It does what it says it will do.
My sister borrowed it and straigtened her curly hair in about 7 minutes. It heats up fast and glides smooth.
Well worth the money.
Very Happy

I have thick, long frizzy hair and Sedu performs miracles. It has the necessary heat settings to get hair really straight, stays consistently hot and is easy to use. I like the 1" because it gives me more control near the hair line.
It glides without pulling my hair out and leaves my hair sliky smooth. Also, I noticed it doesn't compromise color. The plates could be a little longer to provide more surface, but the length does not affect splendid results. I cannot comment on product reliability as I haven't owned it long enough.
Not a Good Choice!!!!

I just received my new Sedu one inch flat iron, and was greatly diappointed. It did about as good as my cheap conair flat iron that I bought for $20. I did not like the fact that I could not touch the tip of the iron either because it was way too hot. I can work a flat iron, and this was difficult. Even the Wigo I had worked better than this, my hair is still frizzy. I think I will try the Solia next.

I ABSOLUTELY love this flat iron. It makes my hair feel silky. I have course thick wavy hair and it makes my hair feel smooth. I've tried the chi but didn't like how it felt on my hair. I really like the smooth surface because it glides through with ease. I HIGHLY recommend this flat iron. I also want to greatly thank Folica for the Super Fast shipment. I live in Canada and ordered on a Sunday and received it on Tuesday! Thanks Folica!!
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

If I were to rate this iron based on what it does for my hair, I would definitely give it 5 stars. If it were an option I would give it 10 stars. I have very fine, very curly hair and this iron just glides through with one swipe and makes it straight, shiny and perfect. It does all of this and it lasts through humidity, rain, snow etc. Those of us with curly hair know that no matter how great your hair may look at home, once you are outside in less than perfect conditions... POOF...there goes your great style. This iron prevents that, so yes, it is a great flat iron.
I gave it three stars because despite the fact that it performs miracles on my hair, it has apparently died after only having it about 6 months. This happened before, but I just pressed the red tester button on the plug and it worked again. However, this time it seems that nothing gets it to work. It just refuses to turn on. I did not use this iron everyday and I never had it on the highest setting so I don't think this happened because I over used it. I would love to buy another but I just can't bring myself to spend money on a product that might die on me. So hopefully I can find a ceramic flat iron that works as well and lasts me longer than 6 months!!!
Finally - easy straight hair!

I have fine, long, frizzy chemically treated hair (lots of highlights) - too curly to be straight, and too straight to be curly. This flat iron makes straightening your hair easy - and it doesn't even frizz in damp weather.
I blow it dry as straight as I can in about 5 or 10 minutes, put on a tiny amount of heat protectant, use a low setting on the flat iron, and in 5 minutes my hair is straight and shiny and stays that way till I wash it again! I have had it a couple of weeks, and love it! I haven't used any others so I don't have anything to compare it with, but I can't inagine being without it. I can get caught in the wind, humidity, etc., and my hair no longer frizzes up. It has a very!! long cord, adjustable settings, and heats up quickly. It is easy to use, and my hair is shinier than it ever was without it. I haven't tried it without blow drying yet. Finally, I am no longer at the mercy of my hair's whims or the weather...my hair is easy and it stays the same way all day! I have a new life! This company was easy to deal with, customer service answered my pre-purchase questions well, and shipping was speedy. They provide the warranty if I do have any problems with it.

I am African American with curly hair. This iron is great. My hair was very soft and had great texture after using the iron. I live in Houston,TX which is very humid and my hair remained straight. I only had to use the iron once every three or four days for my hair to stay straight. Cudos to Sedu.
Sedu: not all its cracked up to be, buy a CHI

I bought a Sedu after reading all of the postiive review it received on this website. Bottom line when it arrived: not impressed at all. I just bought a CHI and it got my hair much straighter, The Sedu gets too hot to even touch at the end of the straightener and it pulls hairs out of your head. NOT FUN. Alot of people on the reviews have had terrible luck with their CHI, such as the iron suddenly stops working or breaks. CHI carries a one year warranty, if it stops working sent it to CHI they will repair it. As for the SEDU, it sucked, not worth the price and you can tell its cheap. Also straightening your hair is not good for it, only do it once or twice a week or you will end up with tara reid hair. People who say that some flat irons wont damage your hair are wrong, think about it,. Good luck on the conquest for the perfect straightener, but remember CHI is better! Have a wonderfull day....;

I really love this flat iron. I was leery of spending so much on a flat iron, especially online. I was also afraid the high heat might damage my hair. However, I'm very pleased with this product. I've been using it for about 3 weeks and my hair actually seems to be in better shape. No more friz and it really shines! This flat iron will heat up to 400 degrees, but I use it at less than 200 degrees and it does a great job.
No regrets about this purchase.

I have been a Chi user for at least 2 years and was always pleased with the product, but found similar problems to others that I had to replace it twice due to electrical problems. I bought the Sedu based on other reviews and loved it. It works better than the Chi and is much lighter and easier to work with.

I have straight, heavy hair that has a body wave. The Sedu iron did a nice job of straightening it. It heats up in a split second and does get very hot, so be careful and start at lower settings. The only draw back to this iron is that it does not have a stand to balance it on. I would highly recommend this product. Folica was wonderful. My order arrived in one day.

I am an African-American woman with medium length hair. I found this flat iron to be the best product I have used thus far. This flat iron heats up extremely quick. It is easier for me to do my hair. Now I can eliminate one step, I no longer have to use a curling iron. I can straighten and curl at the same time or wear it straight. It leaves my hair manageable even upon awakening in the morning.
Thanks for all the reviews but I would like to especially say "thank you" to Victoria from DC. I purchased the Ion Anti-Frizz Straight Solutions Heat Protection from Sally's Beauty Supply store and it was a great help for straghtening, shining and soothing my dry ends.
Still Great!

About three months ago I decided to purchase I nice, expensive hair straightener. After much research, I decided to give the Sedu a shot.
I must say that I am extremely pleased with the results! The Sedu heats up in less than 30 seconds, has an adjustable temperature (I do about 160 degrees Celcius), keeps my hair straight the entire day, and gets my hair perfectly straight in 15-20 minutes. Now, this might seem like a long time for most of you all, but my hair is pretty curly, and annoyingly stubborn (I had to go over each section about five times with my old, $75 ceramic flat iron). I know that most of you are concerned about the damage this might cause to your hair, but I am happy to say that my hair looks, and feels just as healthy, if not more, as it did before I bought this flat iron.
However, I would still recomend using a hear protectant and not straightening every day. In the past, I have owned three different straighteners (A super cheap one from target that lasted me about a day, a Vidal Sasson (pretty good for your money, lasted me about three months and only costs $30, but doesn't keep your hair straight the whole day), and a nice, slightly expensive ceramic flat iron from my salon (lasted me about a year). I have to say that the Sedu is MUCH better than all three of them. I have also tried a friends CHI a couple of times, and I still like my Sedu better. I must admit that the CHI does get my hair straiter, but, in the process, I feel as if the CHI burnt my hair (400 degrees temperature!) and my hair lost almost all of its volume and became almost flat. The reason the Sedu is so great is the fact that it keeps my hair straight through almost all levels of humitity (which is a BIG problem here in Texas), and manages to let your hair look healthy and full while still being sleek, shiney, and straight. Hope I helped!
