My daughters are both bi-racial. I have been dealing with their fluffy, frizzy, tangled mops for 10 years. It has always been an ordeal combing through their hair, with tears and tantrums to avoid the whole process.
Now that we have maxiglide, they are eager to get their hair done. Not only is there no more tears, but their hair is unbelievably beautiful when we finish. Their hair is feathery soft and shiny and they can run a brush or comb through their own hair without tangles and pulling out wads of hair.
The maxiglide is truly an amazing product. It is a little time consuming because you can't glide through the hair quickly, you want to take it slow so when you get to the ends you don't rip any hair out. It's advised to use small sections of hair, which is true. However, the time consuming part of the process is well worth the end result. My daughters love their hair now instead of loathing it. Awesome product, I would buy it again and again.
What a waste of money!

My husband got the Maxiglide for my mothers day gift. I was so excited. But when I went to use it I could not believe how terrible if was!!! My hair is very healthy. But when I used the Maxiglide it would break off tons of my hair. I would not recommend this to anyone!
Finally, a straightener that works on curly hair!

This is the first straightener that has ever worked on my hair. Previously, straightening my hair was a two day process that involved a real iron! I am very happy with the Maxiglide and would recommend it to anyone with curly, frizzy hair.
LOVE IT

I have fine hair with a slight wave and I've never found a better product. I find that most straightener's leave my hair somewhat frizzy on the ends and it's never "hollywood" straight (I've used endless straightener's that ranged from cheap to super expensive) and I can honestly say it's the BEST product I've ever purchased (the extra products really do help so PURCHASE them, the sirums).
It is a bit heavy so if you have VERY thick or curly hair it may take awhile to finish your whole head & your arms may get tired.
Watch the DVD and make sure that you follow the instruction so that you don't burn yourself with the steam (BEST PART of the produt).
I may buy one for my sister as her birthday present as she has similar hair to mine but a bit thicker (I have fine hair but a LOT of it, she has thicker hair but not a TON of it like me & both of us have a wave).
Great For all hair

This is the best hair straightener I have owned. It takes a few days to get used to but once you do it's amazing. I have received multiple comments that my hair looks fantastic since I bought it. Even my hairdresser (a top notch salon in Boston) commented that the new "straight" look was fantastic. The product is easy to use, heats up quickly and does not leave indents in the hair as other straighteners and irons can sometimes do. I have very fine hair and this product works so well on it. I highly recommend it in conjunction with a protective hair product such as Simply Straight. The only drawback is it is so heavy in weight.
THE BEST THING EVER!!

Well, let me just tell you about my hair........I have long THICK natural tight curly hair...Straightening my hair is a nightmare and takes HOURS (anywhere from 4-6 hours)!!! And I could never do it myself cause everytime I did, it was like a huge lions mane, frizzy and all over.
So I did a lot of research and watched the informercial about a million times, so I decided to get it..........HOLY COW, it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only did it straighten my hair it took no more than 45 mins AND I did it all by myself....I was pratically in tears...I could not believe how wonderful this product worked....I soo recommend it. Just section the hair in the middle and start from the back and work your way around and up and it works!!! THANK YOU MAXI GLIDE FOR MAKING MY LIFE SOO MUCH EASIER..hehe
It works....trust me, it works!!!

I got the Maxiglide and to be honest it hasn't shaved too much time off of straightening my hair. What it DOES do is get the areas near the scalp that if you blow dry at the wrong angle leave a weird wave and leaves my hair nice and shiny...until the ends. I won't attribute it specifically to this product but for my hair, nothing smooths it out like a round brush and a hot blowdryer. With the Maxiglide, even if you steamed the crap out of them, the ends still looked frizzy and not as polished as the rest of the hair. I still recommend it as it has saved me a LOT of money on hair salons (until, of course, we FINALLY get a Dominican unisex in Pittsburgh).
Just got one 2 days ago...

What's up with the cord?

This is a good product. Alittle heavy, but it does a good job straightening my hair. The cord , however, is the worst! It kinks up and I spend more time than needed wrestling with it!!! PLEASE correct this frustrating feature!!!

This is all hype. The maxiglide is VERY heavy and you get tired after using it a few minutes. It is bulky and difficult to use. It leaks water. It lasted a little over a year then started leaking brown fluid everywhere and wouldn't heat up. It straightens ok, but doesn't last an entire day. For the money, you can get a better iron. Good luck!

Well it does straighten your hair but lets say you rate really kinky hair to be a 10 then mine is probably a 5 so the commercial makes you think it should straighten it easy. Well lets just say I bought a no name flat iron from a beauty convention from a guy just trying to sell his as a new and improved one for 100 dollars and it works just as well if not better then this one. If you will have to pay more then 40 dollars go and invest in the chi or buy one from the drugs store you'll be happier.
I did use it on my daughters hair and she ranks at a 8 on the kinky scale and all it did was straighten it for about 10 minutes then it started to wave. I put in many different african american products to see if I could get my moneys worth but no luck.
The only positive I can say about it is that it gave my daughter a great flip.Buy the way i only paid 39 dollars and I am dissappointed
I love the Maxiglide

I now own 2! I had one and I couldn't find it (because I bring it back and forth everywhere I go) so I ordered another it works amazing. I have very thick, curly, coarse, fried, frizzy, dry, highlighted blonde hair. I am Italian, so I have a LOT of hair... IT WORKS AMAZING...THE COMBS GRAB EACH HAIR AND THE STEAM MAKES IT SO IT GETS STRAIGHT QUICK! BUY ONE IF YOU HAVE REALLY THICK HAIR
Amazing....

At first I was sceptical about getting this straightener because of some reviews, But now that I got it I love it. It usually takes me like 2 hours to straighten my hair. With the Maxi Glide it takes me less than a hour. It makes my hair straight in less time and it feels and looks soo good. One thing is that my hair did poof a little.. but my hair always does, but I put in some hair syrum and its good to go. This really does work. I think peoples results differ depending on there hair. Mine is really thick and curly, and this did wonders 4 me!!
