Love this straightener. You can control the heat depending
on your hair type and the swival cord is wonderful so no tangeling. Perfect size if you want to curl hair under or have a nice little flip too. Just an all around great styling tool.

I have very curly unruly hair, I bought the sedu instead of the CHI (since I read on Folica how many people had problems) and I love it! Takes me 10 min to straighten my hair now, whereas it used to take a half an hour. Great Product!

I have thick wavy hair that bends around my face (especially because I tend to tuck it behind my ears without thinking about it). My hair is currently cut in a shortish, choppy hairstyle. Previously I had to blowdry the heck out of it and hit it with a drugstore flatiron to get anywhere near making this haircut look the way it should.
I received the Sedu 1" last week, and it really is amazing. From the first wave through the hair at the sides of my face--with the worst, dumbest-looking wave--it left it straight and shiny. I didn't even need to use full heat. It's just incredible. The reviews are true. I don't even bother blowdrying now, just let it dry naturally and then take a few minutes to straighten it later.
The unit is lightweight but obviously well-made. It heats up (and cools down) in a flash.
Bear in mind that your hair will end up considerably longer after straightening, and you may decide you need a cut immediately after receiving your iron!
I've found that the straightening seems to hold better if I *don't* use a lot of product (i.e., straightening balm) beforehand. Your mileage may vary.

This striaghtener is a much better value than the Chi and it makes my hair softer and straighter than when I used the Chi. It gets really hot and I doesn't pull at my hair and break it off. I'm very satisfied with my purchase of the Sedu.

The Sudu flat iron is wonderful! I thought about buying a Chi and read some reviews where people were having problems with it. I have very straight hair and it makes my hair smooth and silky. Thanks for review site. It really does help!

I've used this product 3 times. It's not bad..
I was hoping it would get my hair pin straight but it doesn't. Yes, it goes straight. Buuuuut the ends of my hair look all split up, and my hair is fluffy instead of pin straight.
I also bought the biosilk treatment to use prior to flat ironing it- it still looks like i have split ends.
Other than that it is a good flat iron- you only have to go over the hair peice once and it heats up quickly

I have very thick, long, relaxed hair. I used a styling creme before I use the flat iron, the results were straight, silky, smooth hair to the ends.

Originally, I, like many other people, was on this website in order to buy a Chi, but after looking at the custormer reviews, I discovered that the Sedu 1 1/2" had the best reviews.
My hair isn't very long, so I decided to buy just the one inch. I was extremely nervous about whether or not this flat iron would work as good as a Chi, and it does! I have reasonably thick, curly, and often frizzy hair, and this flat iron gets it exactly like I want it! My hair isn't perfectly pin-straight, but it is extremely straight with this flat iron. However, my favorite thing about this iron is how it stills leaves your hair with some volume, and actually looking healthy and shinier than when you began! This flat iron also keeps your hair straight throughout the entire day, and I live and San Antonio, Texas, where it is very humid!

I tried the iron and I loved that it heats quickly. It worked really well. I exchanged it because I have really short hair and it was a little too big. The Sedu iron is great but if you have really short hair I suggest the HAI Twig which is 3/8".

I read all the reviews on the Sedu as well as he Solia and Chi and I am so glad I ordered the Sedu! It works great and makes my hair shine. People at work noticed the difference immediately as I got compliments all day on my hairstyle the first day I tried it, and it was so quick! It took about half the time or less to straighten it as the cheap irons that damaged my hair. This product is great!

I have only had it for a few weeks, but I am very impressed with the results I've gotten with the Sedu Flat Iron. I am an African-American female with relaxed medium-textured wavy hair and this product has provided me with salon quality straightness and silkiness from home! I must admit I was a bit concerned about the amount of heat it takes (180-200degrees), but with limited use (once a week) and the right product to protect my hair from heat damage (I am using Biosilk Silk Therapy) I think this will be much better than the usual routine. Also, this product has temperature control which I noticed other brands like Chi do not have. If my hair gets a little frizzy or flat I've used it at about 100-120 degrees to do the trick. Overall, I am very pleased with the results and flexibility in which this can be used. Well worth the money you save overtime compared to trips to the salon!

I've had my Sedu for about a month now, and I am very satisfied. I am just waiting to see how well it works when the humidity gets bad in the summer. The only downfall I've had is that it burnt the hell out of me this morning, but that was my own fault.

I've gone through a good deal of flat irons and have to say this is by far the best. My last one was the Solano Sapphire and it was good, but this is WAY better. My daughter has VERY curly hair. When it's curly, it's at the top of her shoulders. When I flat ironed it, it's down to the middle of her back! Makes your hair nice and shiny and doesn't pull. I really got it for me (1-inch). Now I'm going to get the 1-1/2 inch one for all my daughters. They love it!

I really researched flat irons and had heard so much about Chi but was concerned when I read reviews about it shorting out. My sister in law got a flat iron for Christmas also. Hers was the brand Infra Shine and was recommended by her hairstylist. We compared our flat irons and the Sedu was superior. It flattens your hair without turning the iron heat setting all the way up. The plates are amazing and really do make your hair so smooth and shiny! I have been so happy with this flat iron!

The Sedu flatiron worked but I had tried the Platform iron by PureBeauty a few times before and liked what that did for my hair better. I need to get close to the roots and found it was hard to do with a 1" iron than with the 3/4 " by Platform.
Just as good as CHI

I actually clicked on this website to purchase a CHI. It is used by my salon, so I knew it was awesome. Then, I read all of the reviews that said CHI breaks frequently and has poor wiring. So, I took a risk and purchased a SEDU, hoping it was as good as a CHI. It is!
I have thick hair, and it is curly. I love how the SEDU makes it look so healthy and shiny. My old flat iron always left my ends dry and brittle looking. The SEDU is effective at straightening my hair with one or two strokes, unlike my old Revlon iron which took forever. Overall, the SEDU is great. I love it. I think it is great how I can wear a ponytail all day, take it out and still have stick straight hair. I love it!
So, if you are looking for a flat iron...I do love the CHI, but with such a good reputation for NOT breaking, I see the SEDU as an equally nice option!

Whoa...me or my hair must have been in a weird mood when I posted my previous review. This iron is AWESOME!!!It gets my hair sooo straight and silky and the results are amazing with the Smooth.look Iron Smoother. With my gold n' hot flat iron, i eould have to run it over my hair ten times to get it decent, and then in an hour or two it was poofy again. with this flat iron, the results stay for a long time. this morning in first period (we don't do anything), I flat ironed my best friend's hair and the results were amazing! She has hair down past her waist and its wavy and a bit frizzy at the ends. After I flat ironed it, it was so straight and smooth and even though the vidal sassoon flat iron i got her for christmas straightens her ends a little better, the sedu was more gentle and didnt snag her hair like the other one. The sedu is a great product.

I have had very short curly hair for years and have wanted to grow it longer, but because of the curl and thickness, I could never get past the "in-between"stage without giving up and cutting it super short again. When I tried growing it out, my hair always looked BIG (which was fine when livin in the 80's...)
Thanks to the Sedu 1" straightener, I'm able to keep my hair sleek, straight and manageable and am finally able to let it grow out without the frustration I experienced for years!
My hair is still short, but I'm able to easily work with the Sedu 1" iron. It's light and easy to manage; especially for a flat-iron novice like me! It heats up quickly and cools down fast too, and leaves my hair shiny and soft; not fried and dried.
The product is a God-send and worth every penny I paid for it.
It arrived at my door less than 48 hrs after ordering it. Great job guys!! Can you recommend a good smoothing product to use with the iron to keep my growing hair in great shape??

I received my new Sedu flat iron for X-mas and I love it. I had been using a Wigo, but it pulled my hair fairly bad. I was amazed at how small and light the Sedu is. It heats up very quickly and cools down fast as well. It is easy on my hair and does a great job of straightening. It also leaves my hair very shiny. I would absolutely recommend the Sedu flat iron.
