The hair straightner is the best product. I have naturally curly hair and it makes it straight and it isn't frizzy at all. So if you want straight hair I highly recammend this product.
Damaged hair frizz...gone!

Normally I am one to read reviews, not write them. However, I had to put in my 2 cents about the Maxiglide. WONDERFUL! I have damaged frizzy hair due to too many highlights. Even with really good product, my hair would dry frizzy whether dried naturally or with a hair drier on any setting. I went through many flat irons but with the combing and straightening, the split ends got worse. This is not the case with the Maxiglide! The pins on the plates do not tug on my hair and I don't have to squeeze the Maxiglide very tight at all. My hair really does glide through! My hair is still damaged...only good protein treatments and trims will stop that...however, using the Maxiglide makes my hair look really good in between trips to the salon! Thank you for such a wonderful product!

The service was fantastic, I am enjoying the tool and using it frequently. The only concern I have is the metal (as opposed to ceramic) plates but they haven't been a problem so far.

I bought this product for my 21 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it! It glides through her very thick hair with such ease. Her hair has never looked better. I recommend this to any one who truly wants her hair straight. It's AWESOME!

I had purchased flat irons before, but nothing worked. My hair is super curly and not very managable. Maxiglide is great it works wonders on my hair. I used to go the beauty shop once a week or once every two weeks to get my hair straightened, but now I do it at home. THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!
It Works For Me! It Was Worth The $80!

Like so many people, I was hestitant about paying almost $80-90 on a flat iron (especially one from an infomercial). However, I have the worst "frizzy, nappy, and unruly" hair. I was desparate, so I purchased one here at Folica.com. I received it less than a week, washed and "air-dried" my hair and proceeded with the Maxi-glide. It was a little tricky to use, it was hard for me at first to not "squeeze" the iron, but once I got used to it, the Maxi-glide transformed my hair from "Black and Nappy" to "Black and Beautiful"! I have to admit, the Maxi-glide is not perfect, but I love it enough to keep on using it. It worked for me, the problem is that it may not work for everyone. :)

i am kind of tired of people on here talking about how the maxiglide doesn't straighten theur hair. And the people who are saying it are either white or hispanic or even hawain. Yeah I have seen some people of those races have frizzy and thick hair. But there hair can't compare to a black female who doesn't get a relaxer/perm. We have the most coarse, thick , unmanagable hair. Why do you think most black girls get perms.I haven't had one in 4 yrs. I have the most coarse and kinky hair texture there is and the maxiglide works on my hair. The maxiglide does work better when you use beyond straight and the end. It used to take me 2 hrs with other flat irons and they also fried my hair and my ends were split. Of course your hair won't look right if the setting is too high. I put mine on 7-8 and my hair looks beautiful. Follow the instructions carefully and it will work right. And if you don't like the pins in the flat iron switch the plates. That is what is there for! Some hair types probably doesn't even need the pins.Although it does break easily.(hopefully maxius can fix that). I will jus put it this way if a african american women can straighten her hair with it. every women with every other hair texture can flat iron there hair with the maxiglide. That is my opinion.
burnt out

i had the maxi glide for a little under a year and it burnt out. it worked nicely for, i'd say, about six months before it started making my hair frizzy and drying it out. i've definatly had better results, even with a less expensive straightener. it didn't make my hair shiny or less damaged as promised, it was just straight, which is fine, but i've used better.
EXCELLENT PRODUCT

Maxi Glide is truly an amazing product!!! I have extremely frizzy hair. I couldn't believe within seconds my hair was straight, shiny, and full of body. It was easy to use! Unlike other straighteners I've used, one glide was all it took to achieve the perfect look. The style even with held during humid weather!! I was so impressed with the results of Maxi Glider I had to spread the good news to my family whom may I add share the same texture hair that I have. As a result, this is my third purchase!! THANKS MAXI GLIDE!!!!!!!!!

I bought this product for my daughter's birthday and we both use it. We no longer have to spend $50 a week to get our hair done. It takes me about half an hour to do each head of hair. The secret is to use the steam for healthier shiny hair.
Best product for natural thick hair

This works great on my natural hair. I am half black, half arab and my hair is beautifully thick and full. It's like pressing your hair. No need to blow dry first. Go from curly to straight in less time than doing both blow dry, press, flat iron. I suggest buying the Maxiglide hair products (silicon drops plus pre-heating lotion). Also great for flat ironing in between if needed. It does curls too.
What a great product!

I received this item very quickly, great customer service! And it works wonderfully, but my daughter's hair does get tangled in the teeth that are on the hot plate. otherwise, works well and gets super hot!

This is a must have product if you have naturally curly hair. I was paying $30.00 each time I wanted my hair blowed dried straight. I would have to spend about 1 hour each time. Now I have beautiful straight hair in less than 15 minutes.
worth it

this straightner is so worth what you pay for. i have really curly, frizzy hair and when i went to straightn it, it worked the 1st stroke! my hair was TOO straight!! no joke...my mom said it smelt like burnt hair (mostly why four stars) The steam i thought was burning my hair and i had it on setting on 1. so its soooo what you pay for and im real happy to use it. just not the steam ...cause it burns your hair!(i dont want mine to fall out)
it did everything expected...its just didn't last

wow! i used to watch the commercials and long for this product, so that my hair cud be "stick straight in less than eight," but it definately wasn't that and i should've known...It was a so-so iron...maybe it works for girls with soft, curly hair, but my hair is coarse, thick and curly. When I first used it...I was amazed at how straight, soft and voluminous it was and I was so happy that I bought it, but an hour later, my hair was just a ball of unnecessary fuzz....I looked like a chia pet!...I was so dissappointed that I spent so much money. This review isn't to knock the product tho cuz I do other people's hair all the time and for most people, it does work and it looks great, but the product just wasn't for me...don get this product if you have coarse or curly hair...it'll jus look like a big mess later.
great product...but doesn't last long....

I bought this product and loved it for the first month or two!!! Then the little blue lite kept blinking and wouldn't heat up the way it was supposed to.......I've read the other reviews and it seems like a couple others have this problem too.....I only used the product a couple times a month and it did this so i wasn't one to use it everyday and it still broke...
horrible.

After watching the hour long infomercial, and being completely mesmerized by the models' pin straight hair, I purchased the way over priced 120$ MaxiGlide in August. Bad idea. This worked no better than my 30$ hot tools brand straightener. I was extremely dissapointed. The thirty day period ran out before realized I had to send this piece of junk back, so I have been stuck with my MaxiJUNK; 120 dollars down the drain. NOT ONLY did the MaxiGlide not live up to its quick, minimal frizz, breakage defense, straight hair, BUT JUST YESTERDAY, IT BROKE. The steam part hadn't worked since the first week, but that didn't help the process at all anyway so I just let it go. But yesterday; the little blue light that indicates it's ready for use, WOULDNT STOP BLINKING. Ok ok, the real deal though, one entire side wouldnt heat up!!!!!!!!!! ONe side has a comb, one is a plate. The important one with all the heat, the plate, with not heat up AT ALL. I could go on forever about what a piece of junk this is, but I'm off to read reviews on the solia, my next potential straightener! [SINCE MY MAXIGLIDE BROKE.] DON'T BUY THIS! SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!
very good!

after months on debating weather i should order the maxi glide. i finally did. i have real puffy frizzy wavy hair and it worked great! the only thing is its a little heavy and gets ur wrists tired. i have real bad split ends so i use the plane plate not the plate with the combs on it because it leaves my ends looking more fried that usual. but it leaves your hair pin straight.. its worth it!
Not What I Expected

I thought this iron was going to be the answer to my prayers. Instead I found this iron to be too heavy and bulky. It snagged my hair and made my ends dry and frizzy. It didn't even straighten my hair all that great. I would have to go over it sometimes with another flat iron just to get my ends less fuzzy and to get closer to my scalp. Now, it won't even heat up anymore after having it for only a few months. What a waste. My advice is to save your money on this iron, it's not worth it
