I bought this product for my 7 year old bi racial daughter who was upset that she couldn't wear her hair down because her hair is so curly and frizzy. She even had her hair hair straightened the old fashioned way with a hot comb on the stove and her hair frizzed up within a day. I used the maxi glide on her and within a half hour she had beautifully straight hair. The next morning alls I had to do was give her a quick touch up. I strongly recommend this product.
Good, but I don't like the plate w/ the combs

The very first time I used the Maxiglide, I used it on a setting of 3. It worked nicely and was very straight. But, it still wasn't very soft or shiny when I finished. However, every time I used it after that, my hair seemed fuzzy and was dry and hard to brush through. I tried increasing the temp setting, but the result was the same: straight fuzz. I even started adding a serum to my hair before using the iron and nothing helped.
Well, tonight I replaced the comb plate w/ the flat plate and set it to #8 on the temp. It made a HUGE difference. My hair turned out soft and shiny for the first time. I'll con't to use it this way for the next few wks and see if it con't to give me these results. If so, then I'll be much more pleased.
So, basically, I like the straightener w/ the flat plate, NOT the comb plate.

My husband bought this for me for my birthday, He was up one nite late and had seen the commerical for it. This is the greatest product, I have the wildest frizzy curly at times hair and hard to manage. I tried it and I have never gotten my hair this straight before. It last a long time no frizz and hair looks great. Everyone asks if I had it chemically straightened and I just tell them about this product. Well worth the money, I will be buying another one if something ever happened to this one.
Good for my thick curly hair.

I'm a black woman with natural, thick and curly hair, and I have to admit I was a little skeptical. I have used flat irons and stove-irons to straighten my hair in the past. None of them have worked as well or as fast as the Maxiglide. I can straighten my hair in half the time and with no fear of being burned! I was pleasantly surprised at how straight and shiny my hair was. I also like the fact that I don't need to apply a lot of heat to my hair to straighten it. I think the small teeth on the bottom plate really help to make sure the hair is pulled straight. I would definitely recommend the Maxiglide.

when i first got the maxiglide,i was very excited to use it because i thought it would work really good. while i was using it, i had to struggle to pull the straightener through my hair. the little comb things on the srtaightener pulled my hair out! also it took much longer to do my hair then when i used my old straightnener. when i finally finished my hair, it was frizzy and i was not happy. you would think that since it was expensive it would be good, but thats when your wrong. i would not recomend people to buy maxi-glide.

I CANNOT STATE ENOUGH HOW WONDERFUL THIS FLAT IRON IS. I HAVE TRIED THE ALL AND NOTHING EVER WORKED. GOD BLESS THE PERSON WHO INVENTED THIS!!!! I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT!

I got my Maxiglide this week and absolutely love it! I've tried other straighteners and have had my hair chemically 'straightened' before but nothing ever worked like this does. Other flat irons left it with that 'curly hair straightened' look with the roots looking funny. This gets it ALL and it is so smooth and shiny and healthy looking! What takes getting used to is seeing yourself with totally straight hair! Honestly I didn't like the look of the straight hair just hanging there, so I used my curling iron after I straightened it and it looked beautiful! My daughter has the type of hair anyone would kill for....it has some natural curl but not a lot, if she wants to blow it straight she can, or leave it wavy or whatever but she loves to have it straight so I tried the Maxiglide on her's and it took a total of about 5 minutes to smooth it out straight, so if you have a little wave and want it straight, invest in this because it takes no time and leaves the hair so shiny and healthy-looking. It's great just to get rid of the 'frizz' and then style with the curling iron or even rollers to some body and big curls without the fuzzies. Ok, I'll stop now, guess I can't say enough about it....so if you're thinking about this product, just BUY IT!!!!!

I have naturally curly/frizzy/ethnic hair and started using the Maxiglide about a month ago. I was skeptical and read many reviews prior to buying this product. But I took a risk and was amazed with the instant results. It used to take me hours to blow-dry my hair straight. The best method used to be drying my hair with large rollers and styling it with a blow-dryer. Now I can go instantly straight without chemically processing or pulling my hair as I did for so many years. If you are skeptical you're not alone. But I promise you that this product will surprise even the pros. On the other hand, I don't recommend this product for someone with short hair. Shoulder length or longer will probably see the best results. It can get super hot, so make sure to try it at the level 5 first. I wish you much success.

this straightner was okay, i do not think its one of the best ones, but for people with not that frizzy hair it will work good but if you have frizzy or curly hair i wouldnt recommend that it will give you a sleek and perfect look i will admit this straightner at the beginning seemed to work kinda well but as time passed it seemed to be not as good but still even at the beginning it wasn't one of the best straighteners i have tried

It quickly heats up..is easy to use and leaves my hair looking shiny and straight. It's the best straightener I've used so far. I don't need to mess with my hair as often, so I'm not "frying" the ends like I used to with other straighteners.

It really works on curly,kinky, and difficult hair. I recomend it 100% I have saved a lot of money from sending my daughter to the salon to straighten her her. She does it by herself. She can look great all the time.

I'm ever so pleased that it doesn all that you exhibited it would but for my mixture of hair I did not need to go all the way up to ten. The only thing that bothers me about the product is the smell of burning hair. It took me back to when I was a young girl sitting in front of my mother as she would straighten all our heads for the school week to come. My hair is very fine and now it seems it's also very thin. I shall have to move back to a climate that is dryer so I won't have to keep straightening my hair!

This product is great. At first i was a little skeptical. I still purchased maxiglide hair straightener and i'm real glade i did. I have hair that is thick and frizzy and i have to say that its the best product out there for straightening hair. oh yeah and in half the time as the other products i used. Now I can't wait to show off how straight and smooth my hair can really feel. Thanks a lot maxiglide.

WOW! The Maxiglide is a terrific straightener. It only takes me about 15 minutes to fix my hair now instead of an hour. I am an African-American with thick,knotty hair. But not any more with the Maxiglide; Now it's soft and so shiny. My hair is usually dry and brittle but the steam burst moisturizes and adds sheen. My hair is so lustrious and I am proud of it. You have to buy it. I'm surprised that people say that the pins pull out their hair. Not me. You really don't have to squeeze it to make it glide through you hair. Just read directions and it will tell you! Wonderful Product. Buy it You won't be sorry!!!

I useto straighten my hair with a clothing iron it was the only thing working, every thing else eather made my hair poofy, or just burnt it.. but it took me a good half hour or so to do my hair, and i finally bought the maxiglide and it took me 15 minutes and my hair was perfectly straight from front to back i love it so much the inventor is a genious thank you soooo much i love it! dont hesitate to buy! it really works and im a freak about my hair
p.s. its about time somthing actually works!

I love it. I bought one for my mom. I'm buying one for my best friend. It's so easy. They all have curly hair and have no trouble using it. The price is worth every penny!!!

the first time iused it I never used my old one agean an this is the best if you have dry dameged hair. I have wavy and i try every thing and this is the bet i can stranten my hair in 10mims and it is so quick even with the steam burst it works even better.
