My daughter loves having her hair straightened since her hair is very thick and wavy. She hates sitting for 45 minutes with me blow drying it. I plan to buy the Sedu but I was wondering, does it work quickly? Or take a while to do it perfectly?? Question posted by Nina Tue Jun 21 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Shaunie

You still need to dry your hair but after your hair is dried it takes about 10 minutes to straighten your hair. My hair has never looked healthier than it has since I bought the Sedu straightener. | Sedu or Solia?
I am looking to purchase a flat iron, and am stuck between the Sedu 1 1/2 inch or the Solia 1 1/4 inch. Does anybody have advice on which is better? Thanks! Question posted by Laura Mon Jun 20 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Stephanie

I would definitely recommend the Sedu. I have very thick, curly hair and it straightens it very easily - best of all hair is so shiny and silky. | | Reply by Lauren V.

I WOULD GO WITH SEDU ONLY BECAUSE IT WAS FEATURED IN ALLURE MAGAZINE, WHICH IS HOW I HEARD ABOUT IT. ALSO, IT IS THE #1 STRAIGHTENER ON THIS SITE WITH AMAZING REVIEWS. | | Reply by Melissa

It really depends on the length of your hair. I have hair just past the shoulder and I use a 1 1/2 inch flat iron. The bigger the iron size, the easier it is to straighten your hair. If you have short hair, I would get a smaller sized one so you can easily get close to the head. | Euro Edition 220 volt 1" and 1-1/2" Hair Iron
Want to know if this Euro edition hair iron also has all the same features as your regular ceramic hair straighteners that you sell for U.S., i.e. the ceramic/tourmaline plates, etc. Question posted by Melva Quiroga Mon Jun 20 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Customer Service

Yes, all features and basic designs are the same for both Euro and UK version flat irons. The differences are the voltage and plug shape for oversea usage. | QUESTION ABOUT WATTAGE
IF THE HOT TOOLS HAS "170 watts of power for fast heat-up and instant heat recovery", SHOULDNT ONE THAT IS 100 DOLLARS MORE, LIKE THIS SEDU, HAVE MORE THAN 110 WATTS? Question posted by Amy Sun Jun 19 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Customer Service

Wattage alone does not determine iron's power. In fact, most higher quality flat irons actually have lower wattage so they are more energy effcient (saves more electricity). Sedu has top quality heating elements and overall design and is in fact more powerful than Hot Tools 170W Flat Irons | Length, thickness, and time.
My hair is really really thick and wavy/curly/kinky. It is down to my middle back (about... right above my belly button). How long do you think it would take to straighten it using this? What size should I get? and What products (like gels or sprays) should I get to keep it less frizzy and stay straighter longer? Thanks so much. I have found that Kerastase Oleo Serum for frizzy hair works WONDERS and also Bedhead shine spray (hot pink/violet bottle with green top) helps. For cheaper products (Kerastase can be around $30, bedhead $18) use any of the anti-frizz serums. They are not bad for what you pay and you don't get the crunchy feel afterward. These products coat the shaft and make the hair more resistant to humidity and recurling/frizzing. I have hair down to my brastrap and it is also like yours. It would probably take 30 minutes to straighten. That's a guess. I am slow at everything I do, but it shouldn't take longer than that. ;) Hope this helps! | Will it work on frizzy curly wavy coarse hair?

Yep, it repels humidity really good and the best iron that I have used so far and I love it! Of course putting spray or serum on afterward helps too. | | Reply by Diana

I work in a place that has 100% humidity and my hair does not stay straight under these extreme conditions it gets frizzy and puffy but if I use a straightening serum it prolongs the effects of the iron. | Sedu on Towel-Dried Hair?
Can the Sedu be used on towel-dried, damp hair, or am I better off using the Solia for this? Question posted by Colette Fri Jun 10 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Paula J.

yes, it can. But for best results, use flat iron on dry or slightly damp hair (true for ANY flat iron). | | Reply by jill
