I love this product. The iron heats in less than 30 seconds and works miracles on wavy/curly hair. The cooling pad is great - allows you to immediately store or pack the flat iron.
MUST HAVE FOR PERFECT HAIR DAYS!

I just got this AMAZING flat iron today and it's FANTASTIC! It only takes few seconds to heat up and straightens your hair sooooooooo nicely. You actually feel like your hair is getting sooooooooo much softer and shiner at the same time!
I used to have really cheap, crappy revlon flat iron and if you comapre with Sedu, it's just a piece of garbage!
It's worth more than the money I paid.
On the other hand, it sort of pulls your hair a little bit, but it's not toooooooo bad.
Plus, I got the limited edition one and it came along with a brush. Also, you get a sample bottle of biosilk silk therapy and it is DIVINE! It makes my hair soooo silky. It smells good too! I think i'm going to buy one after i finish my sample bottle.
Don't hesitate! This iron would be the only way to go!
so surprised =]

my sedu came a few days ago and i was incredibly surprised when i opened it. it was really lightweight and small. i didnt even think it would work. i decided to try it out and it was amazing. i have very thick poofy layered hair thats about 3 or so inches beneath my shoulder... its very damaged and dead. i used biosilk serum and it made my hair silky smooth before i even straigtened it. i sectioned off my hair and straigetened it... what a difference from a remington wet2straight. the remington pulled and burned my hair but the sedu made it visibly healthier. it may sound crazy but its true. even though i was a bit skeptical about buying it, because all my friends were obsessed with their CHI's iknow i made the right descision now. if your considering a CHI, choose a sedu, because they are made better and do not easily break.
Very happy

I have naturally straight hair, but it sometimes dries wavy to the fact I sleep with my hair up. I use hair straighteners to fine tune and smooth it. Up until this point, I had been using a Conair drugstore straightener. It worked okay, but I felt like it snagged and damaged my hair alot. I saw a friend of mine at camp was using the Chi, and I'd heard about it before. It was amazing the way it straightened my hair, and I wanted one for myself. After extensive reading of reviews and googling comparisons, I decided to purchase the Sedu instead of the Chi. I have had it for a few months now, and I'm very satisfied with it.
dissapointed...

I have very fine and thin, highlighted blonde hair. I've had a CHI for quite awhile now, but it left me with alot of damage like breakage and split ends afer countinuous use. I recently got the Sedu and was expecting way better results than the CHI. I found about the same straightness but it didn't leave my hair nearly as silky soft as the CHI used to. It also leaves me with alot of flyaways and even more breakage. I can't believe the reviews the Sedu gets! It's not that great of a straightner! I'm going to try it a little bit longer but if my hair condition doesn't approve I'm sending it back and sticking with the CHI.
the BEST beauty product i have EVER owned

my hair is extremely curly, and i have tried EVERY product out there....flat irons, styling products, etc. none have worked like the sedu iron. not only does this product straighten your hair without causing damage, but it completely stops any frizzies even if you go outside in the humidity. i have even dared to cut my hair above my shoulders without worrying how it will look on a "bad hair" weather day! i don't have any of those anymore!
The Best By any TEST!!!

I received this product and absolutely loved the results after using it. It was very light weight and easy to use. I am very disappointed, however, it has stopped working after just a few days. I now have to send it back and pay to ship back a product that is defective!
Not as wonderful as I thought

I was really excited about purchasing this item so perhaps I expected more. I have used the chi for a long time but read all the wonderful reviews about the sedu so I had to try it. It is an okay product but there isn't anything magical about it. I rated it as average because I expected it to be better then the chi but it wasn't. Also, do not use it on the highest setting because your hair ends up smelling funny and gets way too hot. I have straight hair and the chi does more to make my hair look silky. Keep in mind I did use this on my daughter's curly hair and it worked well so maybe it just isn't for straight hair.
REALLY NOT THAT GREAT

Mine stopped working after 1 year. Before I bought this I used to use my friends 1" Chi and loved it but after reading all of the reviews I decided to buy this one. It didn't make my hair look anything like the way it looked when I used the Chi. Save your money and buy the original Chi. It's simply the best.
WAYYYYY BETTER THAN THE CHI

I HAD THE CHI AND IT STOPPED WORKING AFTER ABOUT 2 YEARS. I DIDN'T USE IT MUCH. MY HAIRSTYLIST WAS NICE ENOUGH TO EXCHANGE IT FOR A BRAND NEW ONE. IT WORKED JUST FINE. THEN I STARTED RESEARCHING OTHER BRAND IRONS. THE SEDU SEEMED TO COME OUT ON TOP. I SOLD MY CHI AND ORDERED THE SEDU. IT DEFINITELY FLATTENS MY HAIR BETTER THEN THE CHI. FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE CHI, TRY STRAIGHTENING ONE SIDE OF YOUR HEAD WITH THE CHI AND HALF WITH THE SEDU. YOU CAN TELL A HUGE DIFFERENCE THEN.
Get the 1" or 1.5"?

Both the flat irons are beyond great. I came here and read the reviews before I bought my first one (1.5"). My hair is about shoulder length with choppy layers; it is very thick so I decided on the 1.5".I love the way it makes my hair feel so silky( my beautician raves about the condition of my hair and I am 57). However, I do have bangs and prefer a smaller iron on them. When this 1" came on sale, I bought it and am I ever glad!!!!! It does my hair just as quick as the 1.5"and is easier to use on my bangs and around my ears and back of my neck. If you are undecided about which one to get, I would go with the 1" if I had bangs. These are the best flat irons in the world!!!Do not bother with the ones from the chain stores, I have had almost every brand they carry and they cannot compare to Sedu OR the service you get from Folica. Thank you, Folica, you are the BEST!!!!!!
Works great... if it works!!!!!

I was very satisfied with how this product styled my hair. However I was VERY disappointed when it stopped working after only a month!!!! I used it very lightly maybe 4 times a week & it sat on my counter - no traveling, dropping, etc. Now there appears to be something wrong with the plug as the green light does not come on at all & it will not heat up. I will be requesting my money back & I will purchase a different brand next time.
Awesome !!!!

I've used a variety of flat irons, Solia, BaByLiss, Chi and my stylist uses Infrashine on me and by far this is the BEST flat iron of them all. I also ordered the Chi Straightening Balm and that combined with Silk Infusion and then using this Sedu once my hair is dry is absolutely fantastic! My hair is SO straight and has great movement. Even the next day my hair is still just as straight. You will not regret purchasing this flat iron.

Received my flat iron and I was so excited to use it. Brand new out of the box but won't turn on! Tried different outlets around the house... NOPE won't turn on. I thought it might be damaged during shipment but the hairdryer that I ordered with my sedu is working perfectly well.
I emailed folica, no response. I called them, line was busy. So I return this junk for a different flat iron. Really, why bother spending this much money, if this gadget can't even survive a delivery?

Well, this iron is decent...it keeps my hair pretty straight, but about 12 hours into my night, it frizzes up a bit. It's hard to keep the frizz near my roots tamed, too. 3/5. It's a decent iron.
Chi vs Sudu

I was really excited about buying the sudu after reading about all the complaints about the chi irons. So I orded the 1" sudu and the 1" Chi, I did one side with each. the Chi was definitely smoother. The one negative about the sudu is that the entire iron gets hot on the outside, so if you are not good with flat iron you will surely burn your fingers. I think the CHI out does the sudu even with the reviews of dying in 1 year, keep your box there is a 1 yer warranty. I have mixed hair (white/black) If you have really coarse hair you might like the sudu better because it goes up to 425 and the chi is only 350 degrees. Good luck!!

My boyfriend just bought me this straightner and I was very excited to try it out. I thought it was going to transform my hair to what it never was. By all the reviews I read, I was extremely convinced that it would work wonders on my frizzy, wavy hair. I was a tad bit wrong. It worked the same as my Revlon Wet2Straight flat iron. It did, however, leave my hair EXTRA shiny. It glided through my hair as promised, but it did not cut the time in half. It was rather the same. I did have to pass it several times, but not as much as my Revlon one. I just straightened it today.. But who knows? Maybe it'll be my new favorite CURLING iron?
Its ok

I'm still trying to get past why it took me so long to buy my Sedu flat iron. I am from Canada, and professional flat irons are very expensive. I have been skeptical about purchasing one, further more from an American website. I am ecstatic to say I made the right decision. I am extremely happy with my purchase from start to finish. My hair looks truly amazing. My hairdresser will rarely see me now! The flat iron was even less expensive than if I bought it here, and that includes the shipping and duty I paid. I'll upload a photo one of these days. Thanks Folica!
