This flat iron is over-priced and does not work that well for me. I have fine, naturally curly hair (3a/3b), but lots of it, and it’s long (mid-back). Despite the numerous reviews (by women who have the same type of hair as mine), I cannot get the stellar results they seem to have achieved. I have to blow dry first with a round brush and THEN use the Sedu, which means it’s taking me LONGER to straighten my hair. And even then, I don’t get the incredible amount of shine that some people do, nor is my hair full of body and "swing". Also, the Sedu does not make my hair humidity-resistant. After about an hour, the top layer of my hair begins to "poof" and loose its smoothness.
For now, I’m just stick with my blow dryer and round brush, which give my hair plenty of shine and body, and in the meantime I'll save my pennies for the much-loved and coveted GHD iron.

I bought the 1" Sedu for my daughter and she loves it. It's smooth and doesn't pull her hair. It's wide enough to do her long hair and makes it look so very pretty. It's the best and worth the money in my opinion.

I had the hardest time finding a flat iron that would work on my coarse hair. I heard great things from other African Americans and thought i would give the Sedu a try. It works really great along with leave in conditioner. It's worth the money and cuts down on the amount of relaxers needed.

I bought this iron in December and loved it until recently it didn't seem to be heating up to the proper degree. I am a hair stylist so tonight while doing my clients hair (which is very thick and course) my iron wouldn't heat up enough to smooth her her I was so embarrassed. What normally would have taken me 5-10 min. took almost an hour. I called customer service and thankfully I have a 2 year warranty so I will be sending it back for a new one, sucks that I have to pay for the shipping though.
Great Product! Makes my hair feel silky!

I have been using a straightener for about 10 years, and so far the Sedu has been the best. It makes my hair silky smooth and it stays that way all day.

I purchased a Sedu 1" Flat Iron 3 weeks ago from Folica.com. I color my roots every 2 weeks due to premature grey hair and have been doing so for the past 20 years. My hair is dry and frizzy therefore I have been using a drugstore curling iron to achieve some sort of a hair style 6 days a week. For the amount of damage I have created on my hair over the years I can honestly say after 1 use, my hair has never looked healthier and has tons of shine. I was quite frankly shocked at the results. I have wasted so much money on conditioners, hair masks and hair treatment products I could have easily purchased 10 Sedu Flat Irons in the past 5 years! It is worth the money. It makes a huge difference on the appearence of your hair and is easy to use.
Poor customer service by Sedu!!!

I purchased this flariron just over a year and loved it. Just a few weeks ago though, it just stopped working with no warning. I emailed Sedu several times and have never gotten a reply. I was not expecting a replacement, but it would have been good customer service to apologize for a defective product.
I would not recommend a Sedu product to anyone for this reason. Their flatirons are too pricey to only last a year, and to not respond to a customer is unforgiveable to me.

This flat iron works better than any flat iron I've ever used. In the past with other flat irons it has taken me 45min to 1 hour to do my hair now I'm done in less than 30min. I have wavy,coarse hair that is difficult to style. I use this iron every day and I have not had any problems with my hair getting heat damage. It leaves my hair soft and shiny. In the past using other flat irons I've also had problems with static while I try to use the iron that doesn't happen with this iron. I have told all my friends about this iron.

This company took back a straightner that was already out of warranty and gave me a brand new one. That was really nice. I will buy all my hair care needs from Folica from now on.

I use to go to get my hair done at the salon every 2 weeks or so because the flat iron my hairdresser used on my hair would leave it nice and shiny and hair would look nice until I went back. I searched and searched for a flat iron that would do the same to my hair because I wanted to save some money by doing my own hair. I came across Folica.com in my search, read the reviews for this product, saw the before and after pictures and thought I would give it a chance. BINGO!! I SCORED BIG TIME! Since using the Folica flat iron I have not gone back to my hairdresser and I'm saving money. Now my best friend has me styling her hair with the Folica flat iron and she too has not returned to the hairdreser. This is the best product and smartest investment I've ever done. This iron is amazing. It's the first truly professional iron I've ever purchased and it's fantastic. I had a True Ceramic Pro before this and it does not even compare. The fact that I don't have to pass it over and over again makes a world of difference in the time it takes to do my hair. I have long, thick, frizzy hispanic hair and this truly did cut my straightening time in half, from and hour to just about 30, 35 minutes. The super smooth plates do not tug or break my hair at all. And since it only takes one pass, it really helps in regards to damage control. Flips well, leaves it soft and shiny, and even tackles those times when I test it using thicker sections of hair. Absolutely worth every penny, would purchase again and again!!

i initially came to folica with intentions of buying a CHI flat iron, like the one my friend has that i've used several times. after reading the reviews, i chose to get the Sedu 1". i LOVE it. i was shocked when i opened the box at how TINY it is. it works a million times better than the CHI and it's cuter, too!

I have had this really cheap flat iron, got it from Wall mart it was like 15 dollars, and it has done a lot of damage to my hair so I wanted to get a really good one and I did, the sedu is the best flat iron I have tried. It just came in the mail today and when I opened the box I was shocked at just how light the flat iron was. Then I ran and got in the shower and then flat ironed my hair the Sedu did so well: it cut down on my straighten time, gave my hair this wonderful shine, never once pulled or snagged my hair, made my hair so smooth and soft, and kept my hair straight all day long. I am so disappointed that i didn't find this flat iron sooner, instead I was frying with a 15 dollar flat iron. If you are worried that this flat iron isn't as good as it sounds don't be this is the best 108.95 I ever spent!Just buy it you wont regret it. Also great shipping time it only took two days for my oder to arrive.

As a new mom I do not have the time to spend straightening my hair. After agonizing over which straightener I should get....I chose the Sedu for many reasons. The additional extra 1 year warranty that Folica offers, the reviews of other customers, and the Sedu brand. I was not dissapointed. It really does the job well. It heats up very fast and I can get the job done in less than 10 minutes. What else could you ask for....

This is the third Sedu straightening iron I've purchased. I gave my daughter the first about three years ago and she is still using it (it replaced Chi and Hot Tools previously.)I recently replaced mine due to a short in the wire (after 2 1/2 years) but as my daughter says, "It is the best ever." (There is a stronger and more durable cord on the newest one.) It is quick, efficient, does not pull, burn or dry out the hair. It doesn't have plates which get caught in the hair unlike others I've owned. It's a fabulous product at a competitive price and I would highly recommend it!

I purchased a Chi flat iron two months ago and it already stopped working. I paid $145 for it and I'm so unhappy that it has already stopped working. What a rip off! However, I did some research and after reading all the great reviews about the Sedu flat iron, I decided to purchase one. I received it today and I am soooo happy I decided to buy the Sedu flat iron over any other brand. It is light weight and straightens my hair beautifully. I was a little concerned about the edges not being rounded enough to make flips and curls. I did both flips and curls with no problem. My hair looks like I just stepped out of the salon. I can't wait to use it tomorrow! I would definately recommend buying this product.

Ok...I have to tell you about my Sedu...I ordered the Solia a couple of weeks ago, because the Sedu was sold out, but when the Sedu was back in stock I ordered it and tried both out. Hands down the Sedu is the best. I am an African-American woman who has not permed her hair in 5 months (I am going natural) and my hair looks like I went to the salon and permed it! And I did this myself! It is wonderful, smooth, shiny hair, with no pulling like the Solia. Ladies, this really is the BEST!!!
I also had a stylist use a Chi on me, but I think my hair looks better when I did it myself with the Sedu. So what do you have to lose, if you don't like it, send it back to Folica and get your money back...but I promise, this is one item you will be happy you invested in!

My sister came in town to visit and she has a Chi flat iron and used my new Sedu flat iron and she liked it better! Since I'm a rookie, I need to get the hang of it but so far I like how easy it is to use and the way my hair looks!
