I have owned many a flat iron in my day and I never thought I would find one better than my CHI, but I did! This iron makes my hair flat, straight, and shiney. I love it!

The shipping was fast and I love my Sedu. I had my doubts the first couple of uses but after I played with the temperature settings a bit it works great. I am African-American and I was really surpised at how silky it made my hair. It's not quite salon quality but I got a lot of compliments It's really important to use a heat protectant on your hair though especially if you are an African-American.

I have wavy stuborn hair. I have had many straightners before they just don’t work. Since my hair was thick it took for ever for it to straighten. I tried the FHI straightner, it did a good job but for some reason it didn't have a tempreture control so I returned it.
My friend recommended SEDU straighter, she too has thick hair, and she absolutley loves it.
It's pricy for sure but your diffently paying for the quality. It does get preety hot on the out side so be carefull when it comes to touching the tip of the head. This is minor drawbrack when it comes to the results it deliveres.

The best iron i ever had. I does the job, my hair is shine, and straght. It works perfect , i use this one a week , and my her still in a good conditionn with out damaging it, i combine this with the artec hot style cream that help me a lot, and is light weight. Im 100% happy with the product.

I have been using the Sedu for about two weeks now. It works way better than the flat Iron I was using before, but a flat Iron is a flat iron, if you don't keep up regular trims and use something to protect from the heat your still going to get brittle ends. But I will say it glides through my hair unlike my last flat iron which felt like it was tugging as it went through. I find I have to turn it up pretty high before it does a good job on my curly but fine hair. It still doesn't make my hair as shiny as the Hai convertible my hairdresser uses on my hair.

I was using some cheap flat iron from Walmart. It was awful, my hair wasn't straight anymore by the end of the day. My mother in law got a Chi, and I used that a few times and I loved it! It was so much faster, and my hair was softer. Wonderful! So, I was looking around, pricing the Chi, and I saw all the good things about the Sedu. I am so glad! I love my Sedu even more than the Chi! It's so fast, heats up fast, does my hair fast. My hair stays straight for days! I can tie it up and take a shower and it still is straight. I LOVE it!

We purchased this flat iron to replace a Chi that failed to work after less than 1 year. This was our second -- and last - Chi. Chi's have cord problems. The Sedu gets hot quickly and straightens coarse, curly hair very well. This flat iron is used by my two teenage daughters on a daily basis. They are very pleased with the results and say this iron works better than the Chi.

Bought this over CHI, for my wife, after reading reviews. This has temperature control. Wife really uses it, unlike some other products purchased. Works real smooth.
Expensive, but a very good product - used with CHI silk infusion to protect hair from heat damage. Definitely recommend this.

Honestly, I wish I had taken before and after pictures to show, but plain and simple this flat iron is amazing! I hate doing my own hair because it always takes forever (from washing to styling), but the end results that I got using this Sedu was totally worth it. I got so many compliments on my hair the first day that I used it, and I felt even better because I did it all myself from start to finish. Having never used a flat iron before, I was amazed at just how easy it was. I did watch several of the tip videos when I ordered this Sedu back in Dec. as well as reading TOO many of the reviews. =) But all said such positive things that I was excited. My first time out, I had a head full of wavy curls! I was playing with my hair and admiring my reflection all day... more than usual. ;^) Any suggestions about making the product better would only be if it had the convenience of a cord that could rotate freely. But obviously, that's not a necessity.

I bought the gold plated wal-mart jobbies for my daughter (age 13) and me probably about a year ago. In no time at all the gold stuff came off and when you straightened your hair, it made it smell burnt. I had been waiting for the price to fall out on the Chi's b/c I had heard such great things about them. Since the price did not go down to what I thought was acceptable, I decided to do some comparisons based on reviews, composition, and warranties.
I found a lot of bad reviews regarding the Chi's-namely the cords shorting out. They also only had a 1 year warranty. The other option I considered, b/c they had great reviews, was the Solia. They only sported a 1 year warranty, also. The Sedu offers a 1 year warranty, but Folica adds another year. So, I nervously bought the Sedu-thinking I was losing my mind for dropping almost $100 on a hair straightener. Folica shipped it out lickety-split and it arrived the day they said it would.
My daughter said she would not spend $100 on a hair straightener, but I found after using mine a couple of times, she was coming in my bathroom every morning asking to use mine instead of her wal-mart jobbie. Go figure, huh? So, I bought her one, too, and she is thrilled! As you can tell, we are very conscious at how we spend our money, but I do not regret buying the Sedu!! I love it! It heats up in no time flat and I can curl my hair with it (see u-tube videos that are linked with the reviews), or I can straighten it. I have hair to mid-back with a slight natural wave to it and I suppose it takes me 10 min max to be done. My daughter has pretty straight hair, shoulder length, and it takes her about 5 min. She uses it to keep down the fly-aways and make it perfectly straight.
(I am thinking that the short-out in the cords (Chi's) are probably from wrapping the cord around the body of the iron for travelling, so if you can refrain from this, your iron will probably last longer.)

I have the classic "Jew Fro" and have used MANY professional flat irons. This one is the best by far. My friend who has an "Italin Fro" used it and was jealous that she didnt have one because it works so well. It will straighten your hair super fast. I recommend the 1" over the 1 1/2" because you can get closer to your roots.

I just got this flat iron a few weeks ago and I love it! I never had my hair straightened until recently. I thought it would be a pain with my thick, long Asian hair. It is so easy to straighten with my 1" sedu. I would highly recommend it. Oh, and it only takes me about 10 minutes, max!
Don't waste money on anything else!

This is the best flat iron out there! Don't waste your money on that other brand - you know which one I'm talking about - get the best. Smooth, shiney hair from roots to tips. You will not be disappointed!

I previously owned 2 Vidal Sassoon hair straighteners that costed me about 35 each. The first one was good, but it stopped turning on. The second one which I still own has been frying my hair and making it dry so I decided to buy a Sedu, hearing how much better these designer straighteners can be. I've been using it for about a month now, and it is no doubt better than the VS one, but not exactly to what I had expected from it. I cannot go back to my old straightener after the Sedu, but it also makes my hair feel dry and poofy. Does what it's supposed to do quickly, but just not 100% to my expectations.
Oh, I have straight short hair.

I had originally ordered a Chi, as that had always been the standard of an excellent iron for me, but after reading some of the user reviews on Folica.com I changed my order to the Sedu. I have been using it for almost two months now, and am pleased with it. It straightens my hair rapidly, heats up and cools off quickly. What mystifies me is why so many users compare the Sedu so favorably vs. the Chi, though - I found the Chi excellent as well, and would recommend either straightener depending on the price you can get it for.

I bought 2 of the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline 1" Flat Irons as Christmas presents for my grandaughters. They just love them, they are easy to use and both of the girls have naturally curly hair. They are so pleased with this iron. No more complaing about the cheap one they had because they now have straight shiny hair. I would definitely recommend this product. Audrey
