I think that this is the best hair straightener I have ever used. The steam bursts straighten my hair and makes my hair very shiny. My hair is very manageable now.

This product is the only one that I have ever bought that has actually worked. It is amazing. My hair has never been so smoth and healthy looking.

I must say that this flat iron is the best. I am African-American & my children & myself have extremely curly hair. Not kinky.. just very very curly.. I used this curling iron on my 2 yr & 4 yr old & their hair went from curly to bone straight-- in one swipe.. I was able to put the flat iron close to the scalp as stated w/o burning the girls. The roots appeared to be pretty straight; not as straight as a relaxer but very close to it. If you are against chemicals... This is the tool to get.

Its awesome, very quick , let your hair really straight, but the only thing is that u can not carry around , its a little too heavy

I have bought the maxiglide nad it really worked for me.
The only problem I hade was that it broke after having it for only 4 months. I went and bought anotherone just because it did so well on my hair but that one broke also. It works great but it breaks to easy. i will never buy antoher one again.

I would just like to say thank you to who every developed the MaxiGlide. For those of us with extremely curly hair, and nappy at that. This is a blessing. I was a little aprehensive when I was first told about this product by the owner of the hair salon where my stylist works. I have had very naturally curly hair most all of my life, and have been like the millions of others with the same problem.... I WANT STRAIGHT HAIR> Free from frizz, having the humidity do it's wonderful thing. With the hair products I use and now with the Maxi Glide. My hair has never looked better. It has been so much fun getting to do some of the things I've always dreamed of doing with my hair. Thanks again, and God bless you :-)

This could not have worked better for me. You can't even feel it unless you don't get all your knots out!! Maxi Glide works great with dry hair because it has a steam part where you press a button for dry hair. The styling plate also works great!!
Works well! And quicker than a typical flat iron

I purchased this product after a friend told me how great it was. I have very wavy/curly and coarse hair. I was impressed at how FAST the Maxiglide straightened my hair! It works great. However, my hair is not as straight as using my Chi ceramic flat iron but it's faster and has some body to it which looks good. I prefer to do touchups with the Chi and overall straightening with this product. Also, I recommend using this when the hair is completely dry or my hair got very frizzy.

I purchased this for my daughter. It worked well for about 9 months....now only one side of the straighten gets hot. It was never used on a daily basis. Not worth the $100. I'll consider another brand and hope it's worth it.

Well, before i had this staightner, my life...and hair was a mess!! Once I got the maxiglide, it all straightened out. :) I love it. Buy it, it doesnt matter what people say...JUST BUY IT!!! <3

I've always hated my hair, but once I discovered the maxiglide product, I realized I could finally have great hair. The maxiglide not only straightens my hair, but it leaves my hair very soft and frizz free. I feel so much better about myself now. I can finally wear my hair down in public, and I don't have to worry about it becoming frizzy. I love my maxiglide!!!!!!!!!!

For all of you customers cutting down this product, you are not reading the directions correctly. Trust me, the maxiglide hair straigtener works very well. I would know becuause I have horrible naturally wavy, thick, and frizzy hair. However, by using the maxiglide product, my hair looks just like a celebrity's straight hairstyle. I've used the maxigilde product for about 5 months now, and not once has my hair looked unhealthy or damaged.

For starters...
I did not purchase The Maxiglide myself, it was a Christmas gift. I saw the late night rave over this product and being able to watch them use it in ethnic hair was the selling point for me.
The Good: The key advice in using ANY heating element in your hair (blow dryer, hot comb, curling iron, or flat comb) is protect your hair. My personal favorite recently used on me at a salon is Loreals, Mix it. It's a protectant against heat damage, repairs dead ends and a bunch of other benefits. They also used a product called It's a 10 leave in product but I have not been able to find it. That does 10 different things to your hair.
The Bad: In using any of these products with the Maxiglide you do get the build up of gunk. BUT it also came with care instructions on how to clean the plates. I took a toothbrush to it after each use.
I've spent alot of money to go to a salon and to get my hair professionally blown out. I had long, dry, frizzy, curly hair so I was still in a salon for a couple of hours. In also watching how they did my hair, they would sit me under a hair dryer with repair or treatment product then they blow dry and then last use a hot comb. I still either left with smooth, fine, limp hair with a flip and it would only last a couple of days.
Using the Maxiglide...
Good: It would last a couple of days longer than the salon, but then you've gotta ask yourself why did I spent 40.00-50.00 bucks-monthly?? To get it professionally blown out. When purchasing the Maxiglide, yes it was 100.00 bucks or so but it eliminated the trip to the salon.
Bad: You would have to obviously touch up at least every other day. Put a serum of some kind in it to protect against humidity, and flyaway.
Comsmetically:
The Maxiglide is very heavy and can be very tiring or umcomfortable to use. The cord does tangle...alot...and then you have to stop what your doing, let the iron at least cool off alittle 'cause it is very, very hot.
The steam button is in a odd place but can be managed. Warning: Be careful with the steam that comes out it's HOT, HOT, HOT!
The plate w/ the comb does break your hair even if you detangle it.
So at the end when you have covered all obstacles..you will have beautifully straight hair this is after considering the length & hair type it still took me about an hr. (Psss...I get my 12 yr old daughter to help me out) by myself I don't think I would be able to manage
The smell you will get with just about any heating tool but I think it should wash out (it took me a couple of washes) Buy yourself a citrus-shine so you get light fragrance as well as a nice shine.
Now...
Within the last week I cut off alot of my hair from Mid-Back length so alittle above shoulder length, a beautiful cut. I carefully watched how they did my hair, what they put in it. The got home and borrowed my sisters, CHI flat iron and get what..."HIGH REVIEWS" so guess what I am purchasing this week, a CHI or Solia- the cute pink one.
The CHI was light weight, easy to use, you get great pressed look w/ flips, curls, blunt straight, whatever..and it was easily achieved by myself. BUT my gosh hotter than the maxi-glide, I singed my fingerprint off "ouch"...
Well I hope this helped anyone!

I have very curly frizzy hair and have used all kinds of things before I found this. My hair is so straight and soft and will stay that way until I wash it; with the others my hair would frizz at the mention of moisture. If you follow the directions and comb through first it works great. It takes me ten minutes and I'm done. I love my hair!!

Maxiglide made my soft frizzy hair straight and shiny! I don't even have to put creams or moisturizers on my hair every day since using your product. I just use what I need for styling (gel) and curlers and it lasts until my next washing and re-staightening with the maxiglide wand.
