Its basically a good product, but, I wish it came in a variety of colors. I am a 100% straight male, who just so happens to love wearing nail polish! I have for as long as I can remember. Its good to see Rolling Stone showing pictures of all the musicians in the newer rock bands that wear it, for ex) Tommy Lee. My girlfriends think its so cool. I wear, ususally, black on my fingers, and either black ,chrome, or gold on my toes. Thanks. Tony.
Great Stuff!

Goes on smooth and a single coat dries to a semi-gloss finish that very much resembles what a light buffing would produce.
Can get too shiny if you use more than one coat, or apply a single coat too thickly. So practice and then practice some more, until you get the desired look without using too much polish or more than the one coat.

I have tried a number of products to help strengthen my toenails. They have a tendancy to break at the edges (causing ingrown nails - ouch!) and split. After using Nails for Males for about three months, my nails were growing out strong and healthy! My girlfriend even suggested that I get a pedicure, so I did and it was a real treat.
I use Nails for Males regularly now on my toenails because it keeps them looking freat, and I don't have any problem with ingrown nails now either.

This product has been a long time overdue for the market. I really like it. Me, being like the guy from Collinsville that likes colored nails, I also like my nails to be polished in a variety of colors as well. Why? I guess I am an attention hog, I guess. Similarly, I also really like tattoos, for the same reason as I like colored polished fingers and toes, as a form of colorful self-expression. Nail colors are merely self expression. The issue of men wearing colored nail polish is no big deal anymore, it hasn't been for quite some time now. Even the ultimate fighter Chuck Liddell has worn two-tone pink and black toes (see ESPN mag article from this last May...). I could list hundreds of rock stars, pro athletes, extreme sports figures, and even surfers that wear nail polish for self expression. It is sort of like wearing a tattoo, but you can change the color of design whenever you see fit. I am sorry that one guy posted that he didn't like seeing colored toes shown here? I simply do not understand that, because, to me, why wear a product if you can't show it off??? I'm proud of my nails, and I'm lucky enough to be employed in an occupation that doesn't care about whether I wear nail polish or not. From a business standpoint, I can see why nail salons and polish manufacturers would want to have as many men as possible for customers, their overall sales would double! Personally, I'm glad that this product exists, I'm glad that society has gotten to the point where it doesn't care about whether a guy should wear polish or not. I'm totally comfortable in my own skin, 99% of the people who see my colored nails loves them, and that 1% who doesn't - tough!

Gives a nice finish to nails, especially helps giving a smooth appearance. Helps me not bite my nails too!
Works great for me!

All I could find locally was high gloss clear nail strengthener. Just a bit too glossy for me. And this has a nice satin finish that tones down the polish just enough when used as a top coat.
Great product for men (no-one knows its on)

Have been using it for a number of years now, and still haven't found anything better or even equal for that well groomed look. No offense, but to see the picture of a guys toes painted in the first review would turn a lot of guys away from this product. Don't forget the purpose of using this product at least for me and I'm sure others is that no-one knows that you have it on. So why would you want it in other colors when there are plenty of other products out there for color. Like I said before, a fantastic product for men who don't want people to know that they have polish on.

I am a woman, but this is my favorite nail product. I've always hated buffing my nails - they become thin and soft. This product gives the look of healthy, natural nails without the damage of excessive buffing.
The only complaint I have is that it seems to wear off quickly.
I love this product!

I am a young woman and this product is my favorite nail polish! I don't like flashy fingernails, and so I tried this product on a whim and fell in love. For some reason, it makes my finger nails grow at an alarming rate, which I can only assume is a sign they are healthy.

This is the premier product for men that get manicures.
If you have been holding back getting a maniucre because you hate the shiny glossy look that they use in most salons than this is for you

Goes on very smooth but just apply one coat to get a matte finish.

Too glossy. Not a true matte finish. Also dries too soft and too slowly.

The product works very well, accept that it flakes and breaks off after only one day. Otherwise, I have had no other problems.
Matte Finish

This polish is not "matte" enough. It does leave a semi-shine which is undesirable. Need more "matte".

This nail polish gives a low-gloss coat that looks like a very healthy, natural nail. I'd recommend it!
Better applied by a pro

I bought a bottle after reading reviews. When I tried to use it I just did a lousy job and it was too obvious for my tastes. Even when I had my wife apply it I was too self conscious about having it on my finger tips. I stopped using it. Then after a recent manicure I was asked if I wanted to try it - I let them apply it and it looks much better. Basically you can't really see it - the nails just look nicely buffed and clean. Fron now on I'll let a professional apply it.
finish too matte (even for a guy) peels too easily

I have used Nail Defense which I think is a pretty good product although maybe a bit glossy, especially for a guy.
I was disappointed that it seems to chip and peel so quickly. I found it to last only a day or so. I work in an office and don't exactly do a lot of outdoor activities where you wouldn't expect it to hold up well, anyway.
So I think I will go back to using a couple lite coats of Nail Defense (the gloss wears down after a couple days anyway). Until they can develop a product for guys maybe in matte and semi-gloss that's more durable I would as a guy just stick with a buffer and cuticle oil or use the Nail Defense.
Product perfect even for a Marine!

My husband (a USMC career man of 23 years) finally gave in to having a maicure at the local salon I work at here in Japan. He was skeptical when the nail tech was about to polish his nails and I told him that the Orly for Men was definitely within regs, so he said to the tech to only paint one finger and let him dedide...was pleasantly surprised and painted the rest! My significant other has since stopped biting his nails and has scheduled weekly manicures for the next two months...now only if I could have gotten him to listen sooner..oh well, now I have to get him to try the pedicure spa! After 26 years the nagging never stops!
