Product Rating: 4 So far so good...
Reviewer: Amanda from Nashville, TN  Thu Jul 07 2005

I rated this product above average as opposed to excellent only because I have only had the straightener a short period of time, and I also have very fine hair that is easy to straighten, so there are many aspects that don't include me. However, I am very pleased with the product after having it only a month. It heats up quickly, and straightens easily, I also love the temp. control because due to my fine hair, it breaks easily and doesn't need as high of a temperature. The plates glide through your hair without ripping or pulling, which are problems I had with my CHI and cheaper versions. It also leaves my hair looking healthy and very shiny. I recommend this straightener over CHI any day.

Having naturally curly hair and living in a humid city doesn't help in the straightening process. This iron is awesome. I use half the product and it stays straight!

This is a great flat iron. Lightweight--smooth action. I originally purchased the larger size but exchanged it for the one inch. This size gives me more styling control for my layered shoulder-length hair and bangs.

I waited 7 months before writing this review, and I'm still as thrilled with my Sedu flat iron as I was the first time I used it. I have extremely long and wavy hair, and a lot of it to boot. The Sedu straightens it in no time flat. I spend less than 10 minutes on the entire style, and the straightening lasts for days. I chose the Sedu because of all the wonderful reviews it had received. I was considering a Chi, but several buyers at the time reported that theirs broke soon (within a year) after purchase. I also liked the fact that the Sedu had an adjustible temperature. My only complaint is that the cord is so dang long (like 10 feet) that it kind of gets in my way, but that just makes it more enticing for salon use. I would definitely buy it again! Remember, the thinner the width of the iron, the more flexiblity you have to style your hair. I chose the 1-inch and I'm glad I did.

I am so happy with my purchase. This straightener is amazing. My hair is so crazy and it is hard to find a good straightener. It's worth every penny...I love it!

Of all the flatirons i have used, this one is hands down the best. With temperature settings that allow you to control the heat, the sedu ionic ceramic flat iron is indeed a professional purchase. My hair is particularly thin, and this product creates a smooth, fly-away free style that works with my busy on-the-go schedule. I travel a lot with work, and its size is perfect for packing. You will never have a bad hair day again!

Product Rating: 5 very good for thin damaged hair.

This iron straightened my hair, but it left my hair looking no where near as great as the chi results. My hair felt crunchy and really damaged after I used the sedu, I had to choose between the chi and the sedu and Im sticking with my chi.

This is the best flattening iron we have owned and we like it better than the Hai or the the Chi. I have tried them all. My hair slides easily through the iron and it has never snagged or smelled burned. I highly recommend it especially for fine hair. I would recommend the larger 1 1/2'' for longer, thicker, or coarse hair. Enjoy!

I highly recommend this flat iron straightener, it is well worth the price. I thought my daughter was crazy when I first heard how much the professional irons cost but when I saw the results,I was sold.

Hola, I'm from mexico, when I got here, I wanted to get a good flat iron, & I heard a lot about the chi, so I used it once, and it was ok, it made my hair real straight, but kinda like heavy and weird, with no life, so I looked over the sedu,I found it cheapest and I liked it, so I ordered it, now I'm using it and I love this thing, It is light weight, it real straights hair, and the best of it, it makes your hair smooth & shiny, and it looks healthy, the only thing I don't like, is that it gets too hot on the outside, and I'm always burning myself, so I'm thinking about putting some kind of termal fabric, on the grips,(like the chi) so I don't get hot, Get it like a tip.

My hair is thick, coarse, and damaged beyond belief (it's been bleached through-and-through at least 6 times). No, this straightener doesn't give me Cameron Diaz's hair, nothing could at this point, but it only takes two times over and my bangs are set straight and shiny for the day. Even in the wind. It's worth the cash, in my opinion.

Product Rating: 5 I love my Sedu!!!!!
Reviewer: Melisa   Wed Jun 22 2005

I love my Sedu!! My Chi iron broke, so I had to buy a new iron. I read all the wonderful reviews about the Sedu and decided to try it. I am so glad that I did! I have very thick wavy hair and it straightens it beautifully! My hair looks and feels so soft! I love how easy it is to use. It just glides over my hair. Excellent product!!!

My hair is naturally wavy, curly after a swim in the pool and frizzy in humid weather. I use to literally use an iron when I was in high school because back then they didnt have hot irons like they do now just to tame my frizz but once the moist New Zealand air got to it, bam!! back to frizz and wave.
Here in Hawaii the weather has given me an eternal wavy and frizz hair...so once I tried this product you can imagine people's response. I recieved alot of compliments from friends and associates for the new hair style and some didnt even recognise me.
I am pleased with this product its a deal!!! The only thing I would suggest is you may need good shampoo and conditioning products to keep your hair in good health if you use your iron alot...aloha.

hello i am up dating my last review i wrote, well i went to the salon as i said with my iron and had them try it and the results were not any different, i ended up returning my sedu 1" iron. I do not like this iron at all, it made my hair look frizzy and dry, and (IT DOES NOT GET HOT AT ALL,) i am not to happy, this iron is no where near the money they want for it, it was cheap plastic.

Reviewer: heather from seattle, wa  Fri Jun 17 2005

this flat iron is great, heats up in about 10 seconds, and is very efficient. the smaller width allows for getting closer to the root of hair for even straightening. although ceramics are supposedly safer for your hair, this thing gets pretty hot and i wouldn't straighten my (fine, thin)hair more than a few times a week. i had originally set out to buy the chi because it is what my stylist had used on my hair, but read multiple reviews saying that it broke easily. i have found that this iron works just as well. no complaints on this one so far.

This is a great iron, and I've tried MANY! I have very tight, small curls, which I've always relaxed. Now I can straighten my roots with no chemicals! I can't wait till my hair grows out fully so I can then wear it curly or straight anytime!

Reviewer: Rae Noblet from St. Joseph, Mo.  Thu Jun 16 2005

As a day shift nurse, my mornings now start later. The quick, easy to use, wonderful results obtained over my last iron give me great hair in 5 minutes compared to 20-30 minutes. Lasts all day into the next! Superior product to not only my iron but the one currently used at the our local salon of choice.

Product Rating: 2 THIS BURNS YOUR HAIR!!!
Reviewer: Burnt onTop from philadelphia, PA  Wed Jun 15 2005

I bought this flat iron because I saw such great reviews for it. It was great at first. See I already have straight hair I just used it to make my hair sleek with no kinks. So I don't have to use a very high setting. For the first couple months it did a great job, but then the lowest setting would not work. A couple months later the next lowest would not work. Then only 180-200 was the only ones that would work. Everytime I would turn the iron on it smelled like something was burning. I stopped using it. When I wanted my hair to look sleek one day I decided to use it again instead of blow drying it. BIG MISTAKE!! My hair is colored more on the top than the bottom. So the bottom layers were fine at 180-200 setting. when I got to the top it fried my hair. Now the top layer of my hair is fried and I have really long hair that I don't want to part with. So I am comstantly cutting layers into the top to get rid of the damage. I have to dye my hair dark (even though I like it light) to hide the damage because it's right on top. I now that I should not have used it but this piece of !@#$ broke like this after 3-6 months of use. If you invest this type of money into a product for your hair it literally SHOULD NOT BURN YOU!! Might as well buy a cheap iron if this is going to happen. Folica let me return it but never again will I buy a Sedu, I love my hair WAY TOO MUCH!!!
