It's a strip wax!!! It is not supposed to cool on your skin. You're supposed to apply it in the direction of the hair growth, immediately apply the strip, rub it in the direction of the hair growth then remove the strip quickly in the direction opposite of the hair growth. That is what happens when people who are not professional cosmetologists try to perform skils that we spent hours becoming licensed to do! Get a clue or stick with Nair!!!
This thing sucks!

After waiting over 3 hours for it to heat up (with no instructions or advice about set temperature) I finally applied it and put the tape on it and let it cool, and when tried to pull it off, the tape pulled off leaving almost all the wax and pulled out very little hair. This product is horrible. I left the wax on my skin for over 5 minutes and it didn't cool enough to peel.
In addition the wax doesn't wash away easily leaving your skin ruff with wax. Sex is off limits for days because of this.
Try Nair facial-microwave wax (strip free) it was a way better product. you just heat up the wax in 1 minute in microwave, apply hot, cools in seconds and you rip away the entire piece of wax leaving bare smooth skin. it actually works perfect! i use the face wax for bikini and it works great!
Great for at home waxing

This is a great at home wax pot and an unbeatable price! This kit comes with everything you need to get started. The amount of strips and sticks will not last long, so be prepared to buy more soon. The warmer heats the wax in a very reasonable time, and it is easy to clean. It has a slight possiblity of tipping, since it is tall and top heavy with the wax in. Also, it does not come with a lid, so remember to keep the lid of the wax canister so you can cover it when you aren't using it. The wax works great, better than previous brands I have tried. I am very pleased with my purchase! Also, I ordered my pot and had it within two days. Great Shipping!
Love the wax

I looked all over for the satin smooth system. I was glad that I finally found it. The only problem that I have found. Is that the warmer does not get hot enough. Other than that. I have been very satisfied.

I purchased this unit over a year ago. Besides the cost savings echoed by others I found it relatively easy to use. Practice will perfect the technique. I am a frugal shopper, so instead of purchasing additional applicators and strips I simply cut up a clean white cotton shirt and visited a craftstore for wooden sticks in various sizes.
Excellent Product

After spending oodles of money on professional waxing, I decided that I would try it myself. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before deciding to try this kit. This kit is perfect for those who have experience being waxed (they know and understand the pain!) and want to try it themselves. Although I need to perfect my technique, the waxing went smoothly and without any incident. I even attempted my own Brazilian! The warmer is great - makes the waxing so easy. Also the products provided are good for skin preparation and recovery. I took the recommendations from other reviewers and purchased additional strips and applicators - great idea. I am so glad I made this purchase; in one use it paid for itself. Highly recommended!

This was my first experience with at home waxing, and besides the pain it went great. The wax took a while to heat up but i expected that and did other things while i was waiting. my husband and i did this together...i did his chest and he did my bikini area and we cleaned up very nice. like i said, it's painful but this was our first time so that is to be expected. it's kinda messy but we just put an old shirt down and clean up was easy. all the stuff that comes with it is nice, especially the residue cleaner. overall i am very happy with this product and the results we got. i bought extra strips too, and i'm glad i did.
Pretty impressive!

I was scared off by some reviews but figured that for this price, I'll buy it anyway and I'll be careful to let it warm up for the full amount of time it needed. That worked wonders. You must let it heat up for a full 4-5 hours for it to work perfectly. It did make quite a mess but I should've prepared myself more for it. Great product at a great low price! The best tip I can give you is to FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS and it will work just right!

I find it takes a LONG time for the wax to heat up. Other than that I like it.

This a a great kit. Good value for the money. Works well. The only thing missing are rings to put around the well so that it can catch the drips.
Very easy to use

This hair removal system has worked really well for me. I am a non-professional and found it very easy to use. Some of the other reviews said it took too long to heat up, but I just planned ahead, plugged it in at an outlet that was out of the way, and let it take its time melting the wax. I use it on facial hair and learned to put a towel over my chest to keep wax strings from getting on my clothes. The skin prep lotion and the wax removal lotion are great. The cooling lotion is OK and the moisturizer smells good but I don't need moisterizer. I learned the hard way not to re-wax an area where I missed some hairs. I think I caused a mild burn to my skin. Now I use a tweezer for any stray hairs I missed.

The shipping was speedy and Folica even sent the small pink bag as an added bonus. The wax takes a while to warm up but when it's done it works great. Keep in mind that you may have to purchase more wax strips.

I ordered this kit and it works wonderfully. It takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hour to get nice and warm but the best part is the whole package. For me I just use it for my upper lip and the amount of the products that this comes with will last me forever. Your gotta try it!!
SUCCESS!

My kit was delivered earlier today... after reading all the reviews, I knew it would take a while to melt the wax to the right consistency so I tore open the box and plugged the unit in asap! Five hours later, the waxing began... at first I was kind of slow and things were quite sticky/messy but I kept going... by the end, I had mastered the technique. Waxed between my eyebrows, upper lip, arms, and BIKINI! My leg hairs are not long enough to wax yet but now I'm going to let them grow out. I hate to say this but people who give this a bad rating are just not good at waxing, period. It's not the kit, it's them. This has payed for itself within its FIRST use... if that alone is not deserving of 5 stars, I don't know what is.
And as always, kudos for Folica for their excellent service!

So, I read the reviews for different at home waxing products and thought felt that this package might be a good deal.
Shipping was quick! Folica gets a 5 for that.
With the product itself, I had a very bad experience. I tried to follow the tips, such as prepping my skin by cleaning it and applying baby powder before applying the wax. I also heated the wax until it seemed "runny," as the directions recommended. It was running decently smoothly off the spatula, so I assumed that after 1.5 hrs of heating on the maximum setting, it was good enough (in a ~70 degree room).
What ensued was a lot, a lot, of pain. I tried to apply as thin of a film as I could on a part of my chest - and pulled off the muslin strip after having firmly pressed it on the area. This sh#t hurts like hell!!! My skin was also very red afterwards - evidently irritated. I did two more spots, and gave up - I asked myself how I was going to endure so much pain just to get some hair off my chest. So I said screw it.
Perhaps the was needed to be warmer and more "runny" for me to have better results - so that's recommendation # 1 for folks - perhaps try to warm it in something else if you can, or buying the wax separately and a better warmer that heats to higher temperatures. There's also the microwaveable wax alternative.
Secondly, I will warn people that honey wax is VERY hard to get off (even with the wax remover they send you). It also has an unpleasant smell to it. It is EXTREMELY sticky - so you might want to get a creme that's better on skin. It goes without saying, you better prepare the area where you're going to do this well. Have old towels around - cover every surface you work with - ground and elevated.
That's all folks - I shall never fux with waxing again! Too much pain, too little reward.

IT is recommended that you use the accessory products that where designed to be used with the wax to achieve the results desired. Satin Smooth has a cleanser that preps your skin and a skin soother for post waxing. You should purchase the wax that is best suited for your skin type and hair type.
This is why you should visit a beauty professional that carries the line so that you will have a customized waxing done properly and safely.
Each wax was designed for specific skin and hair differences.
Please be careful when using these products.
*For tender areas like arching the eyebrow, you can use an ice cube to numb the area.
** Be sure to cleanse the area you are waxing pre and post waxing to prevent infection.
Satin Smooth is a fantastic line when used properly.

Of course I read about every review for this product before I made my purchase. I have been waxed before, but never waxed myself and thought I would have no problem doing so...That was not the problem I dont know if I was allergic to some product that came with this system but after waxing the bottom part of my first leg it slowing began to hurt I stopped waxing at this point it was more time consuming than expected. I though okay no problem it was just waxed let it go. About six hours later the pain was so bad I looked at my leg and it was swollen with what appeared to be a red rash. It is the following day and my leg still hurts. This has never happened to me before so I decided to return this product.
Folica however should get five stars for there ease of ordering and extremely fast delivery!

I LOVE this product. As others have mentioned, the wax does take a while to heat up (at least an hour) but it is so easy to use and effective. Plus you cannot beat the price for this kit. I use it all the time for bikini waxes and also upper lip. Both are very easy to do, if a little messy, but the wax residue remover is effective at dissolving the extra wax. Goo Gone works too.
I would recommend adding a couple orders of extra strips and using baby powder on areas to be waxed. All in all, I am very pleased with this waxing kit.
GREAT Product For The Price!

I have recently purchased this product through FOLICA.COM and what a deal I got! I have read other people reviews, and I did not have the same problem that other people have had, in reference to the wax taking a long time to heat up. After reading everyone's review that did have a problem with this, I turned the heat up to high. I thought the wax heated up rather quickly even though I had a full tub. Of course, the less wax in the tub, the faster it heats up. I just adjust the heat setting, once it has reached the temperature I want.

I thought the kit was everything it was advertised to be. I have waxed before, but many years ago. I thought this was much easier to use than microwave wax, however it does take quite a while for the wax to get hot enough to use. Overall, I think it's a good deal and works just fine.
