, no problems. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a long lasting, effective Sedu. Sorry no pictures, but other people's pictures tell all.

This flat iron is over-priced and does not work that well for me. I have fine, naturally curly hair (3a/3b), but lots of it, and it’s long (mid-back). Despite the numerous reviews (by women who have the same type of hair as mine), I cannot get the stellar results they seem to have achieved. I have to blow dry first with a round brush and THEN use the Sedu, which means it’s taking me LONGER to straighten my hair. And even then, I don’t get the incredible amount of shine that some people do, nor is my hair full of body and "swing". Also, the Sedu does not make my hair humidity-resistant. After about an hour, the top layer of my hair begins to "poof" and loose its smoothness.
For now, I’m just stick with my blow dryer and round brush, which give my hair plenty of shine and body, and in the meantime I'll save my pennies for the much-loved and coveted GHD iron.
love it

I bought the 1" Sedu for my daughter and she loves it. It's smooth and doesn't pull her hair. It's wide enough to do her long hair and makes it look so very pretty. It's the best and worth the money in my opinion.

I had the hardest time finding a flat iron that would work on my coarse hair. I heard great things from other African Americans and thought i would give the Sedu a try. It works really great along with leave in conditioner. It's worth the money and cuts down on the amount of relaxers needed.

I bought this iron in December and loved it until recently it didn't seem to be heating up to the proper degree. I am a hair stylist so tonight while doing my clients hair (which is very thick and course) my iron wouldn't heat up enough to smooth her her I was so embarrassed. What normally would have taken me 5-10 min. took almost an hour. I called customer service and thankfully I have a 2 year warranty so I will be sending it back for a new one, sucks that I have to pay for the shipping though.
Great Product! Makes my hair feel silky!

I have been using a straightener for about 10 years, and so far the Sedu has been the best. It makes my hair silky smooth and it stays that way all day.
