Works nicely and gently on fine, frizz-prone hair.

I have fine, naturally curly hair that both frizzes and damages very easily. I also experience a daily battle with my hair thanks to the abundant humidity we have here in the South. This iron seems to have just the right "oomph" needed to smooth my hair, yet without torching it. Also, while my hair is about 3" below the shoulder in length, I find the narrower 1" width to be an ideal size. It's weight is nice, too, so your arm won't wear out before the job is done. Bottom line: used in combination with an iron guard hair product, I am very pleased with the initial results from my Sedu.
Love It!!

This is an excellent product. My thick curly hair actually shines when I am done flat ironing, and will remain shiny and straight for days!

The Sedu is truly fantastic! It not only straightens your
hair quick and easy, but the Sedu is so weightless to hold.
I have fine, curly thin hair, and the Sedu makes it smooth,
non static, and shinny. I like the material the Sedu is made out of also, and how fast is heats up.
I love the FREE pouch that was included also. Once I am done, I can store it away with no worries.
The Sedu is an EXCELLENT choice!

Alright but not worth the price, I would rather spend a bit more and get a nicer flat iron that does a better job.

Solia vs. Sedu

I had a Solia straightener for about a year, until I tragically dropped, then stepped on it in my driveway (long story). The point it is I've owned both and I think the Sedu is better. Its somehow so good you have to go over your hair less. Plus its a lot lighter, and there was one fault with the Solia that really bugged me: the "rotating blades" would catch my hair on their corners and pull it out every time I used it! Just a few hairs, but still annoying.
That being said, the difference between the two isn't actually that much, but having finally splurged on the fanciest straightener I could find, me and all my friends agree: Sedu is the best. From thick black hair, fine biracial hair (mine), to superthick asian hair, it does them all. I like the one inch blade for getting the baby hairs too.
My hair looks great!

I am very happy to use Sedu on my hair. I have tried millions of products to make my hair look its best and nothing has worked like Sedu hair strightener. I highlight my hair so it was hard for me to keep it shiny and without freezes. Since I am using Sedu, my hair looks silky and shiny. Many of my friends have noticed the difference. My hair looks faboulous. I recommend it to everyone.
Love it!

I have to admit - I've never paid this much for any hair tool, and was skeptical about how much better it would be than my usual $30-$40 flat iron. Fact is, it's amazing. I've never been great with my hair and though I liked the effect of the flat iron, it took WAY too long with my thick hair and I worried about the damage. I recently got a great new hairstyle that really needs the straight look. After a lot of research I ordered the Sedu from Folica. I LOVE THIS FLAT IRON!! I now blow dry my hair (not styling it at all), then use the Sedu for approx 15 minutes (used to take me the better part of an hour after trying to straighten with a brush while drying). Plus, my hair feels so much softer and there's no tangling! With other irons I had to touch up my hair later if I was going out after work - no more - the hairstyles stays. For the most part, I only do small touch ups the next day and don't have to re-style 'til I wash it again. The only negative thing I read about this iron is that the plastic on the outer part of the plates gets hot so you can't touch it. I have to say that it does get hot, but since I never need to hold it at the plates, it's not a problem for me - I've seen stylists do that, so maybe that would be a consideration for them. Overall though, I don't think you can go wrong with this item. I've convinced 2 of my friends to buy this product, and they're sold, too.

I have had two straighteners before this one. The $20 kind, and they did not work on my curly hair. But now that I got this one, my hair is as straight as can be!!!! It is soooo awesome!
I love it!!

I am very happy with my purchase of the sedu straightener. I can't live without it. I don't know what I did before. I did have a cord problem, but Folica was great and sent a replacement pronto. It heats up fast and is easy to manuver. I love it!!!
Too Small

If your hair is short, but thick, this isn't the best choice. It's too thin to be effective. The Sedu brand is great, but go with the 1.5" It's worth the extra cash.

This flat iron is not nearly as good as the chi, and I was very disappointed with the results. It doesn't seem to de-frizz and straighten my hair as good as the chi did, even with the heat turned up as high as it will go. So sad. Next time I am definitely going to invest my hard-earned money in a chi!

It does leave your hair very smooth and shiny. Overall it's a very nice flat iron that it does the work. The only 2 things I don't like are: 1)it looks too plastic. Maybe they could improve the design? 2)I tried to queeze (I read other ppl's review and they said you have to squeeze), but some how the 2 plates won't touch each other unlike the old one I have.

When I went to a very exclusive hair shop to get my corrective color done to my hair after a nightmare from another salon, I thought my hair was going to fall out when she plegged in the hair straightener after all my hair had been through. Well she had a Chi and went on and on on this product. I think it was a sale pitch. They were selling for $150. I thought that was crazy I never heard of such a straightener costing so much. My hair came out beautiful so straight I did not hear it breaking off and it had no frizzies. So the product spoke for itself. I was going to purchase and thought for a moment and new I could find it online. When I came to your website I saw the other straighteners and read the reviews and saw the pictures and Wow what a shock. I wanted to go with Sedu. Because of the reviews. I took a little risk because I had only used the Chi but man the Sedu is great. it is lightweight and works wonderful. It cuts my straightening time in half and my hair is pretty comparible to Chaka Kahn. I am Puerto Rican and my hair is down to my bra strap. So all you ladies know now what I am facing in the morning. I love my Sedu and will purchase one for my daughter who is in the AirForce and has no time. Thank You for a wonderful product.
