This hot iron is definitely worth the money spent. Since receiving my Sedu flat iron, I've used it at least five times. The first time I plugged it in, I expected it to take at least ten minutes to heat up. To my surprise, the unit was at full heated capacity immediately! Be careful. This unit is HOT. But, if you take your time, and section off your hair in manageable sections, the results are amazing.
Ummm...Overrated

I just recently have been buying and returning flat irons in search of the best one. Sedu seemed like the big buzz. It did run very smoothly through my hair, made it feel thinner, but not very straight. I had frizz everywhere. I have aweful hair. It's not curly or wavy, I like to call it fro! For others who don't have stubborn hair I do recommend it. I had a Chi which I loved, but definitely died in 3 months. Folica rocks and should be sending my solia soon! Hope this helps!
It's okay I guess...

I have wavy frizzy hair and I prefered the Hai flat iron that I previously purchase to this one.

before i got my sedu, i had a conair "ceramic" flat iron and i HATED it--it pulled my hair, often breaking it, left it feeling totally beat up and heat-damaged. i had terrible split ends.
one of the my favorite things about the sedu iron was the temperature control. this is important: you will NOT damage your hair if you set the temperature at the right level for YOUR hair! you can experiment and see what you like; i have thick, wavy, coarse, frizzy, ugly hair and i set my temp about 180-185C and it works great. and it only takes 25 seconds to heat up. i timed it. ;)
somehow, it instantly makes my hair feel really smooth and soft (and straight!)
it's quite an impressive little flat iron. :)
Time will tell, but so far so good.

I'm looking forward to this iron lasting longer without losing heat, which I've had issues with with cheaper irons. But it's super smooth on my hair, heats fast and I like the adjustable settings. All in all, I think this was a good buy

I have had this flat iron for about 6 months and typically straighten my hair a couple of times a week. I can wash my hair before bed, let it dry overnight, and then straighten it in the morning. It usually takes me about 8 minutes to straighten my long, thick hair. The heat settings are good and give me some control. My only complaint is that my hair is often left looking as though I have straightened it: stick straight, little body, no flow. I expect it might help if I did blow dry my hair, but I'm pleased with the product overall.
Best Warranty & Customer Service Too!

This is actually a follow up to my purchase made eight months ago...I love this Sedu flat iron! I use it almost everyday (I say almost because my hair stays "flipped" when I first style it, then I'll just "touch up" for the next couple of days)
However a few weeks ago it suddenly stopped working, but because Folica handles the warranty, all I had to do was call customer service (who was very nice & helpful) who instructed me to send it back for a replacement...no questions asked! I did exactly what they said and within ten working days I recieved my replacement iron! WOW! It couldn't have been easier! So that's just one more GREAT reason to get the Sedu!

I always had a full head of long, wavy, hair until recently last year my hair started to get very thin and by itself it started to get shorter and shorter. I couldn't get to the bottom of it so i went to my hair lady and she told me that it could have been caused by my hair iron which might have been breaking off the bottom of my hair, giving off the illusion that my hair was not growing. I don't really straighten my hair anymore because I am trying to let it get healthy but I got the Sedu for when I do straighten it. I've used it a few times and it seems to work pretty well. It doesn't get all that hot but my old iron used to go up to 400 degrees and this one only 200 but I guess that its better for your hair like that.
Not happy with the Sedu

I have been using the chi flat iron for about 4years, and have really enjoyed the chi, but wanted to try a new product. I was not at all happy with the sedu flat iron. It made my hair soft but the flat iron does not get hot enough. Max temps up to 200 degrees. It took me double the time to do my hair. It did keep my hair straight, even in the Florida humidity, but if you want a flat iron that has a low heat setting, this is the one for you. I sent it back to Floica, and got the 1" Solia. I LOVE IT!!!
love it

When I first bought my Sedu, I was in awe. It never made my hair feel damaged but silky and smooth. I didnt' have to put any chemicals or oil in my hair to make it shiney. Sedu did all of that. Its quick to heat up and doesn't pull on your hair, it slides on smoothly.. This is the best hair straightener ever!!!!
Best ceramic iron ever!!!

I was completely blown away the first time I used it. I had 2 Chi's before I purchased the Sedu, so I was a little skeptical. After the first time I used it I was convinced. The Sedu glides through hair like glass. I couldn't have made a better chioce. Thank you Folica!!!

This is my first flat iron, and I love it! It is super easy to use, TRULY heats up in about 30 seconds, and takes a total of about 12 minuted to iron my whole head of medium-length hair. Believe the hype!

i definitely recommend this straighter since it heats up very quick, in a matter of seconds, and has cut the time it would usually take me to fix my hair. Now I dont have to wake up an hour early before I leave for work. Its a MUST HAVE. Ive had no problems with this product whatsover. If i did, i would let everyone know. Its worth the money!
Using Sedu

I am very pleased with the Sedu flat iron. It is the first high end straightener I have purchased. It performs as advertised leaving the hair straight and shiny. The external housing is very hot to the touch though. I read that this was a drawback to this item however, as I have not used any other "quality" iron, I don't know if this is normal or not. I agree, it's not pretty but it certainly works well. I do like the adjustable heat as I work with a varity of hair types. Plates are amazingly smooth!
BTW, Folica was easy to deal with and recommend them - item
was shipped as I requested using 2nd. day air (needed it in a hurry) and it arrived suitably packaged.
it's like all the others

I read all the other reviews thinking "Hey this sounds like a great flat iron" but, that wasn't the case. It's not like it doesn't work or anything, it works. Just like every other one I've ever tryed. So I wasn't really impressed.

I have been very happy with my Sedu flat iron. I purchased the 1 inch. It heats up very fast about 30 seconds. My hair is medium thickness, wavy/curly and very frizzy. This flat iron makes my hair look shiny, smooth, and very straight. I'm not sure that it cuts down on stylinng time but my results are so much better the time is now worth it to me. I do save some time on blow drying though because now I either let my hair dry naturally or I just blow it dry without trying to use a round brush. With my old flat iron, I would have to first try and straighten my hair while blow drying and then go over it several times with the flat iron and it still wasn't perfectly straight and as soon as I got outside my hair would start to get poofier and eventually start to curl. With the Sedu flat iron my hair stays straight all day even in humidity and its even still straight the next day. My hair stylist uses the Chi flat iron on my hair and I think it works about the same as the Sedu maybe even slightly better but I have read so many reviews about the Chi short circuiting. I just couldn't justify spending the money on a Chi knowing that there was a huge chance it would stop working after a few months. Anyways, I'm very happy with my Sedu - it was money well spent. I have also been very happy with Folica.com
A GREAT INVESTMENT!

I bought my sedu from folica.com about three months ago. I absolutly love the results I get. I have thick naturally curly hair. I was used to using a cheap straightner that you can buy at any drugstore. When I went to a professional salon they advised me that I should think about getting a nice flat iron, because it was damaging my hair (because it wasn't getting hot enough). The sedu heats up in a matter of seconds, and I only have to pull my hair through once to get it straight. The cheap straightner was damaging my hair because I had to go over the same sections several times and within hours it would start getting wavy again. When I use my sedu my hair stays straight all day long!
