Horrible!!!

I tried using it and it looked like i went outside in hot weather and i stoped because it looked crazy. I have to look at expensive hair straightners because my hair is really curly and frizzy i would try GHD, or Chi, maybe Sudu.
would not recommend......

my hair is very thick, frizzy and curly (aren't i lucky? *&!$#* ). i would've put in a pic but u would need a widescreen to contain the poofiness & i don't know if ur computer can handle such distortion. ha ha. i tried the maxiglide because the infomercial, as they always do, made the product look like a miracle worker. much to my disappointment, but not surprise, the product did not keep my hair straight. it did work as it said it does--although it took more than 1 "Glide" to straighten, it did straighten my hair. only problem was after about an hour, my hair became poofy and you could see the curl breaking thru. so basically, i wasted about an hour of my time & once again got excited for nothing. another problem-the maxiglide is rather heavy which i wouldn't mind the wrist and forearm pain if it kept my hair straight. those of us wanting straight hair have been thru worse, right? bottomline--the maxiglide does straighten hair but only keeps it straight for about an hour or so. it's up to you if you want to waste ur time and $. read the reviews for the sedu instead of wasting ur time on the maxiglide. my maxiglide is now on the top of my hair straighteners junk pile. i just put in an order for the sedu based on the 3000+ great reviews with before and after pics. am looking forward to getting it and hopefully will be adding to the wonderful reviews.

I am an African American woman and a year and a half ago, decided to go to the barber and cut all of my hair out. Since then, it has been natural. I have tried pressing combs, flat irons and blow driers to straighten my hair when I want a different look (I love my Afro most of the time). All of them do "okay" but the hair close to the roots is always puffy and the slightest bit of moisture makes it curl back up. I visited a friend this week who told me about her maxiglide. Her kids are bi-racial and have the funkiest hair but she SWEARS by the product, so I let her try it on mine. WOW!! When I came in to work the next day, people asked was I wearing a wig or if I had permed my hair! The roots are super straight, she only added a little oil sheen when she used it and I am THRILLED with the results! Yes, some of my hair came out on the combs but this was because I am in dire need of a trim and I did not comb or brush the curls/ tangles out before we used the maxiglide.
I am buying my own and have already recommended it to others!

It's more of a brush than a straightner. It doesn't make hair as flat as the CHI. It's probably only worth $20. It also broke my hair. The steam part doesn't work. I've seen cheaper ones that give off steam. Hopefully I can get my money back! :(

My mom bought the maxiglade about two yers ago, and as much as i read reveiws about it dieing after a few months, ours still works perfectly. Plates have not melted and haven't burned out. But then again, we only use it once or twice a month... and always on the lowest heat setting.
It does pull out some of my hair, but not much more then when i brush it or use a regular iron. The steam has a slight effect on the look of the hair, but it makes it last longer. My hair will stay straight for four days (i usually hate to wash it because i love how straight it is) when usually it curls after a few hours.
I love how straight and nice it leaves my hair and when I do my friend's hair, they love it to.
All in all, this straightner works really well for me.

This is the best hair straightener I have ever used since the past twelve years.THANKS to the inventor.The detangling pins are the BEST.I manage my hair in just under five minutes.THANKS AGAIN.

When I first got this straightener it worked very well. After 7 or 8 months one of the plates wouldnt heat up. So basically it won't last too long.

i bought this straightener at a flea market mall type of thing, the as seen on TV store, y'know. i wanted it so bad cos i saw it on TV. i spent 100 bucks, and i was the happiest child on the planet.
then it broke.
i'm actually pretty upset, it was the best straightener i ever used. i've never seen another with the steam set up, and that was really my saving grace for my giant poof ball hair.
i used it for about a year, and one plate stopped heating. now i must use a 20 dollar piece of garbage, because i bought it at some random place so i can't even return it.
=( i miss it.
The same as a $15 iron......

I was SO hopeful! I have very curly, thick, frizzy hair.
The steam didn't seem to do a thing to help. Like with every other straightener, my hair looked great at first and then within 10 minutes became fly-away and frizzy. I used all the products included and used some other ones too. My hair just looked FAKE. If it had been healthy looking like the infomercial I would have been THRILLED. Getting it straight isn't the problem, it's getting it to look straight and HEALTHY that's the issue. The commercial indicated that the maxiglide did that, but not for me, unfortunatelly.
I'll stick with my $15.00 conair.....

For the last 4 years, I've gone to hair salons to sit in a chair for 2+ hours to get my hair straightened. Today I got my maxiglide. After reading all these bad reviews, I was skeptical. Not anymore! I straightened my hair in LESS than an 2 hours. I'm biracial, mixed with black and white, and I have VERY thick, frizzy, hair. Maxiglide...is amazing.

Okay so i had the maxi glide for 1 year and a half then i dropped it and it broke.I bought another one though. Even though it is expensive it is so worth it. I have probably the most curlyest hair you ahve even seen.I am biracial so my hair has kinky curls all over and is very thick. It smoothes out my hair and makes it however it want it. If i want a flip i got it. If i want it fuller i just adjust the heat. If i want it flat to my head i turn it up. It was my all time favorite straighner

Hello there, I just wanted to comment on my experience with Maxiglide...I loved maxiglide it really does what it says it does and then some, the only problem that I had with the Maxiglide is that after about six months into it the lights don't come on and it does not heat up..I bought two Maxiglides two different times and it had the same problem..it's just that it sorta dies out after six or so months of using it...it's either the lights don't stay on meaning it's hot or one of the plates don't heat up...but all and all I loved using Maxiglide.

it was great the first couple of times really fast and easy then after awhille it made my hair oily n rough and i cleaned it and everything but it was only alittle better never back to how it was at first n after awhile when i warmed it up it smelled like something was burning so i think if u wanna a maxiglide then your only goonnna get good use for like a couple of months i suggest u research more and find something that will last longer but if u think thiss is the right straightener for u it might be but it wasnt for me

ok so this is what happened..uit worked for like a week then everything bad started happening......it would not turn on or it wouldjust fry my hair..i went to a professional hair stylist and they tol me to trash the straightener and gave me a new one for free..it happened agina..this sucks and my friend wrote a good review for it just so that other people ould become victims rtooo..i am warning you..you will be bald when you get older cause like seriously it just ripps hair out in a yeaqr i serisouly lost like half of my hair fom this product.. :(((
the first picture isme with thick hair but it is alread yruineed from the straightener and hten my hair fried so ihad to get it cut relaly short and now i barelyy have al ot of hair...

THIS IS SIROUSLY THE WORST FLAT IRON I HAVE EVER HAD. IT WORKED REALLY GOOD AT FIRST BUT THEN THE PAINT ON THE IRONS STARTED TO BURN OFF. ALL THE PAINT BURNING OFF MADE IT SMELL LIKE BURNT HAIR. THEN IT MADE MY HAIR SMELL HORRIBLE. I COULDNT USE THE FLAT IRON ANYMORE BECAUSE IT MADE MY HAIR SMELL SO BAD. ITS TOO BIG TOO. I HATE 2INCH HAIR STRAIGHTENERS THEY ARE SOO BIG AND I CANT STRAIGHTEN MY ROOTS.

This works great except it stops working quickly. I returned one, then got a replacement, and stopped working again. Does not last much time before it quits heating !!!!

This straightner is not as good as it looks. For me it left my frizzy dryed hair practically the exact same. Its not worth the price trust me. and that water didnt even work. If you ask me that is more like a 19.95 dollar straightner. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

omg!!!this thing is amazing!! my hair has never looked better! i've tried EVERYTHING in the market and this si the only thing that woorks on my hair...i have very curly hair u see. anywayzz this si so great and it hasnt damaged my hair at all! in fact, it has made it healthier! also, it takes only 10 mminutes to finish the job!! u should definetly buy it!
