Finally, somebody has made a straightener that not only works well, it lasts! I have 3 teenage daughters and we all use flat irons on a regular basis, and we all have our own. We have been through so many Chi irons it was rediculous. They always break after less than one year; they just quit working. The 2 Sedu irons that we have just keep going and going. At this price point I expect alot, and with Sedu you get it! Highly recommended by all of us!

This is the absolute best flat iron I have ever used! It turned my perpetually frizzy blowdried straight/naturally wavy very thick hair into salon-perfect smoothness! I can't rave about this iron enough! Highly reccommended!

I would highly recommend this product. I have natural, African-American hair and this flat iron smoothed out the curl without any difficulty. My hair was soft and full of body, without that awful "just pressed" look.

I've used $30-$40 flat irons before and while they got the job done, they were not as easy to use as the Sedu. My hair is thick, coarse, wavy, about shoulder length and it is highlighted. I use the Sedu at about 350 degrees and it works fine--I usually only make one slow, smooth pass over my hair and it gets it straight. I've only had it a few weeks, so we'll see how well it holds up, but so far, I love it and highly recommend it!

This is the greatest product I've ever purchased! I've battled with my naturally curly (and of course, frizzy) hair all my life (I'm 48). I've been using another brand of straightening iron for about a year. It worked pretty good for awhile until I noticed my hair was really getting broke and it seemed to pull my hair. But, it was better than anything else I had at the time. Then, someone told me about the Chi and I tried one. What a difference. When I got online to order one, I saw the Sedu and read the reviews on it and decided that it sounded like an even better iron than the Chi. Boy, was I right!! My hair has NEVER been so straight, smooth and shiny in my life. And I even put it to the real test...rain and humidity. After being outside in the humidity and rain the other day, my hair was still straight at the end of the day!! My daughter couldn't believe it. She has the same type of hair as I do. So, she had to try it. She was so excited at the results! She was especially impressed about how much healthier her hair looked and commented on how soft her hair was. Needless to say, I ordered her one that day. I wish these had been around about 30 years ago. My life would have been so much easier! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

Jeez, I've been so stupid to not have come across this iron. It really is as good as it says. I wish I had seen this one before buying my other iron. It will make all your other cheaper irons useless to you. This iron heats up FAST, when I mean fast I mean it doesn't even take a minute to get to full temperature. When using it, it will slide nicely along your hair, making it straight and giving it a shine. I'm very impressed with this Sedu product!

If you have light, thin, non african american hair then i suggest you DO get this product. But for those with thick and extremely curly hair like me, its ok. i mean it didnt live up to my expectations but it did an ok job considering my hair type. Just to let y'all know, my sedu broke very easy ( i dont even remember how it broke) i just opened the box one day and the plug was broken. i dont even tink they will return it for me. But if dont mind taking a chance and if your hair is not like mine then you Should get it. for me it was just a waste of time and money that i will never get back. P.S. for african americans, i siggest the MAXIglide. i havent tride it yet but ive heard SOO much good things about it. im planning to buy it now

For the past 40 yrs. yes, 40 yrs! I have struggled with curly, frizzy, thick, unmanageable, course hair. Yes, I am probably older than most of you but better late than never. Since I was 12 yrs. old I have been putting relaxers in my hair. That's a very long time! But they never lasted very long and I still had to stay out of the humidity, which is virtually impossible here in Louisiana or wear a cap. So it was a no win situation for all these years. Well, that has finally come to an end. I never thought I would see the day that I would be able to stop putting relaxers in my hair. The Sedu IonicTourmaline Straightener was truly an answer to my prayers. My daughter=in-law got one and told me how well it worked so I thought I would try it. I must say that I didn't put much hope into it as I could not conceive of anything working for me. Well, I was wrong and thrilled at the same time. It's been nearly a month now since it arrived and I am getting better with it each time I use it. My hair is very straight now. What's amazed me the most is that even with the high humidity it doesn't frizz or curl and my hair is very shiny as well. This has been the miracle I have been waiting for. For me, it was worth every penny and if and when the day comes and it stops working, I can guarantee you that I will be ordering another one immediately with 2 day express mail because I don't want to be without it.
Another thing about this product is that it heats up within seconds. So if any of you out there have a mother or grandmother (which I am) who has been fighting bad hair and wants it straight I most definitely recommend this product.

I used to have pretty, soft hair. Until I had a straightner put in it and then a year and half later have it permed. Now my hair is big poofy mess. With the Sedu flat iron, my hair is not only straight, but it is soft, smooth, and tangle free. My only regret would be that I didn't purchase it sooner.

I bought one of these in April and had to send it back for a new one in August, only four months later, due to a short in the power cord. Not only did I have to pay to ship it back, but had to pay to have another one shipped, and had to do without its use until the new one came. It straightens very well.

Love the iron. I never really tried any different ones, but my sister did & she says that my Sedu is the only one that doesn't pull/rip her hair. That's why I just bought her one for her birthday. Just wish it had an automatic shut-off. That was my only complaint.

I own a Chi, a Solia and now a Sedu. The Sedu is by far the best. It is the easiest on hair...no breakage whatsoever as with the the Chi and the Solia.

I am happy with my order of the Sedu straightner. It works wonders and leaves my hair feeling great. It helps me use the blow dryer less because I wash my hair at night instead of in the morning. I used to have to blow dry it using a straigting spray and then a flat iron that didn't work very well...It caused my hair to dry up...With the Sedu and can let my hair air dry at night and straighten it in the morning and it looks great. I am very glad I bought it!

I purchased the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Straightener (1") in January 2006. I have had no problems with it. I have thick, wavy, shoulder length hair and it has made growing it out bearable. I do have to go over each section a couple of times to get it really smooth but I am probably not taking small enough sections. I keep the temp. at nearly the highest setting. There have been no mechanical problems. I keep it stored in the heat pouch that came free at the time when I ordered the iron. It has not dried out my hair or damaged it in any way. It slides through my hair smoothly with no snagging or pulling.

ok so i had a corillios and the cord part broke so i had to start using my old straightner which totally fried my hair. i was thinkin about gettin a Chi but after comparin the reviews between the Sedu and the Chi i thought id give the Sedu a chance. I have to say i absolutly loveee this straightner...its light weight, compact, and does the job. my hair us really wavy naturally and i couln't ever find a straightner that would kepp my hair straight ALL DAY LONG, but the Sedu does the trick. i recomend this straightner to EVERYONE!! =]

I have very fine hair that will frizz or flop the minute it hits humidity. This product works well with fine hair. It's also great for that in-between touch-up hair. It's very easy to use and heats up in seconds. Great buy at an even better price. It works.
