I used a converter once with this flat iron and i think something blew up inside.When I plug it in, it gets on but shows EROR on digital screen,and does not heat up at all.I dont know what I should do.Any suggestions????Please i need help.

Do I need a voltage converter?
The web page says I need a voltage converter (not just a plug adapter) when using this flat iron in Europe. Is this true? Voltage converters are quite heavy for their size but I don't mind packing one if it means my hair's going to look great. Please advise - I'm leaving for London in 10 days and don't want to blow up my Metropolis iron because I didn't use a converter.

HOW DO THE PLATES RETRACT? DO YOU HAVE TO PULL THEM OUT MANUALLY OR IS THERE A BOTTON YOU PUSH?
