After a few months the steamer stopped working. Made my hair very dry and brush pulled it out. Also, chord tangles.
Not for professionals!

The maxiglide is ok if you have fine hair. But not if you have THICK hair. It takes longer, Do not use the comb side will tear your hair OUT! It doesn't last long at all. I've had it for about 6 months. It doesn't get hot any more. If you use a gloss on your hair it leaves a lot of GUNK. It is very heavy too!!!!!
It's to good to be true!

I did'nt have a second thought to buy it the first time I saw it on TV eventhough it was pricey..I even had too pay the extra express delivery, too excited to try the product. The very first time I tried it I was so dissapointed,it was nothing like they promised on TV.It takes toooo many times for you to do one small section of the hair to get it straight(and still turns out to be freezy)The plate with small combs gets your hair tangled all the time and the steam does'nt do any good either.By the time I was done,I was so frustrated..I thought I found the best product there is,but I was wrong..I gave it a second chance and after alot of practice on my hair ,I finally gave up and returned it.So i am still looking for the best product out there!

I am extremely happy with this iron. It is bigger than the ohter two I spent $150 on but after a day I got used to it and becuase it's bigger, it straightens more hair! I have just brown wavy hair that has to be blow dried and ironed so as to not look dry or frizzy. I can't STOP TOUCHING MY SOFT HAIR NOW. Yeah the steam button is a bit ackward but who cares, just get used to it! And I don't hold the plates together, I just have it glide gently through my hair, no hair comes out? You can't have tangles in your hair? But then you can't have tangles in your hair with the other irons either? Duh! I wash my hair at night and in the morning I use the Maxiglide. 10 minutes to do my hair in the morning. I hope this lasts a long time or at least a year, I'll be happy.....we'll see.
okay...but nothing too special

I recently bought this and thought that this would help smooth my dry ends and it did. It made my hair softer and shinier, less dryed out looking.i received compliments on it. But it almost gets it to straight and my do looked horrible. it took out all my volume at the roots so i had to pin it back. the comb plate also pulls a lot of your hair out. i have to use a good conditioner. it's an okay flat iron but if you have problems with your hair getting ripped out, don't use. so far though i relly like it!
It's okay.

This straightener works well, it's just too big and bulky, plus it takes TOO long to heat up!!!!!
PS; The steam that is supposed to 'hydrate the ends of your hair' only fry them more!
I DONT LIKE IT

Ok, so at first I thought it was great until it started pulling out my hair and thats not even the worst part! I was straightning my hair and started smelling something burning and my maxiglide was smoking! It had started to melt!! It was horrible!
BAD FOR YOUR HAIR

Customer Image 1:

I used the Maxiglide for about 8 months, and it was HORRIBLE! I give it 2 out of 5 because my hair is extremely damaged now! If you use the plate with the combs then you might as well just not use the straightener at all!! it will literally TEAR your hair apart! The steam option is HORRIBLE too as it dries out your hair even more. I have extremely bad split ends now. You also need to keep the iron plates clean otherwise they gunk up (only if you use product) and ruin the plates. if you use it long enough, the coating on the plate will also start cracking and peeling off, which is EXTREMELY bad for your hair!! Its huge, bulky and weighs a lot, so it isn't that easy to straighten bangs with. Im using a different straightener right now while i'm waiting for my Sedu so that I dont break my hair even more. it did however help me more than other straighteners to not only straighten my hair, but to get rid of my extreme volume. it takes a long time and the straight doesn't stay in either. it does an alright job BUT you have to know what you're doing to use this product right. DONT USE THE COMB PLATE AND DONT USE THE STEAM OPTION or you'll ruin your hair.
Works well

I found coming from a Chi this works great. The only flaw I have found is being I have long hair is this thing IS heavy. It does take me about 30 min to do my hair and my arm kills me. But I would really have to say it is worth the pain..

This hair straightener is the best ever. I use to hate doing my hair because it use to take to long and when I did my hair with the other "hair straighteners" I would walk outside and my hair would get poofy, like if I never even straightened my hair, but with Maxiglide it only takes me less than 30 mins. and my hair looks great and when I go outside my hair stays beautiful. I LOVE IT!!!
ummm its ok..not bad but a few things that r inconvienient

when i first got the maxiglide i really liked it. It works well but it is very heavy. If you have thick coarse hair like me and it takes a good 20-25 min to straighten your arm will get tired! and also it kinda pulls my hair a bit but other than that it does do the job...i think i may try a sedu i heard they r the best
Best Hair Tool I have ever owned

I have natural curly, frizzy hair. I am 50 years old. My parents owned hair salon's and I can remember sitting under the hair dryer with my hair pinned down to try and control it.
I had it straigthened and it burnt my hair. I have done and owned all kinds of hair tools just trying to get normal hair.
Well I can honestly tell you that Maxiglide delivered what I have wanted for many many years ! Beautiful, straight, frizzfree hair. I love love love it. My daughter has normal hair and she uses it too and it makes her hair smoother and beautiful. It is well worth the money infact I paid over $125.00 for mine for I grabbed it a few years ago the minute I seen it. Can't go wrong with Maxiglide .

I think that anyone that has problems with the maxiglide is because they don't know how to use it i have thick long hair and it worked great for me i have a niece that has curlier hair and very course hair which i dont so one day just to see how good it was i straighten out her hair and it really worked i think the best feature are the detangling pins because it can pull your hair but that is why you should comb it out first anyone with a brain knows that so you should really buy this product it's really good. I have had it for over a year and i love i!!!!!!!
GREAT FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN

I am an African American woman and I usually wear my hair in my natural curly Afro but every now and then I like my hair straight. I have tried many flat irons and the only ones that really work are those which are known to damage your hair. My sister purchased the Maxiglide about 2 years ago and I have yet to find one that works better. I thought it was a little expensive, but trust me it's worth every cent.

Two of my bestfriends have this iron and the steam button is akward and it is difficult to use. the comb attatchment is terrible for your hair. any professional hair stylist will tell you that. On top of all this your hair dosent get very straight and it causes huge split ends, even with occasional use, 2 to 3 times a week. bad iron try a solia.

Just a regular straightener

I felt the steam button was a little inconvenient. It was pretty much a normal straightener. I thought it was through steam that it straightens. However, it is really through heat and if you pump the steam button, it adds a little steam with the heat.

I purchased this product and I have been completely satisfied with it. The only thing is that I've read the reviews of the other people who have purchased it and I hope it lasts for longer than a few months or even a year. If it does, this product is too great for words. If not, I would be very disappointed.
