Curly, Frizzy, and nappy
Will it take all of that away. My hair is curly and alot of straightners that Ive used left a smell to my hair and it would go frizzy within 1 hour. Is it true what they say?

How long does your hair remain straight?
Say I have staright hair already. But it's a little stiff and when it drys, there are a few parts that curl just a tiny bit. About how long would it keep my hair straight? Is this product short term or long term? I wash my hair about every 3-4 days.

Sports
I play soccer and when I play I usually wear my hair up in a straight ponytail. By the end of the practice or game it is curly again (sweat ewww). Will my hair stay straight if I use the sedu 1 1/2? I have about 2 inches passed my shoulders and alittle curly hair. And how long would it take?

yeah, the same thing always happened to me. and it still does with the Sedu straightener, but I think no matter what kind of straightener you use, it will get curly because of the sweat.

Look, I really want to know if this really works, and since my family doesn't have a lot of money, I'd like to know if this is something I should get
I have a conair hair straightener and it makes my hair split at the ends and become coarse, that's why I'm trying to convince my mom to allow me to get it. We don't have a lot of money anymore, so I really want to know if this is truly something like a miracle. My hair is just plain disgusting and I feel horrible and embarrassed when I go to school. THat's why I hope someone can tell me if it really does work (preferrably someone whose bought this, pleez) and if it is worth that amount of money (which is really expensive to me :-( .) I want to know if it really get's your hair really straight and shiny, so I don't have to buy anything else to make it that way, even with the hair straightener. Someone, please answer to this, I really want to know :o) Thank you to whoever will answer me.

I bought the Sedu a few weeks ago and it really leaves the hair straight. Just like the pictures you should have seen on the reviews. You won't need anything else besides the iron to make you hair straight. I would only recomend a thermal protection spray because the iron gets really hot. The good thing about Folica is that you can return it if you're not pleased plus they offer free shipping so you don't have anything to loose. Having nice hair boost someones confidence, especially when the hair gets complimented.

Yes, the Sedu works *wonderfully*! I had a Conair once too, and it snagged/fried my hair .. you'll be amazed by the Sedu, there's no comparison between it and the Conair. I understand your concern, I don't have a lot of money either and the Sedu was a huge purchase for me that I debated on for several months! If you baby your iron it should last you for years (my last one lasted for 3 years) so you should get your money's worth. The Sedu gets your hair straight and shiny .. for best results section your hair off when you iron, and take your time. :) For extra shine try something like "Matrix Iron Smoother" before you iron (this will protect your hair from heat damage), and "Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum" as a finisher. They're both a bit pricey but a little goes a long way (my last bottle of serum lasted for a year!)

I have the same problem as you do, my family is very strict on what is good for what amount of money. I have like 300 dollars worth of money and i dont think my mom would want me to spend it on a flat iron unless she fins out its like on of the best.. and i also have a conair now.. it worked fine wen i first bought it but now its starting to die on me unless i spend a considerable amount of time on it.. i'm probably going to get the sedu, you should too.. if your parents dont get it save up your money and maybe then they'd let you =]

it does work really well. it makes your hair smooth and frizz free. it gets shiny too. i used to have a conair, and it does mess up your hair, but there is a big difference wih the sedu. you could also get the 1 inch for like 10 bucks less. i have also had the solia, which works good also, and is like 30 bucks cheaper, but i still prefer the sedu, because it curls and flips your hair better than the solia. but the solia is good if you just want to straighten your hair.

Solia and Sedu
What's the difference between the solia and the sedu? they both seem like the same exact product, but the sedu is much more expensive. Can anyone tell me why? Im thinking about buying a new straightener, but i want the best one i can get. I dont see the point in spending $125 for a straightener if i can get one for $88 that does the same thing. Someone please help me with my delema!PS:Is there anyone who has used both the sedu and the solia, and if so, which hair straightener gave longer lasting results?

Hi, I don't know about you, but I am going with the Sedu. I was in doubt yesterday about getting a Solia or a Sedu and I thought that the SEDU would be better, because the I don't like the idea that the Solia has movable plates. I did like idea of having a Sedu because, even though it gets very hot, I still think that would be great for me because i can adjust the temperature, I can use with a voltage converter and the plates don't move. Well, I hope it helps you, because I had the same dilema. PS: Spoke with a Folica Customer service rep, and she said or SEDU or HAI, those are the best. Well, Good luck with your choice, but if you don't like, you can always change... Tchau

I've been debating between the Solia & Sedu for some time too. Here's something that might help you: check makeupalley.com .. search for "Sedu" and look for the review by "mashimaru". She purchased both the Solia & Sedu and lists the pros & cons of each.

how long??
how long does the Sedu usually last? ive tried conair (did not work at all) and i went through countless hot tools...which died in like a month and im just wondering if spending the 125 is worth it.

i've had 4 straightening irons, 3 of them from conair and worked like crap. The sedu definitely made a difference and it doesn't damage your hair like Conair and Chi, etc. Sedu does get very hot on the outside though, so be careful when you hold it. Other than that, it really works for me.

Is the Sedu good for all types of hair?
I have pretty good hair. I'm African American with thick relaxed hair. All the pics I've seen on the site is pretty much of people with curly hair who have used the Sedu and it really did help. But I haven't seen any hair similar to mine which makes me think the sedu would do damage to my hair since its not super curly and wavy. I just want to know would it make any sense for me to spend all this money for the straightener when my hair isn't an extreme bad case. After washing my hair and blow drying it - it gets poofy and I want something besides a regular flat iron that will make my hair straight and pretty. Please help!

all the reviews and ratings seem to be pointing out that sedu works really well for people with thick hair. if your hair is already straight, it is probably gonna make it soft and smooth and silky.

Definitely! I use two straightening irons one specifically for my wet hair (because you shouldnt use the sedu on wet hair and I hate blowdrying) and the sedu. The flat iron I use for my wet hair does a decent job at straightening my hair (I have wavy thick hair) by the time I use the sedu my hair is already straightened but only the sedu makes my hair soft, silky, and super FLAT no puffiness. No product I've ever used on its own, be it a flat iron, blow dryer, straightening serums/shampoo has ever made my hair feel this healthy. Try it you will be amazed.

I spoke with a sales rep at Folica and she recommended the Solia for thick, processed hair. I have mid-back length, relaxed, and hilighted hair so I was concerned about preventing any further damage. I was about to purchase Sedu, but I called and the rep recommended Solia based on my concerns.

Warranty
Does a Sedu have a warranty on folica. So if something happens to it can folica do anything about it? Please help. Give me some kind of input.

YES! My sedu broke within the one year warranty I had for my sedu (you should remember to register on the sedu website) and I contacted folica and they told me to send it back to them and they would send me a new one (you also have to send them a check to pay for shipping something like $10) the entire process was very fast 2 days after they received my broken iron they told me they had shipped my new one out to me I would say it only took a week or so for me to receive my new sedu.

Sedu VS FHI
I am considering between the Sedu and FHI. I've read a lot of the great reviews on Sedu. Did Folica ever sell FHI? Why don't they? Are FHI good quality? Is it similiar to CHI? Can the Sedu curl or flip hair? Thanks!

I found FHI on this site too, but it said it was discontinued, I guess they did carry it at one time but now no longer stocks it. Reviews weren't great on FHI, so i didn't bother with it.
