I was wondering what kind of mousse or hairspray that would give some kind of volume? I usually wash/condition and put in frizz serum wet hair then blow dry but I need volume too. Any help will be appreciated. Question posted by Shelby Tue Feb 14 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Michelle

To add volume to my hair I use WHIPPED! Volume by V05.
It is light and it won't weigh down your hair.It also resists humidity to keep your style fuller longer. It can be found in Drug Stores. To get the maxium volume I use Garnier Fructis XXL Volume Mousse. It does not cause stickiness or buildup unlike some other brands. It also holds your style the whole day. This product can also be found in Drug Stores. Both are great products to use! | | Reply by kae

Mousse Mousse Mousse! hairspray clumps up your hair and you will never be able to run your fingers through your hair! Mousse however adds volume w/o making your hair stick together. After moussing, try blowing your hair upside down. major volume! | electrical cord
Could someone please let me know if the electrical cord connected to the swivel attached to this flat iron is very flexible? I purchased a flat iron with a swivel but the cord was so heavy and stiff it hampered the ease of movement of the iron making it difficult to use. It is destined to be sold at my next garage sale. The cord doesn't get in my way. The only time it does is when it gets caught on my cabinet handle. | | Reply by Marilyn

For other hair appliances, you can use a baking soda paste and rub away the grime that can build up. Be sure the appliance is unplugged. Mix baking soda with water to form a nice paste, you don't want it too runny, then take a soft cloth and buff away. Wipe off the appliance with a damp cloth to get rid of the left over paste. Let the appliance dry throughly before plugging in. :) | | Reply by kasper

since you have shorter hair, i would use the 1 inch. the 1 inch is better to use for shorter hair so it is easier to control. so i would say the 1 inch | | Reply by Jenny

Definately go for the 1 inch straightener if you have like shoulder length hair and you want to curl it out at the ends! | gel or mousse after straightening

if you put mouse in your hair after straightening it it will make it curl but if you use gel to hold it in a ponytail or somthing it should keep it straight but i suggest using hairspray because that's what I do and my hair stays straight. | | Reply by cee

depends on how much you use. the more water that is added to the hair, the more prone your hair would be to curling up. best bet? use hairspray, preferably herbal essence extra hold hairspray. it adds volume if you need it and allows for movement for that mousse effect. | | Reply by kahpri

Aveda Anti-Humectant Pomade. I wouldn't live with out it. Just a small amount distributed evenly throughout after you have finished styling your hair completely. This creates a fairly good moisture barrier and smells awesome! | HOw fast?

well, with anything, if you take your time, it will look better. if you go fast and carelessly, then the result will be even more time consuming. if you go too slow, you will burn your hair. so go at a steady pace, but still take your time. | 1 inch or 1.5 inch?
I have curly hair that comes to my shoulder. Currently I'm using the CHI turbo 1 inch. I'm not sure if I should get the Sedu 1 or 1.5 inch. Which is better?I love my CHI, but everyone says the SEDU is even better, I just want to make sure I get the right size! :) Question posted by Sarah Tue Dec 20 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Brinley

you should get 1.5 inch. your hair will grow, and you dont want to spend your money AGAIN on the 1.5 if you get the 1 inch. besides, the 1.5 can probably straighten your hair faster since it can hold more in its plates. =) | Can you use with hair products?

You are able to use hair products such as gel but I do not recommend it for it will damage your hair. The chemicals will cause your hair to burn, and it could cause sever damage long-term. | | Reply by Hana

From product details: "Faster heat-up time than conventional coil straightening irons - It will rise to the desired temperature in less than 25 seconds from being turned on. Therefore, to save electricity and prolong lifespan, it should be turned off between uses with the Off-On switch located on the temperature control thermostat. It still saves half the time of conventional models."
I don't know why you would want to leave it on all the time anyways. | | Reply by Isabella

yes it is bad to leave it on all the time. one because it can blow out. it also isnt good because if someone doesnt know its on, and they hit into it, they can either burn themselves badly, or the sedu can drop and break. yes it can cause a fire if you leave it near something flammable im sure. | | Reply by Julez

Why would you want to?? First of all, that's dangerous. Second of all, It's wasteful and third of all, it's just pointless! Why not wait 30 seconds for the iron to heat up! It's not hard! | | Reply by Jenna

No, you can't leave it on. Why would you? Use it when ever you want to but when you are done with it turn it off and plug it off. | | Reply by Joanie

I was told by my hairdresser that if you leave any flat iron on all the time it will burn out the heating element in it. The Sedu gets very hot very quickly, (about 15 seconds), if you leave it on you will always have the chance of a fire, and someone who doesn't know it's on will get burned. | is there a full refund on this product if I am not happy with the results?
