Great product that works if you know what your doing

I love the maxiglide. I have been using it for about 1 year and like others, I swear by this product. However, to those ladies if did not like it or have success, it is because they didn't know what they were doing. Some comments were obvious that this NJ lady did not view the CD for proper handling and instructions for use. As the product says, it is a flat bed not a curling iron. So adjust your way of thinking and I believe satisfaction will be knocking at your door.

Good while it lasted...

Well, the Maxiglide was good while it lasted. It does what it says, straightens it in very little time (before maxiglide an hour and a half, with maxiglide about 30-40 mins), I have thick curly hair by the way, steamburst technology did wonders on my dry ends, took only a few passes for me, etc. However, those detangling pins can give you a heart attack. At times, it literally sounded and felt like strands of hair were being split in half. I honestly enjoyed this iron for that the time that it did work. It was quick and it worked. The on/off switch doesn't work, when it finally catches the plates don't heat up, and the blue light can blink for eternity with no result. So, here I am TWO months later, ironless. Maxius is willing to replace the item but i'd much rather not have to go through this every 2 months. Not to mention that they want me to send my personal information on a site that isn't secured. Would I tell a friend to use this? Only if they feel like having to go through the hassel of replacing the iron every few months. Save the 89.00 and buy the other highly rated irons on this site.
THE BEST FLAT IRON EVER....

I HAD USED CERAMIC AND OTHER FLAT IRONS, AND IT OFTEN LEFT MY HAIR DULL,STIFF, OR VERY FRIED LOOKING, AND NEVER EVER AS STRAIGHT AS I WANTED, BUT THEN I FOUND MAXI-GLIDE, WHEN MY SISTER-N-LAW DID MY HAIR. SHE TOLD ME SHE HAD SEEN IT ON TV AND BOUGHT IT. THIS IRON MAKES MY HAIR LOOK VERY POLISHED, SILKY, NOT OVER BURNED, DULL AND I DON NOT NEED TO PUT ALL KINDS OF SERUMS OR GELS TO GET IT TO LOOK GOOD.. I LOVE IT, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I HAVE HIGHLIGHTS AND THAT ALWAYS BURNS OFF YOUR HAIR, SO THIS IS GREAT, ITS WORTH THE MONEY.

I have spent hundreds of dollars and tons of years on hair
products, blow driers & trips to the salon for blow outs &
this product is amazing. Yes, I can see how if used too
often it can damage your hair, but I only use it every
4 days. My hair stays looking great after that. I have
very curly frizzy hair. I also use their products & 3 of
my frinds now are buying it.
amazing!!!best yet!

My daughters love the Maxiglide. This is the second one that we have purchased (the first one broke when my daughter got crazy and smashed it under a piece of furniture). Regular flat irons were literally burning her hair shorter and shorter so we looked online and found the Maxiglide and we purchased one immediately. The whole purchasing process is very smooth and fast and I would recommend this item wholeheartedly.

I love the maxi-glide. I am an African-American with seriously bad, dry, thick, and course hair. It is the only product that I ever bought from an infomercial that actually works. I was skeptical like so many becasue it seemed too good to be true. But once I received mine and started using it (after careful reading and following the instructions), The Maxi-glide transformed my hair. I am saving so much money on this thing. I no longer have to pay over $125/month at a salon and the best thing is, is that I only paid less than $80 for it. Hallelujah, thank you God for the Maxi-Glide!

One of my clients had me use her maxiglide on her hair yesterday, this is what I think after many years of using different flat irons: you have to make sure you get very small pieces of hair so that it straightens corretly, I thought it straightened very well without having to blow dry with a brush first, it also did leave the hair silky straight but here's my problem: if you use this flat iron on a regular basis your hair is going to eventually look like crap, because it really brakes your hair off, those tiny little bumps on the iron (the combs) will and do break your hair, they have to comb and seperate mostly every single hair strand and that is why hair breaks , hair is too weak to withstand so much pressure, pulling and heat, all at the same time, especially if you have dry curly hair.
Nothing else has worked for my teen

Just wanted you to know that I have spent hundreds of dollars to try to appease my teenage daughter who has very thick kinky curly stawberry blonde hair. The kind most people would spend hundreds of dollars to get not get rid of!
Besides having her hair chemically straightened we have used a number of different irons for daily touchups. Your maxiglide is the only one so far that she can use herself and gets great results from! She loves the comb option attached to the iron.

This is the miracle product I've been looking for. I'm of Haitian-American descent and stopped relaxing my hair about 4 years ago- Even though I love my curls, I wanted that straight look once in a blue moon- Blowdrying did not cut it, especially in the South Florida humid weather. I was shocked when I first tried to Maxiglide. My hair was straight with only one glide. I made sure to part my hair small enough so that the result were right the first time. The results are like hot-combing, with less hassle. Buy it, it works!Everyone has commented on my new look. Excellent!

It use to take me 45 minutes to straighten my hair with a brush and blow dryer, and now it takes me about 10 minutes. I purchased another one just in case this one brakes ...who knows if I will ever be able to find this again.

I think the product works better than expect but my hair is dry naturally and if you let your hair get too dry after shampooing/conditioning, it will break and shed b/c the tiny combs are pulling through the hair.
My sister's hair is a bit silkier naturally and it wasn't breaking her hair as much. However she had a different problem. Its kinda like trying to curl your hair twice. After the straightening, it wouldn't hold a curl! The MaxiGlide purports to curl the hair itself but it doesn't do more than "bump" the ends.
Too bulky - detangling pins don't work
Reviewer:
Karen
from NJ Mon Mar 06 2006
This product is very heavy and bulky. I thought that the time it would take to straigten my hair would decrease because of the large plates. It actually took me longer to straighten my hair because of the awkward design and bulkiness. The first time I tried to use this product, I was excited about the "detangling pins". I have curly/wavy hair. My hair is not thick and not kinky, BUT I could not get the detangling pins through my hair. I was not even able to straighten one section with these detangling pins. I could not change the plates because the iron was too hot, so I used my other straightener. The next day, I switched the plates and tried again. This time, it worked better, but I was not impressed. I could not get the root of my hair. The "steam burst system" only worked when it was too close to my head (which hurts) and when I was near the tips of my hair, there was still water left in it, but it did not work. Well, now I am in the process of returning this item. Folica has a wonderful return policy, so I am exchanging this horrible product for a Solia straightener. My sister has a Solia and it is the best straightener I have used thus far. Do not waste your money on a maxiglide. This product is not worth more than $20.

I was inlove with this straightener for the longest time. My hair looked so, so pretty after I had used this. So much better than my previous straightener. After a few months though, the ceramic coating comes off and you notice alot more breakage. My hair gets caught between the plates all the time. The products from Maxiglide still work wonders, but I'm seriously considering buying another straightener.

The MaxiGlide is a great product! My hair is coarse and curly and it totally straightens it out and it feels really silky.
My only complaint is that it is TOO HEAVY! I try not to use it too often because of that. My right hand and thumb really get sore after I use it.

I used the maxiglide and noticed that it does straighten my hair better than any flat iron I've ever used. My hair also felt very shiny and soft afterwards. One thing that I don't too much care for is the plate with the combs on it. It seems to pull my hair out. I'm still trying to figure out a way for this not to happen. So for that, I think the product is a little above average.
