This is an amazing hair straightner. I have tried many different straightners in the past, but this one really does work! I think the steam burst that comes out is a main difference between other ones and it really makes my hair smooth and straight but not frizzy. I can let my hair air dry naturally and it takes the curls right out (I have pretty curly hair naturally) GReat product!!!
loved it

My girls have been using the Maxiglide since Christmas. They love it. It's true that it straightens your hair in no time. I suggest everyone get one for themselves. Nice Product!

I purchased the Maxiglide, viewed the video.
I tried numerous times on my hair and I was very disappointed. My hair is not real thick, it is average. Still left my wavy. I found the cheap one I purchased from Walmart works better.
breathtaking hair

I am an african-american female with natural, brillo, sheep-wool shoulder length hair. I haven't had any chemicals in my hair for 6 years. After wearing a fro and then cornrows for all those years, I felt bored and longed for a change. I wanted my hair straight without the chemicals and didn't want to hot-comb with a metal comb heated on the stove. I had that done 30 years ago and I didn't want my ear tops or the back of my neck burnt anymore. I never saw the infomercial for maxiglide. I just search-engined for a hair straightener and came across maxiglide. After spending hours reading the reviews, I decided to spend the $79 and go the Linen&Things to buy one on December 2005. I figured if I didn't like it, I had the reciept to return it. I played the included intructional DVD 2-3 times to make sure I understood how to use it. I have NEVER flat ironed before and I felt awkward with it at first but soon got the hang of it. My nappy, kinky hair was VERY straight and soft with the steamer, it really looked like chemically relaxed hair. I untangled my hair well after washing/conditioning it and let it air dry while braided and put on a heat protectant and when I was done, my mouth was wide open on how nice my hair looked. There was no burnt hair smell, plus it was at my shoulder blades in length, its never been that long in my life! I was afraid that when I was cooking the humidity would revert it but it didn't! I wash my hair and use the maxiglide once a week on setting 4 and I must say I am VERY pleased with it. When my hair is washed, of course it reverts back to its natural state, which is what I want for diversity of hairstyles depending on my mood. I wished it was around 35 years ago. I just might buy another one just to have. I must admit from my personal experience, this maxiglide truly does work folks.
a little big but great

Great to keep moisture in hair while straightening. Also great for really curly hair as little teeth keeps hair straight as your pulling iron through hair.
I love it!

I love my Maxiglide! of course I didn't believe it when i seen it on tv. I think it's all lies just to get you to buy the products. I'm glad I believed in this one! It cut my straightening time in half and the results are much better than a regular straightener. On my regular straightener I used to use the highest heat setting, on Maxiglide I use setting 5. I hate my curly hair, Maxiglide makes me much happier with my hair.
could be better

I have the kinkiest, curliest hair and the Maxiglide straightens it without any trouble. I have tried alot of things in the past and this is the first product that did not fry my hair.

I just got the Maxiglide a few days ago as a gift and I must say I was reluctant to use it because of how big it was. I realized that eventually I would have to use it or send it back, so instead I washed my hair with a very good salon brand shampoo and conditioner, air dryed it and waited for the next day to let the natural oils through note:( my hair is less dry when I wait a day) and sectioned my hair in 4 parts....after that it was very easy to menuver atleast for me it was. My hair is long(midback)and ,super curly so usually a good ceramic iron would take me about 45 mins-1 hr. getting every last crimp out but with this maxiglide it only took me 24-30mins crimps and all gone. My hair feels very silky, smooth.
Cons:
*The plate with the pins tends to cling and pull my hair brushed or combed it doesn't matter I guess that plate wasn't for my type of hair, but the flat plate worked very well for my hair it ironed out my hair very straight.
*The blue light indicator is very blinding
*The framing of the iron is some what bulky but It still did a job well done.
Pros:
*Easy to use,
*Options of two ironing plates instead of 1 which is good on my part because if it didn't have that option I would have hauled that thing off days ago those pins tend to hurt.
*The steam burst effect works nicely I used it for my flair areas and it eliminated them also making my hair soft and shiny.
*It doesn't smell/smoke/fry/like other irons do.
Love it!

Like everything it is not perfect. I use it once a week. I have not been back to my hairdresser on a regular basis since I brought the MaxiGlide. It does burn--unless I am doing something wrong. You must make sure you comb through your hair before using the iron or it will get stuck or pull. I just read the tip about not pressing down on the iron--something I can't help doing because of the texture. I have told people I meet on the street and everyone I know. I do love it.

My neices begged me to get them a Maxi Glide for Christmas.
They almost exploded to see them under the Christmas Tree.
They have very long curly hair, and thanks to Maxi glide they now have straight managable hair. I had to give everyone the information so they could order themselves
a maxi glide.
I **love** my Maxi Glide!!!

I have frizzy (not even cute curly, just plain ole frizzy icky) hair. I was using regular flat irons and my hair was bone dry at the ends and unhealthy looking. I got a layered haircut and decided to try the Maxi Glide and I *LOVE* it. I never go anywhere without it. My friends all have commented on how great my hair looks lately.
The reason I didn't give it a 5: It *is* a little bulky to use (once you get used to it, it doesn't even bother you, though) and it DOES burn if you're not careful. The Steam button is a little too high, it needs to be a scoche nearer to the thumb.
All in all, though, with a little redesigning, this flatiron could be perfect. Buy it now, dont expect miracles, and you WILL not be disappointed. I consider this one of the best purchases I ever made. :)

This straightener is the best I've ever used. Besides the plate that has the pins on it because it tends to rip out my hair, but the other plate works great. Its fast and very convienient. I love it! It works great even with out the steam, and I only use it on half the power. I've only had it for a few months but so far I would recommend it to anyone.

I am an african american female with really thick natural curly hair. I bought the maxiglide because I saw the infomercial about it. I should have saved my money because the maxiglide is overrated. it made my hair soft and it looks good for about an hour before the humidity kills it...then it just looks dried out and frizzy. It works no better than a cheaper straightener

I bought maxi glide in Dec 05' and I love it!!! I have medium length, very curly, corse hair and I really didn't want to spend too much on the Sedu so my sister (who is a hair stylist and used to flat iron my hair professionally before I moved far away) suggested I that I get the Maxi first and try it and if I didn't like it, return it and get the Sedu. I did the basic wash, condition and blow dry then I took each section piece by piece I could NOT believe how straight my hair was!!! If you have thick, corse hair this is the best being that it's as if there is a hot comb/flat iron mixed in one! It takes EVERY strand and gets it BONE straight!!! I wrapped it and the next day at work people kept asking me, "wow you got your hair done!" being that I ALWAYS wear my hair in it's natural state in a ponytail and I answered, "no, i did it myself!" all I got in return were GASPS!!! and OH MY god!!!!!!! NO KIDDING!!!!!! it was straight, soft and beautiful...
