I chose the Sedu based on comments in Folica after using a Chi for seven years. I loved my Chi but after seven faithful years the cord began to detach from the unit. I fully intened to buy another until I read the reviews for the Sedu. I really like my Sedu: I DO think that it leaves me hair softer and shinier than the Chi. However, I do NOT agree with the comments that even in humid or wet weather your hair will not get frizzy after using the SEDU ~ mine certainly does! I would have been shocked (in a GREAT way) if that had been true so I don't hold that against Sedu. My only criticism of the Sedu is that I definitely have to grip a lot harder on it than I did with the Chi, to the point that my hand sometimes aches a little when I'm finished with my hair. So, as far as I'm concerned it's pretty much a wash between the Chi and the Sedu. Now......we'll see if my Sedu lasts for seven years: that will be the TRUE test!

Excellent!!! I did much research (for months) and finally decided on the Sedu over the Solia bc I feared my fine and thin hair being teared out, and the Sedu was recommended. It is so smooth, heats up within 30 seconds and does an excellent job! I am so happy with this purchase! (Granted I can not compare it to the Solia, but I would not exchange it).

I purchased the Sedu 1" ceramic flat iron as a replacement for Rusk 1" ceramic hair iron that was purchased and only had a life span of 3 months. The Sedu ceramic flat iron heats quickly and straightens your hair quickly and easily. It continuously heats and works as expected. I wish I had found Sedu before wasting my money on the Rusk ceramic flat iron. This iron is superb!

I have been through several Ceramic Flat Irons and Sedu is by far the best. Unlike most cermaic flat irons, the ceramic plates are smooth and shiny giving your hair a smooth and shiny finish. It doesn't pull like most flat irons do. I recommend this product to everyone. Thsi is the only brand I will buy from now on.

I bought the CHI and the thing melted the first time I used it, the switch melted to the "on" position....it burned my cabinet top ....oh am I mad.....
My daughter suggested the SEDU....it is fantastic, I have had it a couple months now...it is so wonderful...smooths my hair or curls it depending on how I hold it....I AM TOTALLY SOLD ON SEDU products...

I think i'm the only that has something negative to say about the Sedu flat iron. I really did not like it. I always put it on the 410 degree setting and I still had to go over the same section a few times. I just called Folica and I'm going to exchange my Sedu for a Chi. I had a Chi prior to this one so at least I know they work. Maybe I just happened to get a lemon of a flat iron...

I was debating on whether or not to buy the Sedu or the Chi--I read all of the reviews and decided on the Sedu. I've never spent so much money on a straightner and I'm soo glad I did. I have VERY thick and wavy long hair, and this straightner didn't Break any of my hair, and made it sleek, smooth, and flat (but it looked awesome). I'm so glad I bought this straightner, it's worth every penny. I never realized the differences on good straightners and sorry ones, but I'm 100% happy w/ this straightner!!!!!

gosh, i had bought so many straightners in life, n yeah till now i found Sedu da best, it makes ur hair sooo shiny n cute dat u will love it, but yeah n'ver let ur friend borrow it, like i did cause den friends just keep the straightner and dont return it.

I've used HAI convertable for almost 3 years and I loved it. But sadly, the cord came loose and it went dead. After doing some research online, I've decided to purchase Sedu. And I'm so glad I did! I have the thinnest, most fragile hair ever (and yes, I still use hot irons T_T), so I set the iron no more than 360 degrees. Apply some CHI silk inufsion, then start styling my hair. My hair felt soooo soft and silky afterwards! It worked much better than when I fist used HAI convertable flat iron. I'll definitely repurchase this in the future.

I just got my flat iron in the mail and went immediately to straighten my long hair. I have thick very wavy hair that reacts to the humidity in the air (rainy days are bad for me - I end up with big hair). It straightened it jennifer aniston straight in 10 minutes! I was shocked!
Well worth the money!

So as if this hair straightner needs another excellent review, but I will put my two cents in anyway. For years I would straighten my hair with cheapo brands that I thought at the time were great. However over time, my hair would get damaged more and more. I owned like most, a hot tools hair straightner. It chipped and wouldn't heat up that well over time. My hair would get ripped out..OUCH! I never wanted to buy one of the more expensive hair straightners because money was tight and I was afraid to invest in a product I was unsure about.
The good news now! I finally broke down and bought myself this awesome straightner by Sedu! And thanks to Folica.com for getting it to me so quickly! The free shipping is a plus. This flat iron heats up unbelievably fast, and does what it claims it can do! Flip, curl, straighten..all in a matter of seconds. My hair is wavy/curly and I was just amazed by the results. This iron hands down has won me over! Well worth the money spent. Now go Sedu your hair!

I must say that I never buy things on line, but my schedule is hectic and decided to take a chance.. Let me tell you that I am so glad I did, it is the best one ever. I think its much better then the new model. The new one pulls your hair....This one i a true classic....

and i'm not lying either...I'm 13 years old & my sister bought this flat iron for me and I've had gorgeous hair since! it has a long cord that doesn't curl, it does not burn your hair it leaves it smelling like your shampoo! just love that! omg and it doesn't pull out your hair either, it gives you bouncy, thicker hair. unlike with other flat irons, sedu gives you gorgeous salon looking hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes i hav bi racial hair, but more on the softer and silkier side than tough. ever since ive been using this flat iron IVE GOT COMPLEMENTS from men, women, ppl of all ages, races and religions. lol omg everybody loves and wants my hair. my hair stylist even said that this flat iron is better than chi. trust me! Awesome! Received the item within days. The flat iron is lightweight and the end results are incredible. I would recommend this flat iron to everyone. I previously owned another flat iron (high end) and it was great too; however, this one is the best byn far. You will not be disappointed. Love it!

I think this is the best flatiron I have used. I tried the Solia, but it would stick as I was straightening my hair, leaving marks on my hair. The Sedu glides perfectly from the top of your head so you get perfectly straight hair. I have also used the Chi and much prefer the Sedu. I even bought the European version and use it when I travel. You can't go wrong!

Love it, love it. Puchased the Solia first and returned it - this iron is a thousand times better! So easy to work with, heats in a flash and glides through my thick, unruly shoulder length hair with ease. Worth every penny!

I have east indian, naturally curly hair. I was a die-hard CHI fan, until I tried using it in Portugal...who knew you couldn't use the things abroad! Stumbled upon Folica.com and originally bought the FHI iron...while it was good, it wasn't great...it was bulky, heavy and I found that when you "clamped" it down on a section of hair, you really had to squeeze the thing tight. Returned it (Folica.Com Customer care is amazing!) and spent hours reading through the customer reviews for the Sedu. And for the price, it's an amazing iron. It's extremely lightweight and does the job, leaving my hair fantastically shiny. It's survived being dropped by an accident-prone sibling a couple of times and it's got an amazing sleek look. If you are looking for a good iron, I would recommend this or the chi classic.

I've had my Sedu for about a month and I love it! I used to have a Chi and I like this one much better..it gets hotter and is much smoother through the hair. It also gets hot very fast and stays hot. Also makes my hair much more shiny...great product!

This straightener honestly works miracles. My hair is on the thicker side and its wavy/curly about 7 inches past my shoulder. I bought the sedu for the first time and i absolutely love it! I bought it around a month ago and its done nothing but make my hair smoother, softer and shinier. I can do my hair so fast too
this morning i woke up 15 minutes before the bus came and managed to do my hair in 10 minutes which would normally take my conair about an HOUR! go ahead and save up and buy it, its so worth it!
