This was the best straightener I've ever used! It keeps my hair straight even after I've slept on it, worn it up in a ponytail, and been dancing around all night. It heats up really fast and is easy to travel with. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a really good straightener that's not quite as expensive as the Chi.

I got the Sedu a couple of months ago but wanted to wait a little while to write a review so I could try it a few times to see if it really worked. Well, I have tried it just twice (only because i am lazy). So I think its about time to contribute my 2 cents :) I have thick wavy hair which get really frizzy even in really dry weather. I havent owned any straightener before but tried doing it with a blow dryer. It takes way too long and I just never got the salon-type results. SO I got the sedu. Its very light, doesnt pull on hair, works quickly on dry hair (I had to go over the hair twice or 3 times if they were a little damp). It is VERY quick. If I werent worried abotu the heat damage I would use it every day. I straightened my hair on thursday. Until sunday when I washed my hair again, my hair kept straight for the most part, other than a couple of waves on the back of my head, but no frizz at all. I love this thing. I hope i am able to use it enough to cover the price :)

Fantastic product. Extremely light. Fast heat up. Doesn't pull my hair at all, good temperature control on the lower settings as my hair is fine. No hair frying. Exactly what I was looking for.

I've finally upgraded to a ceramic and am lovin this one. It's so lightweight, and the size makes it easy to get real close to your roots. My hair is pretty fine and gets frizzy easily. I used to have pin straight hair until about a year ago when it started to turn curly. This iron keeps my hair straight for hours. The true test, a night out at the bar. Even after dancing for hours, my hair stayed perfect.

I love this thing. I had come to accept my curly locks but with this flat iron, I can actually get a sleek style. I highly recommend it.

I bought the Chi for my daughter a month ago. We both used the Chi and loved it. I decided to order a flat iron for myself and thought I would read reviews of other brands. After reading reviews on this site for the Sedu, I decided to order it. I am returning it and ordering the Chi. The Chi was moister on my hair and therefore made it much smoother than the Sedu. While the Sedu smoother my hair, the Chi was only one pass and with the Sedu it was at least 2 to straighten.

This straightener is awesome I ordered it monday night and I got it today..I have to say it is the best that I have ever used..and trust me I have used many such as conair...hot tools...and even chi...and this one beats them all, I highly recommend it!

This straightener is great. I have naturally curly\wavy\frizzy hair that I can make generally striaght with my blow-dryer but it always becomes puffy after a while. I am 13 years old and bought this with my own money and was worried it wouldn't work well but it works GREAT! With the Sedu straightener my hair stays pin straight, thinned out, softer, and more shinny. It takes me about the same time but it is worth it. I recomend this straightener to all

I absolutely LOVE this iron! It glides through the hair effortlessly....and doesn't pull or burn the hair! I have had Chi, Hai, etc and this definitely tops them all! Highest recommendation!

I received my Sedu yesterday and really wanted to see if I could straighten my hair without blowdrying it first. So I let it air dry that night, slept on it, woke up with big, poofy, wavy, frizzy hair...and 15 minutes later with the help of the SEDU...I have pin straight hair! And I didn't have to sweat for 25 minutes with the blowdryer on! It's obviously a little more difficult to straighten your hair without blowdrying it first and it's hard to reach your roots, but that isn't the SEDU's fault! It still came out perfect! If you have thicker hair I would probably recommend getting the 1 1/2" instead of the 1" though...it's works fine for me but I can imageine that with someone with thicker hair it might take a little longer.

I think this is a great flat iron. Actually, it's the best I've ever used. I really need a relaxer, and the Sedu made my hair look smooth and straight. Now,I can wait until pay day. :) My other flat iron made my ends look frizzy,and snagged my hair but not this one. It's also very light. I did have to pay for shipping, so if you don't live in the continental US, you might have to pay for shipping. I'm still happy with my purchase.

I had the original 1" Farouk Chi until my two year old son threw it onto the floor and broke the ceramic plates out of it. I immediatly got online to buy another...I am a straight hair fanatic...and found the Sedu. It had such great reviews that I had to try it~and let me tell you, I love it! If you're wondering which flat iron to buy, seriously, look no further!

I'm an African American women with not so coarse hair. I guess my hair is fine to mediunm texture. I bought the Sedu about two months ago and every time I use it it seemed to have burned my hair. At first I thought it was because of the temperature that it was on. But after turning it to the lowest temperature and it still did the same thing I said enough!! I'm really into healthy hair and was kinda upset when my hair was burned. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong but when I read the reviews, I saw that other women ran into the same problem. I'm sure its a good iron if you have really thick coarse hair. I'm going to exchange it for the chi iron in which I know works!!

Hear is the thing- I have the worse hair, Curly, 7 times colored, and damaged & dry, and frizzy. After coloring, even curling became a big mass of frizz.. and I use to spend 45 minutes blow drying my hair- If I have a work meeting or a date. Now, I spend 10-15 minutes, and I never blow dry my hair at all.. I shower in the night, and let it air dry, and use the iron in the morning with my round brush- kind of like blow drying except- it's so much faster, and not frustrating. My hair looks healthier and shines. I would highly recommend this for anyone who struggle with bad hair day- I love this so much that I am like a spokes person for this iron- for all my friends! In fact when I first read the reviews they were so good- that I almost wondered if Folica had paid people to write themJ- But now I know why!

i just got my sedu today and i was amazed at how fast it heated up and how hot it actually got. it usually takes me about 40 minutes to straigten my thick, extreemly wavy hair and it took about 25 minutes which is a big difference to me. i am so happy with the results. my hair is soo straight and shiny, and it stays this way for hours.

I've had this flat iron for a few months now and my hair looks great! The only small problem I've found is that I have to stop half way through doing my hair to let it reheat (even though it only takes a few seconds)- so its just about perfect to me! As recommended by my stylist, I do use a product to moisturize my hair when I'm finsihed, like Biosilk or something similar. But- this flat iron hasn't damaged my hair at all so far! I love it!

I love this straightner it works better than anything I have ever used. And in Texas how hot and humid it is my hair never gets super frizzy and out of control like it use to. I even loan it to my friends and they love it they might want one too!!

This flat iron is unbelievable. I have friends who have the Chi, which breaks after only a few months. I bought the Paul Brown, too, but wasn't too happy with it. Once I began using the Sedu, I fell in love with it! I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a great flat iron. No hair pulling, no burnt smell, quick heat up, adjustable temperature, no kinks...it's amazing!

I just tried the Sedu flatiron for the first time and it is amazing. I straightened my shoulder-length curly, frizzy hair in 7 minutes. It's now silky smooth. it will no longer take me more than 30 minutes to get these results. I'm really impressed with Sedu! thanks.
