I gave this product 5 stars as it does a great job at straightening even the coursest hair, HOWEVER, be advised that the plug gives out after a short amount of time. I only had this product for 2 years and it already died after minimal use. I've read other stories on other sites such as hair-straightener-reviews.com where people have complained of the same thing happening, and if you're going to spend big bucks, that shouldn't be happening. Also, the warranty does not cover this and has to be repaired at your expense so.......just a thought b4 you buy.

i got my sedu a couple of weeks ago and i love it! it makes my hair really smooth and shiny. it also curls my hair pretty good too. and my hair stays straight all day..even the when i wake up the next morning its still striaght. i love it, diffidently worth the money!
The only thing i have a problem with is the cord..it always tangles up when im curling my hair cause it doesnt have a 360 degree cord...other then that it great!

ive had my solia for 3 years and i thought that was good, but this is way better. it went up to 450 degrees and the sedu only goes up to 410, which made me kinda skeptical because i had to turn my solia up to 450 to get the best results. now i dont even have to turn it to 410! its pretty great and it's not so big like its portrayed in the videos, its actually lighter and much thinner than my 1 and 1/4 solia. it gets the ends so straight, which i loveee!
And even though people only say the sedu 1 inch curls hair, actually the sedu 1.5 does too(But you just have to know HOW to curl hair with a straightener for this to work good).
BEST STRAIGHTENER!

After having a Chi straightener for several years, it was time for something new. I ordered this Sedu for Christmas because it was a good price and had a good rating. IT'S AMAZING. It heats up super fast and has an adjustable temperature. Even when it's on the lowest setting, it does a better job of straightening my hair than the Chi ever did. With just one swipe across my hair, it is shiny, silky, and smooth - there are no little flyaway hairs and my split ends are virtually invisible. It used to take me around a half hour to do my hair; now I can do it in around 10 minutes. The straightener is light, but durable, and gets hot - so remember to be careful. My hair is not curly and not straight, but somewhere in between. This is the best straightener I have ever tried and I LOVE it! (:

I am a boy with shortish hair and two cowlicks in my bangs. I've always had a problem straightening them down, and also the sides and back always flip up and I always have trouble straightening those as well. I just got my Sedu 1 inch for christmas, and it works great! It is able to straighten the difficult parts of my hair better then any other straightener I've ever had (Solia, Coriolis). I love it! It glides right through your hair and leaves it shiny and soft and perfectly undamaged. Great product!

The first time I tried the sedu, (christmas eve! which was tonight!) I was instantly like "I give this 2 stars... my hair's not even STRAIGHT!"
Buuuut- I was wrong. Turns out the heat was too low. xD
I have long (ends riiight after my bra) brown hair that pretty thin.
I used to use the expensive HerStyler in pink... it KILLED my hair.
THE SEDU MADE MY DEAD ENDS SMOOTH?!
Ahhhhh-mazing.
My hair hasn't been pin-straight. Ever.
But now it is.

Now I'll wake up tomorrow on christmas morning with perfect hair!!!

I got my Sedu about a week ago. I was using a Chi before that. My hair is kind of thin, and breaks and fries easily. I have used my Sedu every day since I have gotten it. My hair has not been damaged one bit. I love this straightener. It is extremely light, compared to my Chi, you can adjust the temperature to your hair type. I absolutrly love it. I would reccomend this to anyone, with any hair type, just try it you will love it too!!

I've had this product for a year now and i can honestly say even if the cord did short on me i would buy another because it has saved me way more in salon bills alone. i've been reading some reviews on other sites and i've not some complaints about snagging this usually only happens to me when i put products like hair lotion or anything that adds moisture to my hair right b4 i use my sedu. this process might help a few of u. what i usually do is wash and condition my hair then add whatever moisturizing products i want while it is still wet then i blow dry it and then run my sedu through. it seems like alot but i'm in the process of transitioning (going from relaxed back to natural state of hair), and this process really helps my hair stay as healthy and moisturized as possible.

I have owned the Sedu flat Iron 1 inch for about over a year and it works fantatic on straightening my tight curls. But I have a problem with the cord because it doesn't swivel. Eventually mine tore because of the twisting so I am buying a new one. I was able to connect the wires so that it could work for a while but then it would turn off when I clamped it on my hair. It was also very dangerous and make a shock when the wires diconnected and reconnected. It's still a phenomenal flat iron, but I'd be careful of the cord if you flip the ends of your hair because too much of that will lead the cord to rip. Btw I have also owned a Solia and this one is better.

I just received my Sedu 1" straightener and tested it out instantly. Honestly, it did not snag my hair at all and was so much better than my Conair Wet/Dry "ceramic/tourmaline" iron. The Sedu plates are super shiny and smooth and straightens in one pass..maximum two. My hair did not frizz up despite the cold damp weather and stayed straight for 2 days.
Always use a heat protection before applying any type of heat to your hair though.. it'll enhance your smoothness and shininess.

I could not make up my mind between buying another CHI (I owned one for a year but broke it) or trying out another brand. After reading the reviews about this straightener, I decided to buy it. I have used it about three times now, once to curl and twice to straighten, and have decided to send it back and get another CHI. The straightener works very well to straighten and curl; however, it pulls my hair really bad and the cord does not swivel so when you are using it, the cord gets tied up in knots. I just feel like the CHI works just as good, and it does not pull my hair and the cord can swivel on it so it won't get tied up.
So my suggestion is go with a CHI. The reviews on this site seem kinda negative on the CHI's, but I love them. I am the daugher of a hair dresser and I have tried out several different brands, CHI is BY FAR the best I have used.

I have my hair straightened with the Japanese method. Since this is very costly, I wanted to extend the time between straightening. It worked great for 4 months, then just died. I couldn't beleve it. I was so upset, I just ordered a chi. I was afraid to buy another sedu.

i ordered this straightner because everyone know that conair[which i have] sucks!i oredered it on saturday and got it on wednesday i was impressed because this was really quick!i used it on the highest level because my hair is really thick and it was wonderful! next week i used it for the third time and it just stopped working.i never hit it or banged it up or anything!i mean i just got it! so i had to return it and i didnt know i was supposed to write exchange on it because when i called folica they didnt tell me that and so i waited forever untill i found out that they thought i wanted my money back.sooo yeah i was pissed.the worst part was that i had to beg my mm to let me buy this.i said that since it was expensive and had nice reviews then it must be good! boy was i wrong.so now im ordering another one just lke it.i hope the problum was just one of those 1 out of a 1000 is faulty. i hope so

i had been using a fhi hair straightener for the past 3 years or so and never necessarily had a "problem" with it, i was just never happy with how my hair looked and how it never stayed straight. my hair is pretty thin and frizzy and i live in texas and the humidity is a nightmare! every time i straightened my hair i would walk outside and the frizz and wavy thin curls would come back that i HATE!! i read all of the reviews for this and was nervous because i hadnt read very many reviews of people with thin hair... but i love it so far! i just got it today so i still havent put it up to the test of if my hair stays straight... but my hair really does feel so soft and the straightener doesnt pull your hair at all, which i now realize my old striaghtener did a lot of!! i would def recommend.. hopefully it stays as good as it is now!

I got my sedu less than a year ago and it just died yesterday. I took very good care of it, never dropped it or banged it on the counter, I just used one day and it died the next. I really loved this flat iron, so much so that I want to buy another one, but is it worth hundred bucks if it only last a year??

I bought this hair straightener about a month ago and it worked absolutely fantastic on my thick, curly hair. However, the other day when I was in the middle of straightening my hair, it just flat out died. I can't get it to heat up or cut on or anything. Definitely buy this hair straightener if you want beautiful straight hair, but be prepared to use the warranty!!
