I've had the chi before and it was horrible on my hair I thought that it was about as good as the $20 flat irons that I've bought is the past, which is why I had a little skepticism about the sedu. I'm a black woman with very very thick hair who can't always get to the salon to get a perm. So, after reading a lot of reviews I thought what could I lose if it sucks I just return and get my money back. The first time I tried it and I haven't had a perm in a month it made my hair so straight it was like I had a perm in my hair and not only that it made is silky and soft usually after I straightened my hair it's a big frizz ball but after I finished with the sedu it laid down flat! I loved it and would recommend this flat iron to anybody.

I have been using the CHI ceramic flat iron for many years and was due for a new one. Although I was very happy with my CHI, I wanted to see what other brands of ceramic flat irons were available. After researching, I came across the Sedu flat iron and was surprised at the positive reviews. Therefore, I decided to order one for myself. After the first use, I was very happy with the results. My hair was straight and shiny, and the iron was very easy to handle. In addition to being satisfied with the product, I was very amazed at how quickly my product was delivered(less than a week to Hawaii). It took me awhile to order this product because I was very skeptical, but I am glad that I took that chance!

I have very FRIZZY CURLY hair and I let my hair air dry with no product today and when it was fully dry I ran the straightner through my hair and within 9mins it was bone straight and shiny smooth. WOW BEST DAMN STRAIGHTNER! I'm also from Canada and the sedu was here in 1 day.

Previously I had a GHD styler but there was no temperature dial so you couldn't adjust the high temperature. The Sedu is great because you can control the temperature which is great for fine hair like mine that can't take excessive heat. Very happy with it and it was half the price of the GHD!

I think I relied too heavily on product reviews for this flat iron. It does an OK job on straightening my hair, but I constantly pinch my pinky finger in the base when it reopens. OW! I also have to turn the temperature to 20 degrees above what is recommended for my hair type (from 300 to 320 for fine hair) to get ANY effect.

my daughter loves this iron. it makes her hair very silky and soft. a much quicker time in the bathroom! this iron is so much better than the typical flat iron from the local discount store. good buy...

I love how fast this flat iron heats up, love the adjustable temperature, love the heat-resistant pouch it comes with for storage. The straightening effect lasts a long time, too. This is my first flat iron and hopefully my last!

I bought this Sedu, a Chi, and a Solia all at once and I kept the Sedu. It is awesome to use! It is smooth, it glides through my hair. Just remember to use a protectant with any straightener! I like this one because it has a temperature control and an on/off switch, the Chi didn't have that and the Chi malfunctioned and totally fried my hair...boo!
I recommend this straightener!

This is a high quality, easy to use flat iron. It heats quickly and there's no static in my hair from the plates. I have fine, thick, wavy hair. I use this after drying with the Sedu hair dryer to smooth any fly-away hair and bend the ends. Perfect!
The heat proof case is an added bonus. Makes it easy to put away hot!
Folica website told me it was out of stock but I ordered anyway and surprise it arrived.Wait for this one to be back in stock if you have to...its worth it.

This is the first time I've ordered from Folica and first time I've tried a Sedu product. The flat-iron arrived within a week of ordering, even though they were out of stock at the time - thanks Folica! This is a great flat-iron. I only have experience with the one my stylist uses (a Chi) and the one I have at home (a Conair). The Sedu is so much better than the Conair!! It is so light-weight and the plates are so smooth, the iron glides effortlessly thru my hair. I also like the heat control adjustment, which the Chi doesn't have. All important factors if you have very fine, curly hair like mine, which turns out really smooth, soft and shiny. Plus, Folica provides a 2nd year of warranty free on the Sedu. All in all, a really great tool!

My hair is naturally frizzy and to boot it isn't curly or straight it is in the middle!! I have bought all different flat ironers, conair, hot tools, all junk. They just flatten your frizzy hair. My conair burnt out so I figured I might as well try this (sedu)only 30 dollars more or so. I opened the box and I was like oh this thing is so light it not going to work, what a good gimmick. I deep conditioned my hair, blew dry it straight, and addes some biosilk. I have fine hair so I didnt start it out at tnhe 410 but you do need it for tye best results! I did a section at a time! Oh, my god shiny smooth silky hair!! It looks like a salon and it does stay straight for the next day or two!! IT IS WORTH THE BEST IRON I HAVE EVER OWNED!!! This is from a girl who has tried everthing and never had great results!!!

This was my very first Flat iron. After reading several of the posted reviews about other irons I decided on the Sedu. I have naturally curly hair and everybody else loved it. I love my hair now! I had never even used a flat iron before, but it's really easy, very fast and it lasts. I'm not sure if my hair had any shine before (because of the curl - I couldn't really tell), but I do now. I don't have anything to compare my Sedu to, since I have never owned a different brand, but I love it.

This Flat Iron works exceptionally well. My husband purchased it for me for Christmas after extensive research, believing this to be even better than C*I and others. I only gave a 4 star rating because this iron does not have automatic shut-off. There are days when I'm too busy to remember to shut it off. Also, the outside of the iron gets hot to the touch. Overall, it is a good iron for the money, just remember to shut it off!!

Bought the Sedu after reading great reviews from other women of color...bad idea. The straightening effect was average. My hair is fine and wavy, not very coarse at all, but extremely frizzy. After use, I would have to wash and straighten my hair again 2-3 days later (I only like to straigthen once a week after washing). I achieve the same results with my Chi. I ended up giving it to a friend, who likes it. I replace with an H2Opro, which works a lot better.
This is a great flat iron!!

I had to wait a while to get the Sedu, due to it being backordered. I guess that should have been my first clue that it was a great product. Demand must be high. I received it a week and a half ago and finally got a chance to use it. I have really thick curly hair and this got my hair REALLY flat. I love it!!! It made it nice and silky and smooth and it looks great. It even stayed flat while I slept. I only had to quickly go over my hair to get some of the frizz out. It was definitely worth the wait. A must have. It is totally worth the price.
