YES! I have 3 daughters, all mixed with Caucasian/ African American. One is 6 years old and I use it once a week on her hair and every time it amazes me how straight her hair gets. Her hair is VERY course, so I put it on the middle setting, about a 5 and it works wonderful. Her hair isn't breaking or falling out and we have been using it for about 3 months. It also works miracles on my other daughters, 11 and 15. | Childrens hair
I have a two year old (going on three. She has very curly dry hair and is sometimes unmanageable. I've tried straighting her hair with a curling iron but I don't really like using those type of thing on her hair with her being so young. Would the Maxiglide be safe for her hair? I don't want her hair falling out. I just need something for her that would be safe. Please help.Thank you Tammy Jenkins Question posted by Tammy Jenkins Sun Dec 18 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Sandra

Let the girl be curly. In order to make your life easier you are going to burn her head | Is it worth the money?
My hair is very thick and wavy but not like the tv commercial girls and with the wet to straight i have to go over the same piece or hair about 5-8 times before it gets straight and it's getting curlier so i don't straighten it as much. Will this work in one or two strokes? Question posted by Amanda Sun Dec 04 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Samantha

I haven't bought one yet, but I thought you might like to know that applying any type of heat to wet hair (including blowdriers) - but especially something hot which makes direct contact with hair - will singe and/or remove moisture from the hair. Think about it - what happens to water when it hits a burner? It turns into steam and disappears (evaporates). When there is moisture in the air, this is called humidity. So really, by causing that moisture from your hair to float up into the air around you, you are frying your hair and creating your own little humid environment around your head - which, for us frizzy-headed girls, isn't a good thing. Hope this helps! :) | | Reply by Mackenziey

I actually have both irons- Wet to Straight and the maxiglide. I have used the Wet to Straight once, and it wouldn't straigten my hair even after 5-8 times!!! And it really can't be that great for your hair if it's sucking the moisture out. WIth the maxiglide I go over
1-2 times, and it ADDS moisture with the new steam system. It's really great, you'll love it!! IT's deffinitely worth the investment, since cheap irons tend to be damaging and not work | Will it work???????????/
I have medium to long hair it is somewhat wavy but not as wavy as people on the informercial. I want to purchase the maxiglide but i am worred it will damage my hair. will it? Question posted by Besa Sun Dec 04 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by niria

My hair is thick and it looks dry. it is curly and passes my shoulders. my student did my hair friday it looked great!!!! until sunday everyone loved it. it leaves your hair shiny and silky looking. you don't have to put any other products in it and it only took 2 slide per strand. i loved it, it didn't freeze up or nothing.. | | Reply by ashley

I have 3 daughters that are African American and like your daughter's hair, their hair gets very frizzy and out of control. Until now I had to keep paying for expensive relaxers, but now we have the Maxiglide, no need for the relaxers. Yes, her hair will look like she just got a perm. It really does work that good. I know what you are thinking, I was thinking the same thing- that there is no way it will work on my kids' hair, but it did and it works wonderful! Their hair doesn't break off and it looks so smooth and I only have to do it once a week after we wash it. It see it working because of the pins- they are actually straightening each strand of hair instead of just flattening it. Also, if your daughters' hair is as course as my kids', I would start off on setting 5, then you may need to go up to a 6. Needless to say, this product has saved me a lot of money and time. | how do you change the plate?
please tell me in detail how to change the plate and how long does plate lasts? and how do you clean it. Question posted by gail m. lontok Wed Nov 23 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by alexandra

well...you can watch the dvd that's included and it should tell you...
look for two little pegs at the top of the plate, one on each side. squeeze them together and slide the plate out..and to replace it you just slide it back in until it clicks.
to clean it i think you just scrub it with a damp washcloth but i could be wrong. just make sure you let the plate dry completely after you clean it, because if you slide it back in the straightener and plug it in when it's still wet, you could get electrocuted. | Maxiglide crises!!! Need answers!
I bought a maxiglide a couple of months ago for my boyfriend's sisters. When i tried to use it, they informed me that the light did not stop blinking and the top half is not warming up. I knew then the product was defeated. Is there any one else who had a situation like this? How did you handle it? Was customer service any help with the given situation? I beleive the maker/company should at least look into the matter and be nice enough to replace the defected part of the iron.
