This was my very first flat iron and because it was I did research into the 'flat iron' products. I found that Sedu was reccommended amoung the top 5 flat irons and with that in mind decided to purchase it. This I am very pleased with my purchase and have been raving to my friends and hair stylist about its performance. I read about the other flat irons and the plates falling off and I am glad that I did the neccessary leg work before purchasing any products. I am very pleased with the craftsmanship, ergonomic shape, lite weightness and the overall appearance of this product. When I use the Sedu Ceramic Flat Iron, I get the same feel from my hair that I have when I leave the hair salon. This was well worth the cost, I will use & reccommend this webiste to family and friends alike.

I have no complaints at all about this flat iron. It was for my daughters bday and she loves it. I have also used it too and I think it works great. I have to say recently I did buy a Chi Flat iron for myself after using a cousin's Chi and the Chi is better and only $10 more. Nonetheless, the Sedu is an excellent item and perfect for my daughter!

I really like the sedu iron.. My hair look so beutifull since I use it.
The only problem I found with the product is that it is difficult to keep. I would like to get a portable base to put that in the wall and then keep my flat iron in there.

I've had my SEDU Flat Iron for about two months now, and I have to say I absolutely LOVE IT! I've been using flat irons for MANY years and after "burning out" the inexpensive versions, I finally decided to "splurge" on the SEDU and I haven't been disappointed yet. It's extremely light weight and heats FAST! It doesn' pull at all, it just glides. I also have a SOLIA, which works great. But given a choice I'd choose the SEDU. I definitely recommend this one if you're going to spend the money.

I have only used the Chi flat iron in the past and when mine was not working I decided to try this one. I did not like the way this flat iron felt on my hair or in my hand. It dragged and snagged my hair and the body of it was not easy to hold or manipulate. As troublesome as the Chi can be, it is far superior to most.

I was deciding between the sedu and the solia iron. I got both and gave the solia to my mom. now i wish i took the solia. when i use the solia, my hair is shinier, smoother, and straighter than the sedu. the sedu sometimes dries out my hair. it is more maneuverable, however, than the solia. oh yeah, but my sedu broke after about 2 1/2 months. i got a replacement, but it was a hassle.

Though I'm Korean I wasn't blessed with the perfectly straight smooth hair. I have been through quite a few straighteners and was pleased with one I had purchased nearly four years ago. I was skeptical of getting a different one, since my old straightener had been so loyal to me. I found this website and decided to purchase the Sedu 1" after reading all the great reviews. I must admit that this straightener is the BEST I've ever used. It made my hair feel SUPER soft and smooth in an extremely short amount of time. And I'm the girl who wouldn't let go of my 5 pound straightener! My hair is long and thick, but the 1" is fine for those of you who don't have out of control, long, thick curly hair.
Oh yes, one more thing. Since the Sedu 1" is so thin, it'll be easy for those of you with curly hair to get right up to your roots! I like to put the straightener right up to my roots so it looks like I have some volume up top rather than having it completely flat.
I definitely suggest purchasing this product!
Another reason I bought the Sedu 1" because DJ Zookie who is a hairdresser purchased one, and I figured if he can manage with it, so could I.

I just bought this in January so that I would have a backup. I had a HAI stick loved it bought another to keep at work but was disappointed because the ready indicator light was now on the inside and you can barely see it. I love this Sedu it is so light, the plates are so slick and glide through my hair. It heats up quickly and cools down fast. It is smaller than my HAI stick but is perfect for my chin length bob. I love that it has an idicator light and temp controls on the outside, nothing to snag on my hair on the inside. I got a good deal on a CHI in December but had to return it because of no temperature controls, my hair was smoking. So far, no complaints. Was shipped quickly.

I have medium/long curly frizzy hair and this hair iron is by far the best one I've purchased. I just pass it once and my hair is super straight.
The only time I've gotten it so straight is by going to the salon! It also leaves your hair smoothe and shiney. I like the 1 in. because I can reach the waves closer to my scalp. I hope it lasts!

very nice product, does heat up very fast with little to no hair tugging, no burning, very lightweight, daughter is hair cosmetologist and she likes it a lot too.
My sister ttried it and purchased the wider one. my only regret is that I didn't get the 1.5" model for myself. If there is any downside it is the length of the heating surface, only about 3" compared to others like hot tools, wigo which are 3.5" so need to do narrower sections of hair, overall very pleased.

Yeah i know that's what everyone else says but they're right. Before i would have to go over and over the same piece of hair but now only once! I can even let my curly FRIZZY hair air dry and stil get it straighter than i've ever seen it!I don't even need to use any product anymore. It's a beautiful thing. Unbelievable really. Definitely worth the money i promise.

I originally came to this website to buy a CHI. All my friends use them and love them, but then I became concerned when I read about how they break within 6 months. I liked the reviews I read on the SEDU but was nervous it would not be as good as the CHI. I am happy to say that is by far better than the CHI. I have kind of thick, kind of wavy hair, so I need a straightener more as a finishing tool. I like how the SEDU is ultra smooth and allows you to control the temperatue, unlike the CHI which i found was far too hot for my hair. The Sedu leaves my hair shinier, with less frizz, and more volume than the CHI did. The SEDU is definitely becoming the next big iron.

I am a black woman with long but chemically treated, coarse hair. I've conducted a tremendous amount of research on products that are effective but not damaging to my hair. I love this iron!!!!
I received it on Monday and used it immediately. I straightened my hair quickly and the shine is incredible. To protect my hair, I condition it faithfully and I use a Flat Iron Straightening spray (Ion Anti-Frizz Straight Solutions Heat Protection found at Sally's Beauty Supply Stores)
Let me say that I've purchased the following flat irons:
Ion Anti-Frizz Ionic Ceramic Straightening Flat Iron from Sally's Beauty Salon - great results but the iron has little teeth on the sides that pulls out the hair. Additionally it did not have adjustable heat settings. VERY BAD. I can use the SEDU on 180c and it works perfectly.
True Ceramic Pro - As seen on TV - terrible results. I had to use the iron at the highest setting (400c) and it still left me with frizzy hair. Plus the plates were chipped and they only carried a 6 month warranty.
Hot Tools Ceramic - piece of crap. Nothing more to say.
I purchased the 1" because I wanted the versatility of being able to create curls. I am incredibly happy with the results. In fact, it snowed today and my hair has not reverted to a frizzy status and I still have my curls! At this point, I'm hoping to discontinue relaxing my hair and go from conditioning to straightening.
The Folica website is incredibly helpful as well. Reading the reviews allows the consumer to make an educated decision.

Ok .. i was told it would take about 2-6 days for shipping. It got here on tuesday so it was 2 dayz .. i was thinkin since im in Canada it would take like 4-6ish days. anyways the straightener is great ... so far no problems and more than pleased.. at least no one will have the same flat iron at work too so i wont lose it lol ... but so far amazing service and product i would buy it if i was u .. im a guy so i dont flat iron my hair but it works amazing on the clients

I just started apprenticing at a salon in Toronro Area Canada. I was told by one of my senior stylists and educators that the chi iron was one of the best on the market. I came looking to buy a chi but after reading all the problems about them and noticing that some of the problems were apparrent on my senior stylists iron i decided to look for a different iron but of equal quality. I really appreciate everyones reviews which helped me select the SEDU straightener and hopefully when it arrives it is as good as you all say .. i will write another review when it gets here
