I bought this straightener after using numerous Chis in the past. I have thickish, wavy, frizzy hair thats not too hard to straighten, but I didn't want to damage it so I bought this one. It worked relaly well! Heated up quickly, did the job -- I could straighten my hair in 5-10 minutes! Problem was that I dropped it ONCE and the thing broke! Part of the plastic casing broke off so one of the irons was coming out. It still worked but obviously split my hair etc. (I had had it for 2 months) I finally went to go get it replaced with the 10-year warranty and THEY WOULDNT COVER IT. I've talked to a numerous people who have had this iron and they've had the same problem! Whether or not you take good care of the product, accidents do happen and straighteners genearlly will fall off a counter every once and awhile. (I dropped my Chis far more often and they usually lasted me a little over a year, which was far better value). I have emailed Metropolis to complain and they won't respond so basically, if you foresee ANY seemingly little accidents with your hair straightener, don't buy it. It's not worth 250 for a few months of use.

this thing took waist length healthy hair and fried it !!! i've lost count i have soo many split ends!!!!!!!!!! Think I will try a Sedu iron ?

I HAVE HAIR TO MY WAIST AND IT WAS HEALTHY NO SPLIT ENDS ,THATS WHEN I USED A RUSK IRON WHICH THIS SITE DOESN'T SELL,BUT NOW I HAVE DAMAGE YEAH I HAVE SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY SPLIT ENDS I HATE THE DAY I SPENT MY MONEY ON THIS!!! This is the best iron you could find it straightened my hair in half the time my old irons did. i have very frizzy and puffy hair. but this iron is the best!!!!!!!!!!!

This iron is way too sensitive for my liking and even while taking really good care of it, it has broken on me three times. It does a decent job of straightening my hair though its definitely not worth the money especially with all the hassle its put me through. I'm very disappointed in this product and the fact that I bought a piece of garbage.

I used this iron for about 3 months. For the first month it was amazing and completely smooth and then by the second month my hair was getting brittle and dry. It was like I was using a metal pannel hot tools iron only paying like $200 more for it. Anyhow, to make a long story short it destroyed my hair and took about 6 months to get it healthy again. I have a HAI now and it's the best I've ever had.
Save yourself time and money, do not buy this.
I don't know about the others but this is a bad purchase.

This is without doubt the best flat iron on the market. It is the only one that glides smoothly through(like butter!) without snagging the hair. I've nticed that with other brands the plates dont seem to align up correctly but with this one they do. It is a shame that Ulta discontinued selling this brand because there isn't any other flat iron out there I would ever use. Once you use this model you can never go back to any other - it is just that good!

I have owned several brands of flat irons, and I am pretty disappointed in this one. I have heard so much hype about how great negative ions are for hair, but I truly think that this damaged my hair further. Also, it only does a decent job of straightening, and it seems to take longer to get a result that is just okay. I have used CHI, Sedu, and Bio Ionic, and I feel this ranks at the bottom of the pack. On the positive side, it heats up in no time, but that isn't enough to make me like it. FYI - I have long, fine, color treated and highlighted hair that was healthy until I started using this iron.

I too also have this Flat Iron and really like it, however the digital display did go out after a while and then the plates came out. They were still connected to the wires but I ended up having to send it back to the Manufacturer for a replacement (since it has a nice long 10 year warranty).

I have lots of fine curly hair and this iron does a great job taming the frizzy mess into silky straight hair. I also highlight my hair and I love that it straightens without damage. I like the idea of a 10 year warranty as well. I've had mine for 2 years and so far no problems.

I have owned both a ceramix flat iron and the Solia flat iron, and both of them lasted me less than a year. I went to a local store here in my area, and purchased the Metropolis. The one thing that I love is that it heats up in like 10 seconds. The best thing about it, is that it has a 10 year warranty, if something happens to it, I bring it back to the store I got it from, and they give me a new one no questions asked.
I have really wavy hair, and it works wonders, way better than the solia in my opinion, and it doesn't snag at your hair. I may have paid $250 for it, but it's better than paying $150 every year for the next 10 years...so in the long run I saved.

It works great. I love that it has a digital display.
The only bad thing is that the numbers on the display start to not show up after a while. Then it will start shutting itself off randomly. Then one day it just won't work anymore. I have had two do the same exact thing after about a year.

This Iron is so much better then the CHI that only works for a few months and they won't take it back if it breaks ( and also this one has a 10 year warr. Heats up in seconds and works better. SIGN ME UP !

I work in a store where we sell this iron. It works very well and heats up in seconds! We sell out of them immediately. they are a fantastic price for such a great iron. They are not damaging and keep any hair type silky and shiny. I also love the fact that it has a ten year warranty. Unlike the chi piece of crap, it wont bust after a few months. Buy one, i promise you will enjoy many many years of sexy straight fabulous hair!
