I Love the Mud

I have used mud for 15 years...my hair loves the stuff. I have had problems with the grainy formaula, not sure what causes this. Rumor has it is going to be discontinued! Whats a girl to do!!
No change in their great formula.

Just spoked with Sebastian customer service, as I too got some grainy cracked product. The formula has not been changed. The graininess and cracks are from improper handling, and the product should be exchanged, as it's damaged. Hope this helps. - AB

I have short, course hair with a bit of natural wave and I wear it spiky and sticking away from the head. I have used Molding Mud for eight years and I have found that the scent changed and the mud has granules of wax (I think) which fall out if I rub my fingers quickly through my hair. I have to look in several stores anymore before I can find it. It does seem like it has been sitting on the shelves a while by the time I find it. Any ideas how to get the maker to do a better job?

I am finding it increasingly more difficult to find Sebastian Molding Mud in salons and it is my favorite! I have naturally curly hair and it seems to be the only thing that works to smooth my curls and give my hair volume. When used correctly, it doesn't leave my hair heavy or greasy. Someone commented on the product itself changing to a granular substance. That would be a bad batch - probably been sitting on the shelf too long. I would recommend taking that lot back for a refund! As far as I can tell, they have not changed the recipe at all and it is still my absolute favorite product!

I've used Sebastian molding mud for a number of years, and I find it to be excellent for curly hair. My hair is naturally curly, and I use it to relax my hair and loosen the curls. I use it mostly while wearing my hair short and wet, but it works with dry hair, as well. Fannie B.

I have been using this product for about 5 years. I have natural curls and this product helps my curls not frizz, stay soft and define the curls. I love it!
Sebastian Molding Mud

I have been using Sebastian's molding mud for a number of years but it seems like they have changed more then just the packaging. The product has a much grainer feel to it then it did in the past. It also does not have the same scent. It still does the trick.
Great product to stop fly-away hair

I've used this product for YEARS. I take a little dab, rub it between my fingers, and run it through my hair. It does a great job of stopping fly-away hair.
