I love my Sedu! It heats up super-fast and doesn't snag my hair at all. After going over a piece of hair once, it's straight. It definitely cuts my styling time in half over my old iron, which (I thought) was pretty darn good to beging with. The Sedu is also a lot lighter than any other flat iron I've tried. This is my holy grail!
Almost the best

After a lot of research and experimenting with many flat irons, I definitely rate this the best for its plate width. It is well made and the plates glide like glass. It's size is great for short layers and bangs. On the negative side, I find it very difficult to get a good flattening effect on the first sweep of the plates. The handle doesn't always allow for enough pressure on the section of hair, causing the hair to slip out...and the outside of the plates are too hot for the fingers to press down to assist the pressure. Nor is there is a comb or brush on the plates to help smooth the hair as the plates glide down the hair. Having said that, with a little work at learning the personality of this iron, it's turns out to be worth the trouble - mostly because of the slick finish of the ceramic plates...as well as the size. I strongly suggest this iron for people with short and/or layered hair (above the shoulders). Those 4" ones are great for very long hair - but this 1" iron is great for flattening and playing with those short pieces and layers.

One of my concerns in buying this product was whether or not it worked on black hair. I didn't want to pay all the money and then be disappointed with the results. After reading a lot of the other reviews and researching the product, I purchased it and am so pleased with the results! No more frizz! And I can flip it, curl it, or straighten my hair with ease. I use the Sedu every couple of days, and there is a lot less damage to my hair. Now I want to invest in a good blow dryer since the results have been so beautiful!

After reading the reviews for this product I decided to buy it. This straightener is a miracle worker. My hair looked professionally done and was so shiny and soft. Definitely worth the money - cut my straightening time in half and looked great!
Best straightening iron I've tried

The sedu is better than the chi, true ceramic pro, and every other straightner I have tried. It heats up faster, goes through my hair smoother and cuts my styling time by about one third. So anyone with thick, hard to straighten hair like mine should definitely give the sedu a try!
Just a Hype

I got my Sedu last week and I was as excited as a kid with a new toy. Well, the excitement was temporary, as I discovered how this product works.
I have straight Asian (Indian) hair with a natural wave. SO, unless I blow dry my hair, i don't get the silky straight hair. I decided to cut my blow-drying time and invested $119 to buy the sedu. The results, to my dissappointment, were not so great. It gave me the same results as the blow-drying (with less volume of course)
I got hooked onto Straight irons when a bunch of cousins tried the Original Chi on my hair. They looked like Silk...literally! I read all the reviews about the Chi on Folica and decided to get the Sedu. I wish I had taken a look at both these products before purchasing.
My cousin now has a Chi Turbo which i'm going to try next week. If it's better, the Sedu goes back and in comes the Chi
Good luch with the purchase!

I really like the sedu flat iron. It heats up quickly and doesn't pull my hair at all. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with fine wavy hair that likes straightening their hair.
Great product!

The service was fast delivery. I have used a couple of times and so far it's very easy to use and leaves my hair soft and silky. My daughter also uses it and she has frizzy hair this has helped her so much she gets compliments on her hair.
Very good

I am very pleased with my sedu straightening iron. It really does work even on naturally curly and freezy hair. However if you want to maintain body you still need to use your hair dryer.
Excellent to Above Average.

When i first received the Sedu and tried it on my hair, I loved the result. Smooth, soft hair , no frizz. But after using it for a week, my hair feels little bit dried out. I can't get my fingers through my hair as fast as before. Don't get me wrong, its still a good flat iron.Just not Excellent.
Much Much better than the $60.00 flat iron that i used to use.
Works wonderfully....

I have wavy hair and the iron leaves my hair super straight. It is very comfy to use and the heat settings are great. I use the 160 heat setting bc i have fine hair and it's highlted and I hate when it smells burnt. The 200 setting is awesome if you are in a hurry.

This is certainly a great straigtener. It works very quick so you don't have to spend a lot of time on your hair. It makes it feel very silky and soft. Definiately worth the money. I had cheaper ones and those made your hair feel like you were drying out your hair.
Good - but not as good as the CHI

This iron def. straightens your hair and does its job, but I also have the CHI - and that does a better job. After having the CHI for a year, I thought I would buy another one, just to have something new, and since this is rated the highest - I got it. Again - it does its job, but the CHI does a better job and also keeps it less frizzy as your day goes on. The Sedu really doesn't keep my hair from getting frizzy, and my hair is not that curly. If you want to choose between this and the CHI - get the CHI.

I purchased the Sedu for the obvious reason, the rave reviews. I had been using my roomate's chi but the sedu didn't work as well, it didn't get as hot, i didn't like the plates, etc. Also, I have a hot tools 1' and they worked pretty much the same. Plus I had a lot of flyaway hairs. I am exchanging mine for the Solia, the only thing that stinks is that I live in Hawai'i so my shipping charge was $8, not free like everyone else's. And I had to pay to ship the thing back. Hopefully, the Solia is better, but I didn't think the Sedu was worth the money.

A few months ago, I bought the SEDU Iron. It works well but I've tried better. A friend of mine has Futura's Metro Standard Flat Iron , and I must say I like her better.
Many people say that Futara don't last long enough, that may be disadvantage. I've been having Sedu since March 2005 and it works well.
Advantage of Sedu is that it is easier to work with, and after all, the results are pretty much the same as with any other hair iron in this price range. And I think it does not damage my hair, because my hair looks healthy all the time - even between the uses. So, it's quite a good choice to get this one.

I was sceptical of buying this brand...unknown brand to me, soo much good reviews...it almost looked like it was arranged with the movie guy. Now, I'm a true beliver and I've converted 3 friends ! I sounds like a wakko from a cult ?? I don't care; I'm in love ! Sedu makes my hair just the way I like them to be and I'll be forever grateful.

I am a hair stylist and have used the Chi 1" flat iron for the last 3 years. The first one I had shorted out in just under a year, but I was given a new one. That one has been good, but seems to have lost some of it's heat (doesn't have a temp. control). I wasn't impressed with the 1" Sedu iron, even set at the highest temp. it didn't straighten as well as my old Chi. I also didn't like the rectangular shape, it wasn't as good for making curls, and I didn't like that the plates were in a fixed position - the floating plate system seems to not pull the hair as much, which would cause less breakage. Also, the length of the Sedu plates were shorter than most flat irons that I've used.

I just received this iron and tried it on my daughters hairs which is wavy and it made her hair look beautiful and healthy Loved it! Now the real test would be my hair I have very, very tight curls it's crazy. Anyways I decided to dry my hair first then used the flat iron it worked great I love it. I'm so happy I spent the money on this one. My friend bought the CHI but it broke after just one month.
