This is absolutely, bar none, the best flat iron I have ever used! It's fast, easy and my hair is shiney and beautiful every time. Everyone I know wants to know what I've dome to make my hair look so good. This is a must have product!

I have been using my cheap Remington Wet/Dry for years and was o.k. with the results. But was very frustrated when I left the house and entered the humid hawaiian weather, that my hair would frizz up again. I have very, thick wavy, full hair. I ordered my Sedu last Friday night after alot of deliberation and received it on Wednesday. I immediately washed my hair and the only thing I put in my hair after was some P/M, Super Skinny Serum because I wanted to see just how well this iron worked on my hair. I blow dried it and low and behold, this flat iron is AMAZING!!! I AM TRULY A BELIEVER!!! My hair is so smooth and silky. It took me about 45 minutes where as it would take me 2 hours with my Wet/Dry. I used it on Wed. and I have not washed my hair yet, but even after sleeping on it and twisting it up with hair clips, it has still not lost its straightness, not even a dent. I haven't had to touch it up once. I'd encourage everyone who's tired of dealing with cheap substitutes to try this flat iron. You'll fall in love with the results just like I did. I'm recommending it to all my friends and they can tell the difference as well. No more spending $300 at the salon for chemical straightening. I GOT MY NEW BEST FRIEND! MUCH MAHALO SEDU!

This iron is perfect for you if you also like to scrunch your hair sometimes. I don't have hard to straighten hair, but after using the cheap straighteners my hair was breaking and so dry that it wouldn't scrunch into a curl anymore. I have had my sedu 2 months now and my hair is so much smoother and moisturized that if i decide to wear it curly in between straightening it, it looks great!

I bought this around Christmas (for $75) and love it. I previously had a Wigo flat iron and it has so much build up that I couldn't get off and just wouldn't work. I love this Sedu flat iron. I have hair just below my shoulders which is relatively thick...BUT each strand is quite fine. It saves me soo much time in the mornings! I recommend!

I was formerly a Chi owner, but decided to try this model based on specs and other consumer reviews. All true! Leaves my moderately wavy/frizzy hair very smooth. People are surprised to learn that I have naturally wavy hair,lol. Easy to use, plates are the perfect size and heats up in literally seconds.

I bought this product after doing ALOT of consumer research about high end hair styling products. This by far has given me the best results I've ever had with a flat iron. And that's saying alot, because I have tightly curled ("kinky") African American hair. I read some of the reviews before purchasing the Sedu and I thought there is no way that all of these are legitimate. Someone must be working for Folica or Sedu and lying about the product online to get people to buy it. But honestly it is the single best flat iron I've ever had in my life, and it really does help to make your hair smoother and healthier. As with any product though you should be using high quality hair products for your hair type to get the best results. Don't expect to use 2 dollar shampoo and conditioner and get the best results ever. I spend a bit more $ (Nexxus, Biosilk), and get salon quality results on my own with more expensive hair products.
If you are African American, the product definitely helps straighten your roots between touch ups on your Texturizer or Perm.

i must say i was thinking its just another one of those straightners that are said to be such a good product and they really suck. My hair well its got a kind of natural curl and a real poof ball if i dont straighten it. i had been looking at buying a chi, i had my heart set on one, and then before i wanted to make the commitment to buying it, i decided to actually read more then just a few reviews and im GLAD! Its amazing as SOON as i turned the iron on, the heat is CRAZY! i have an endless battle after i first straighen it to keep the curl at the bottom of my hair gone and so far is HOLDING Up, it shall be a good test on this tonight, but i must say i would probably buy another one after this one, and its SO soft my hair is usually soft but its JUST hard to keep your hands OUTof it after you use it. In all BUY ONE:) sure the chis good to but it has to many possible problems with them breaking so much, so this is deffinetly a MUST product!

I was expecting a total miracle. I don't think it cut down on my styling time and I didn't notice that it made my hair any straighter or sleeker than my Revlon hair straightener. My hair is somewhat course and naturally wavy and very thick. I keep a pretty short angled bob and have my hair colored every 5-6 weeks. I love my hair and spend a lot of time on it and quite a bit of money on it. I like the Sedu, but don't think I will pay the same cost for it again. I would say it is only a little better than average- definently not worth $100+. Maybe I will try the Chi next time.

I'm a 50 yr. old, grey-haired, novice with flat irons. My daughters liked another brand, but I stepped-out and picked this one. We all love it! Call it a mid-life-crises, but I've grown my hair out for the first time in 10 years. This iron is gentle on my thick, wirey hair, and leaves it smooth and soft.

i have had curly hair for my whole life and never wanted to straighten it for fear of looking like shelly duvall (you know, the chick who played jack nicholson's wife in the shining.) we all know how GREAT her hair looked (definitely, not). but then i decided to give it a try and did lots of research on which brand to buy. this site had extensive reviews by numerous people who all said the sedu is great so i tried it. well......IT IS!!! it really tames my flyaways and gets it super straight. i bought the CHI silk infusion with it, which i must recommend you use before you dry it to make the most of your blow out. i really think this flat iron is just super and highly recommend it!

I have been the owner of MANY straighters and when my last one started to wear down I did some research. This was by far the highest rated, most popular flat iron in North America and more than worth the price. I've since had friends visit, use my iron and purchase there own from here afterwards.
CON: shipping to Canada. As Folica.com ships via UPS there is a COD on the package. Translation: you must be home to pay the COD. They will make three attemps during the day and after will ship back to Folica.com (will not hold at an outlet). I begged my front desk to take the $5 for the delivery. Plan B was to stay home from work.
Good...But I wouldnt say its GREAT!!! like all the others on here.

This is why...I have been using my HAI straightner for about 3 years now....but after replacing it twice and my second iron having the blue coting come off..i went and searched for a better iron. Impresed with all the review i decided to give the SEDU a try. When it arrived...i was excited, as i took it into my hands it seemed very flimsy...but then again the article does say its light weight. so thats good.
Now my straighting time wasnt affected at all, it still took me 40 minutes to do my hair....maybe its because i take good time to do my hair. But thats besides the point. The only thing that bothered me was that the iron HEATS UP INTENSIVELY. I am unable to hold the iron from the tip of it to have better control of making curls. My fingers are sore from the heat. So its not that good to curl hair, unless you are very good at making curls with one hand. ALSO, my cord was not a revolving cord... :/ what the heck...so as i was trying to curl my hair....the cord kept getting tangled. so thats my review...
*its good, and it IS very light...good
*didnt see super fast straighting time
*iron gets SUPER hot to the touch (i had it at 320 degrees)
*cord tangles as i twist to make curls.
*before i forget...i did notice NO BREAKAGE of my hair like i did with my HAI. only 3 long hairs but thats normal.
*overall i would buy it again, but only if they would improve the heat control.

I love my new Sedu flat iron! It's the BEST, it heats up quickly and straightins my hair quickly. Before I had a conair and I THOUGHT I loved it until I tried my Sedu. I've tried both a Chi and T3 and Sedu is still my favorite. Try a Sedu, I promise you will love it!

I received this flat iron as a christmas present from my boyfriend, because I had researched it & read everyone else's reviews I had high hopes & expectations for sedu. I must say.. my expectations were met completely. This straightner has given me the best results of any straightner I've ever used, this is salon quality results, it's amazing. My hair looked so healthy and feels so soft and light, and it STAYS, even overnight!
The sedu is also extremely light and heats up real fast! I have shoulder length hair, a little bit longer than that now, and my hair is quite thick, but I've found this extremely easy to manuever throughout my hair, easily reaching all sections and close to the root.
I recommend this straightner to EVERYONE who loves straight hair & has to straighten their hair.

I bought the sedu after reading other reviews and seeing the pictures. I am an African American and usually keep my hair in micro braids or kinky twists. I haven't had a perm in 6 years. I will never get a perm again. I like my natural hair so much better even though it is hard to manage. My natural hair is very strong and thick but delicate at the same time. I need to condition and press it in between braiding so that there is no breakage. I break teeth out of hair dryer combs (and regular combs) all the time. I thought, what the heck I will try this sedu thing. I was just going to do a small portion to test it and I ended up doing my entire head, it was so easy. Your hair gets a bit straighter and easier to manage each time you use it. I liked it. It's not perfect, my hair is super course, but it is good enough for me to manage my hair. The sedu made my hair soft and gave it a shine. Someone in the reviews suggested using John Frieda Frizz-ease hair serum so I did that. When I went to get my micros' my hair dresser of 7 years asked me what I used on my hair. She did not believe it was a flat iron. I didn't give it 5 stars because of my hair texture, I don't want people to think it's a miracle. On the other hand ANYONE can use this product and enjoy the results. It is a very good product. For someone who doesn't even have my hair type it wil be an EXCELLENT product.

I have super curly hair, and it usally would take me up to one hour to get it straight with the Chi I used to own. I hairstylist used the Sedu on me and I fell in love with it. I purshased my own and I takes me 20 mins. to get my hair silky straight. I would recommend this product to everyone.

wayyy better than my last chi ( the pink one)
it actually gets super hot
my hair gets stick straight ( the old pink chi i had just kind of straightened it but not as pretty as this sedu =] )
it looks small but its similar to my pink chi, and it does get the job done.
wayy worth your money.
i researched for a long time and i'm much happier than i would have been with any chi.
just get it =]

I purchased the 1" flat iron based on the great feedback from other customers. It heats up quickly and straightens just fine, but it pulls my hair quite a bit. Maybe it's me, we'll see.
