Love the 1" Sedu!
Glides through the hair
Heats up quickly
You can straighten, curl, flip, anything with this iron
Adjustable heat settings are great for damaged hair or very resistant hair
I use it on my clients as well as for my own personal flat iron.

I've had my iron for about a year now, and I've just had to send it in because it wouldn't turn on anymore. Folica.com was good though, since it was within a year of purchase, they gave me a new one, I just had to pay shipping. I've read the reviews of some other people, and I didn't notice it straightening my hair as good as the Chi when I've been in salons. The Chi made my hair silky whereas the Sedu only just straightened. I'm a bit hesitant after reading the Chi reviews though to go out and buy one.

The Sedu 1 inch rocks! And this is coming from a guy. I have very tight frizzy (not so curly) hair. When I grew it out it looked alomost like an afro! So I decided to straighten it out. And with the sedu being the best flat iron on the market, I bought it. Now my hair is silky, shiny, and best of all straight! If you are thinking about straightening your hair, go with the Sedu!

Product Rating: 3 Didn't work well with my hair...
Reviewer: Claudia from Rockville, MD  Tue Feb 14 2006

I used to have a very long curly hair, but then it started to break so I cut it!!! what a disaster... I had forgotten how puffy my hair was! So I bought a Revlon flat iron and I was amazed with the results but after a month I was reather dissapointed with it's durability... I read the reviews about a bunch of flat irons and dicided for SEDU because of the very good reviews it has and everything. I got the next day and tried it right a way and soon realized that not evething that works for other people will work for you. my hair was soooo straight and dry and I couldn't flip it up or curl the ends. but I still think it's a good product and don'r seem to break easily.

I purchased the Sedu after contemplating between it and the Solia. I'm glad I went with the Sedu! I have straight (but frizzy), fine hair. I tried the CHI but it made my hair SO flat because of the one heat used. Then I tried the CHI Turbo, but that was a piece of crap. My hair got unbelievable static with the turbo. Sedu has adjustable temperature and the plates glide right through, no pulling or anything. And it's SO light weight! I would definitely recommend it!

I got a Sedu for my daughter with thick wavy hair. SHE LOVES IT. So much quicker than the Chi. Effective and efficient.

Product Rating: 5 A must buy!

You will get the salon look definitely! It made my hair super soft and shiny! And the fly aways are gone and it's super sleek! Goes above and beyond what any straightener can do from any local store. I am in love with this straightener and recommending it to everyone!

Product Rating: 4 Must Have!

I love this....and it's such a bargain compared to those I would purchase at a professional salon. Try it...you won't be disappointed!

Product Rating: 4 Like the control
Reviewer: kate from florida  Fri Feb 10 2006

I had a Chi straightener before and decided to go with the tourmaline since my hair was getting really damaged. This is a very lightweight straightener and I like being able to control how hot it gets. But I don't think it straightens any better than the Chi.

after a month of having the sedu iron the cord came loose and it kept turning on and off, so everyone stick with the CHI :)

Product Rating: 5 Excellent Buy!!!!
Reviewer: Tiffany Ratliff from Beckley, WV  Wed Feb 08 2006

My sister bought this straightener last year and I really loved it, however, I felt it was a little pricey for me. So, I decided to try some other highly rated straighteners that were a little cheaper. I tryed a Chi and a Rusk, but neither compared to the Sedu. So, I recently bought my own and I love it!! It's the best product on the market; it's worth the money.

Product Rating: 5 this flat iron is amazing
Reviewer: Amy from Bartlesville, OK  Tue Feb 07 2006

I wasn't sure which type of straightener I wanted to get at first, but after reading the reviews I was convinced that this was the one for me. I'm glad I decided on it, it's amazing. It works so well and takes very little time to straighten my hair (which is insanely curly, by the way).

Product Rating: 5 Absolutely Fabulous!
Reviewer: Caroline from Coquitlam, BC, Canada  Tue Feb 07 2006

I bought my first Sedu (1.5inches) in May 2005 and I loved it. I have lightly texturized very curly african hair and I was amazed at how silky and straight my hair was after I used the Sedu. Better still, My hair does not break besides the normal shedding!! I would recommend the Sedu to anyone who cares about their hair.
I just received my second Sedu (1 inch)and just tried it today to straighten the shorter hair around my nape, bangs etc. Again, I love this product! It really does a wonderful job. I must also say that the folks at Folica provide excellent customer service.

Product Rating: 5 Great flat iron!
Reviewer: Leslie   Tue Feb 07 2006

This flat iron is wonderful. It heats us very fast and is so light. I had a Solano before, but I think the Sedu is definitely better.

Product Rating: 4 So good...so far...
Reviewer: Anonymous from san jose, ca  Mon Feb 06 2006

I've had the Sedu for 3 weeks now. My hair looks good! I have curly hair that gets very frizzy. I don't need to straighten my hair for at least 2 days afterwards. No complaints about the straightener. As other reviews have mentioned, the head where the plates are do get hot. I'm a little concerned about that. But we'll see.

Product Rating: 4 A pretty decent flat iron
Reviewer: Alicia   Mon Feb 06 2006

I went to my bi-annual hairstyle and my hairstylist used a CHI (brand) flat iron. It had ceramic plates and it was very small. It worked GREAT on my hair (my hair was baby soft and super super straight). I asked her how much it was, and she said it was $100 at wholesale. I looked up CHI flat iron on Google.com and found this site. After reading horrible reviews about it (the CHI ruined their hair, or broke after 6-12 months), I realized a lot of those reviewers were mentioned going to the Sedu brand, because they heard good things. So, I paid the $120 something for it and it arrived at about 10 days.
The Sedu is a very lightweight flat iron, with what looks like cheap plastic handles. The ceramic plates look plastic too. BUT it flattens very fast, and my hair (which is straight, but a little bent at the ends from being fried with over coloring) needs about 5 runs through before I get the desired straightness.
I heard steam is a good thing to have when flattening your hair because it adds moisture.
Do keep in mind that you need to use a hydrating shampoo, such as Pureology brand Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, a moisturizer/detangler, or glossifying product on your hair when using an iron, or else you will get depressed by how fast your hair gets fried. The ceramic plates DO help with keeping your hair fine and soft, but DO use a product to help with dryness.
A technique my stylist used when flattening my hair was:
Using a regular bic comb, the kind you see at barber shops, run that through your hair BEHIND the flat iron as it goes down your hair. It seperates and adds straightness to your hair. She did that to me at my appointment and my hair was super silky and had lots of movement.
Should you buy this product? I am not sure if I shouldve bought the CHI flat iron, because I heard they break. It is an expensive flat iron, but its better than HOT TOOLS brand, which was like $30. I have no idea how the other expensive flat irons perform, but the Sedu is not bad. Its small, easy, and fast. It's a good flat iron to have, if you aren't afraid to spend over $100!!
It comes with a free pouch. Its not that fancy of a pouch. The flat iron just fits in it, but i cant fit all of the plug in it. The actual plug sticks out. And I'd only use it if I were traveling because the cord is VERY long!! And its a cylinder, so it will NEVER tangle.
I suggest not leaving the hot plates on the bathroom counter because I heard it leaves a permanent mark. I just carefully let the plates hang off the edge of the counter.

Product Rating: 3 left it plugged in
Reviewer: Heather Ekstrom from alberta  Mon Feb 06 2006

First use I was very excited about the sedu. I left it plugged in by mistake and now it does not heat up properly. I thought it had automatic shut off. Opps. Personally I feel there is probably a better straightener out there for the same price.

Product Rating: 5 REALLY Satified!! It does what it says.
Reviewer: Very Happy from Iowa   Sat Feb 04 2006

I have had it for over a month now. I really do like it. It does keep my hair from frizzing when it is drizzling out. I had a Conair before which I thought worked great until I used this one. I really went back and forth on buying this one. But I bit the bullet and am very happy I did. It is worth the money for what it does for me.Some reviews said that it gets hot to hold, but I have not noticed where the handle gets hot just the end where your hair goes=which it is suppose too.

Product Rating: 5 Great results, my daughter loves it
Reviewer: Elyse   Sat Feb 04 2006

I bought this flat iron after much research on flat irons as our 1st one was not so great. I found that most folks really liked this flat iron and so I bought it for her. Her hair comes out so shiny and lovely. In the beginning, she had to get used to it as her other one was wider, but she has much greater control over the process with this flat iron. The other day she just touched up my bangs after blow drying them and the looked great all day.
