worked great...for a little while

when i first got my sedu straightener i LOVED it! It works great on my hair, and i have really curly hair that frizzes all the time. The sedu stopped all of my frizzies and also straightened my hair really fast. My friend loved it also and wanted to buy one sooooo bad. But the first one i bought only worked for about a week and then the green light wouldnt come on anymore, and it wouldnt get hot. So i took it back and exchanged it for another one thinking that i must have got a bad one. So the second one i got worked longer than a week, but about 3-4 months later it too quit working for no reason. i took really good care of it so i dont know what went wrong. Its ridiculous to spend that much money on a product for it only to work for a few months. I cant even take this one back because my mom threw out the box, so now i have to go buy another one. what a waste of money!

Best flat iron i have owned

First of all, I have very curly hair that is normally very frizzy. I have owned several irons including a Chi. They all straightened relatively well but as soon as I was around any sort of humidity my hair would frizz again. I bought this flat iron after my Chi broke (I had it two years) along with the One and Only chemical hair straightner. I used the One and Only which works with great results, then used my Sedu followed by Biolage conditioner for course, thick hair. Wow, I used to have bad hair days even after using my Chi but not with the Sedu. It is very lightweight, has a heat setting, a long cord, and has never pulled my hair. The only thing I wish they would improve is to extend the end of the iron so I can help guide it with both hands without burning myself. Finally, it used to take an hour to blow dry my hair and straighten it (shoulder length hair) but not only takes 30 minutes if that and I only have to go over it once. This is the best flat iron I have owned.

OMG. I have owned a few other irons in the past and wrote them all off due to damage inflicted on my hair. I hesitated for more than 6 years, and delayed buying a quality straightening tool. I was scarred and the trauma my hair suffered led me to believe that my hair and thermal straightening was a no no. Okay, I finally took the plunge and bought this iron. The 20 bucks off and free gift helped; but the 2 year warranty sealed the deal. It arrived super fast...3 days isn't that fantastic!!! Okay, I look at it as I feel knots developing in my stomach; I get flashbacks of what my hair looked like after all the other irons. I pluged it in and fired it up but did not have the courage to put it in my hair. It took me 6 years to regrow the hair I cut off from thermal damage. I unplug it allow it to cool and return it to the box. 2 days later, I gave the shortie a dry run and OMG, I love it. The next day I washed and condition my hair. I air dry it and then get to work with Sedu. WHAT THE HECK!!!! This is an awesome piece of equipment and I am in love with it. The iron itself is ultra light weight and very comfortable to hold and work with. My hair is about 14 to 16 inches long each strand and this iron is so plesant to use. My whole head was done with 1-2 passes 360 degrees in 45 minutes flat (I kept stopping to admire the result between sections LOL). The hair was soft, had great movement. The body and shine was unbelievable. I called my husband in to see the transformation comparing Sedu side to air dried side. It actually left my hair in better condition. I am still in disbelief and can not stop touching the hair!!! Worth every dime and will buy again if quality remains like this. I can not believe all I missed out on. I absolutely love this Sedu.

It has its ups and downs

A few months ago I dropped and broke my hair straitner and purchased this sedu iron to replace it. It is nice looking, a decent weight, and mine came with a free stand that has come very much in handy for not burning my counter top. It does an okay job. I have extremely thick hair and most hair straitners don't work for me. Ive never used heat protector on my hair before but it it fried my hair so bad I had to cut 3 inches off my ends. But I turned the temp down to 400 and use a heat protect spray that has helped a ton. Also the only other negative I can think about it is that the handle gets so incredibly hot when straitning your hair that I actually had to start wearing gloves it hurt so bad. You could get a better straitner for a little less money Solia jusst gets glorified quite a bit. Its not that great though but its your call just make sure you do use a heat protector!! It doesn't make your hair in better condition like it claims!
