yes, Peru uses 220V and euro plug | real ceramic
hi, many other hair straighteners i use over a length of a couple of months start to chip off. I was wondering if the sedu is real ceramic plated or ceramic coated. Many others i have used have only been ceramic coated and end up chipping off on my hair. Also will this flat iron leave a bad smell in my hair? Many other ones i have used leave a smell of burnt in it.. even if i put heat protectant in it, also could u recommend a heat protectant that works good? Yes, this iron is designed to use in European countries. You do not need converter or adaptors. | What plate width?

i have the same hair as you ...go with the 1.5 inch plate | Euro/US
If I purchase the Euro Edition Sedu FLat Iron for when I go to France, can I use it here in the US with a plug adaptor? Or is it going to burn it? I am thinnking that since it is 220V in Europe and only 110V in the US it would be safe to use the Euro version here?YES? NO? Euro Edition can not be in the US. Only in countries with 220V. | | Reply by Julia

It will not work unless you buy an (expensive) current adaptor. A simple plug adaptor will NOT work because there is not high enough current in the USA for European tools. | Euro + usa edition ???
I live couple months here in US and few months in Europe. Is any flat iron I can use here an there too? Thanx Question posted by Maria Sat Aug 13 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Monica

You can use any flat iron in both countries but you need to buy a voltage or power converter. You can buy it in Best Buy, Circuit City or any other electronic stores. Just ask a sales person they are very helpful. US made iron need a converter from 110V to 220V. European made iron need a converter from 220V to 110V. You can buy them here too: http://www.jr.com/JRSectionView.process?Section=1383
Since I have stuff from both areas I have two converters. | | Reply by Sandra

Be very careful when buying a voltage power converter. I used US version of Sedu in New Zealand (220-230V), I had "proper" converter and all, but 20 seconds later Sedu overheated and died. I then read the fine print on the back of the voltage converter which stated "not to be used with appliances that heat up". Wish I've read it beforehand! Since then, I've found that most voltage converters cannot in fact be used with flat irons. Your best bet is to buy a converter in a section where flat irons/blowdryers are sold (most drugstores have one) and by all means read the fine print on the back of them :-) | Sedu Flat Iron euro Edition 1 or 1½"?

I think buying Sedu is a great idea. The 1" is for shorter hair or bangs while the 1 1/2 is better for longer hair. I'd recommend you to buy the 1 1/2. |
