I've had my Sedu for about a month and I love it! I used to have a Chi and I like this one much better..it gets hotter and is much smoother through the hair. It also gets hot very fast and stays hot. Also makes my hair much more shiny...great product!

This straightener honestly works miracles. My hair is on the thicker side and its wavy/curly about 7 inches past my shoulder. I bought the sedu for the first time and i absolutely love it! I bought it around a month ago and its done nothing but make my hair smoother, softer and shinier. I can do my hair so fast too
this morning i woke up 15 minutes before the bus came and managed to do my hair in 10 minutes which would normally take my conair about an HOUR! go ahead and save up and buy it, its so worth it!
Really Dissapointed

I bought this straightener expecting it to work as well as the reviews said it would. I was so excited when I got it, to finally have salon-like hair. It works nowhere near as good as I expected, it actually works the same as my $20 dollar one!! It gets my hair pretty straight, but it's all frizzy at the ends. I just got my hair cut and I take excellent care of my hair. That should not be happening. I plan on returning this product. This was a huge dissapointment.
It' s ok but Solia is better

I had Solia first and then purchased Sedu, not because Solia was broken (had it for more than 2 yrs now)but because my 2 girls always takes it from me.I gave them the Solia. They are both the same except Sedu gives me static hair.Solia didn't. If I had to buy agin I will buy Solia it's cheaper and better.

I had a chi for 3 years and it broke. I thought about buying another, but I read the reviews on folica.com. I chose the sedu and I'm so glad I did!! It's amazing! The chi would get so hot, and my hair would smell burnt. The sedu has a temperature control and there's no smell!!! I am so happy with my iron.
I am so happy...

This product is so wonderful! It's light, not heavy at all. Also, the plates didn't snag my hair. I can straighten my hair everyday without any worries about drying my hair out. I am very impressed.
It is EVERYTHING they said it would be!!!

You see testimonials, reviews, and personal statements raving about one product or another but this item is probably the first that I have purchased that has been exactly as described. I love it, I haven't had it that long, but if its durability is anything like its quality than I dont think I will be buying another straightner for quiet some time.
Not good for my hair

I live in Florida and purchased the Sedu flat iron based upon the reviews on this website. The iron heated up fast and definetely slid through my hair with ease. My hair became waaaay toooo soft, VERY flyaway and FULL of static. I have naturally thick curly hair. This was not a good iron for me. I have been using the Hai convertible flat iron for the past 4 years and find it much better for my curly hair. It heats up just as fast, makes my hair perfectly straight and shiny with no static. I was not happy with the Sedu.

I have owned and tried various models of irons in the past. Favorite=Sedu. My chi often leaves hair in a damaged state over time and other items in the same high end category don't compete as well. The patented non 100% ceramic is much smoother allowing days' worth of residue buildup to be easily wiped without the use of ANY chemicals. Because of the smoothness of the plates and the beveled edges there is absolutely NO PULL. At all. Seriously. Their special plates which they claim "produces more negative ions" enabling a smooth glossy look proves true, even without the use of products, though still very much recommended. It seems to get hair straight the first time, cutting the total time in what seems like half, and even if you were togo over the hair multiple times, it would show no times of damage. I've done this for about 2 months, with no damage, UNLIKE MY CHI.
A minor thing is the overall portability of the unit, which is relatively small compared to most other irons. The temp is very hot 410, more than most other brands and er...aah its the best flat iron under 200 ....so yeah.....BUY IT. now
AMAZING!!!!

This is the only iron that actually irons my hair and does not make it look like its fried.
It also has a very good range in temperature settings.
I strongly recomend this Iron to anybody with light wavy hair to the thick untamable curls.
I love my Sedu

I love this straightener! It heats up super-fast and none of my hair is getting damaged. It was also shipped in less time than it was supposed to. I would recommend this straightener to everyone.
spent waaay too much on this.

Customer Image 1:

when i first bought this straightener, i really liked it, but after using it for a few months, i realized that it pulls a few strands of my hair sometimes & i am not really sure why because the plates are really smooth & everything, but there are always some hairs that get pulled out or bent in all these crazy formations because this straightener pulls on them. & normally that wouldn't be a huge deal but i have very fine hair & cherish every strand that i get.
also, you cannot do curls or waves with it because the plates are squared off on the edges.
plus a few of my friends that have thick hair have used it and they said that it doesn't get hot enough to tame their hair.
so in all, i like it but it is not for me. i got one in my kit when i started beauty school that is worth about $35 that works way better than this one.

My Chi held up for about 5 years but I dropped it on my tile floor. So, I decided to try something new. I should've stuck with my gut and ordered another Chi. This iron doesn't give me the smoothness and shine that I got before. We live and learn.
Very good, but the best? I don't know....

This is the first time I have purchased an expensive straightening iron. I have used two purchased for less than $40 at Target for the last year. I decided on this iron because I thought it would save me lots of time. I can't say that it has saved any time at all when it comes to the initial straigtening, but my daughter can now wear her hair straight for two days before washing again...even in the humid Texas heat! Her hair is thick, unruly and VERY stubborn. Between blow-drying and straightening, I was spending about an hour every night on her hair. Now we only have to do it every other night, which does save quite a lot of time. Overall, I am happy with the performance with this iron. Her hair seems shinier and healthier than it did before, but I wouldn't say this iron is a "miracle tool" or anything. I think the quality is good for the price and if you spend hours a week straightening hair, it might be a wise choice. If you straighten every now and then, I might recommend a less expensive iron.

The sedu is remarkable the chi is nothing to compare to it. In fact I purchased both and I liked that the sedu leaves the hair feeling silky and smooth with moisture. Unlike the chi without a thermal control it is too hot leaving the hair dry and brittle.
not as good as expected

After reading all the reviews i expected the sedu to b amazing.. really wasn't.. didn't cut my straightening time in half...and didn't get hot enough even on the hottest setting so i had to go over hair multiple times to make it straight.. even after straightening my hair was still puffy..
Not impressed.. def don't think its worth paying over 100 bucks for it.
I <3 this thing

My Sedu Flat Iron is the best investment I've made this year. I have a short haircut, and I could never maintain my hairstyles within three days of coming from the hairdresser. Now, I can do my hair myself, and it looks great! I've never gotten so many compliments when I've done my hair myself before. Buy it.
Very happy with purchase

I see why this is one of the top sellers and top rated straighteners. It feels very sturdy and looks well built. I cannot say the same for the last brand I purchased. I am very happy with my purchase. I use my straightener every day and I love my Sedu :)

I read a lot of good reviews about this product so I decided to purchase it. After using it myself, I have to agree it works really well. It heats up quickly and it makes my hair look nice and straight. My friend thought that I just got a haircut when I saw her but I told her it looked like that because of the Sedu hair straightener.
I love my sedu!
