No, turn it off after you're done with it. | Faulty power button?
I've owned my Maxiglide for about 2 months and love it. However, the power button seems to be faulty and doesn't catch when I change the settings. I can keep spinning it around and nothing happens. At other times, the intensity moved to 10 and I ended up burning a piece of my hair. Anyone else had a similar problem? At this point i'm thinking of replacing it with something else. I have the same problem. I've had mine for almost a year now. | can i purchase a new plate seperatly?
my maxi glide is awsome and works great but the plate with the pins is just worn out.... i use it everyday i would really like to purchase the plate seperatly but not sure if i can? Question posted by ashley Thu Feb 09 2006 Submit your answer Does it work on REALLY curly hair?
I'm mixed (african-american, & anglo). I have very soft, thick, tightly spiraled curly hair. If I ever straighten it it takes 2-3 hours just to blow dry it and maybe get the straightner through. I have seen commercials and read reviews for this straightner but, I've tried some many things i amlmost don't want to trust it. Can someone with hair like mine tell me if it actually works? :) Question posted by Amarah Thu Feb 09 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Kayla

Me and you have the same hair. I bought the Maxiglide about 3 monthes ago and i love it. My hair looks naturally straight, it is soft, healthy and not all dried out. When I wash my hair it is like i never straighted it. I LOVE THE MAXIGLIDE!! It is worth every penny. And the hair products are a big help like "the end" and "beyond straight" | | Reply by MICHELLE LEWIS

YES IT WORKS, LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE. I HAVE A BI-RACIAL DAUGHTER WITH EXTREMELY THICK HAIR, I HAVE TAKEN HER TO SEVERAL BLACK HAIR-CARE SALONS AND TO THE WHITE SALONS AS WELL. ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, WE JUST GIVE UP ON CHEMICALLY STRAIGHTENING HER HAIR. WE WERE NOT GETTING THE RESULTS FOR THE MONEY WE WERE PUTTING OUT. MY MOM SAW THE MAXI-GLIDE ON QVC AND ORDERED ONE FOR DAUGHTER AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT. UNFORTUNATELY MY MOM NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO SEE THE RESULTS. SHE SUFFERED A STROKE BEFORE THE MAXI GLIDE ARRIVED. WHILE MY MOM WAS IN THE HOSPITAL ON HER DEATH BED, MY DAUGHTER USED THE MAXI GLIDE AND GOT HER HAIR SILKY STRAIGHT, THEN WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND LIFTED MY MOM'S HAND TO HER SILKY HAIR. ALTHOUGH MY MOTHER DID NOT SEE HOW GREAT A JOB MY THEN 15 YEAR OLD DID USING THE MAXI GLIDE, I AM SURE THE SOFT SILKY FEELING OF HER GRANDDAUGHTER'S HAIR REMINDED HER OF THE HEAVEN SHE WAS BOUND FOR. IN OTHER WORDS YOU SHOULD GET ONE!!! MY SISTER AND I WHO ARE BLACK WITH THICK HAIR GET POSITIVE RESULTS FROM MAXI GLIDE AS WELL. | | Reply by Allison

Yes this thing is a MIRACLE!!!! You and I have the same type of hair... (the Alicia Keys, Mya, "GOOD" hair) the kind of hair that you dont know wether to use black or white hair care products. Well this straightener is what you should invest in. I had the same doubts as you but I am a risktaker..and I'm glad I did!!!!! So go ahead and take a chance. | sedu or maxiglide?
I have very thick long hair. It was permed about a year ago and its just about all the way out. I have tried many straighteners and just can't find the right one. A friend of mine has the maxiglide and loves it and her hair was permed just a few months ago. I have also been reading about the sedu and both sound very good. Which one do I buy? WHY ARE YOU PERMING YOUR HAIR IF IT IS ALREADY CURLY. THAN YOU TRY STRAIGHTNERS, AND YOUR FRIEND PERMS HER HAIR AND THAN TRIES TO STRAGHTEN IT WITH MAXIGLIDE. WHATS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. STOP PUTTING ALL THOSE CHEMICALS ON YOUR HAIR. | | Reply by taylor

Re: the previous answer. A lot of people call chemical relaxers, "perms". They both probably "relaxed" their hair. | | Reply by Mailani

well i feel your pain i have thick and curly hair to i have gone threw a lot of straightners. Maybe u should thin out your hair that is what i did and now i got the maiglide straightner it is amazing it takes like 10 min. for me to do my hair. I was going to get the sedu straightner to but then i looked at price range and that is why i got the maxiglide. When you look thow on the top ten straightners the maxiglide isn't on their. I was also reading the reviews people put about the maxiglide and some people said it was amazing like me but some said after a while it didn't work the same well.
well all i can really tell u is to probaly pick what your mine is telling u to pick . | curling hair
I tried to curl my hair after straightening it. It won't curl. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. How do you make curls? Question posted by pamela spiker Sun Jan 22 2006 Submit your answer African American Hair
I am African American with all natural hair an afro with no chemicals in it. I would like to see on some of the info comercials a black person on there with hair like Laruan Hill and India Arie . So you can put the iron through a real test the African American girls on the commercial is ok but the have thick kind of straight hair already. I wont to text it out or see it work on someone like myself before I purchase it. It sounds great. Question posted by Pronda Drayton Sun Jan 22 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Ryan Fox

I have virgin African American hair. I'm currently growing out of a short afro. My hair can be very kinky curly and I was very hesitant to purchase the MaxiGlide for the fear of the teeth in the brush would rip my hair out of my head. Well, I purchased it and I can't express how straight and soft my hair is. I absolutley love it! Get one girl, you won't be disappointed. | brush piece

My daughter is malatto and has very course, long hair. She would have to wake up every morning at 5:30 to spend over an hour straightening her hair with a standard straightener. I got the maxiglide and told her I wanted to try it on her first. We were done in about 15-20 minutes. And it STAYS straightened for the whole week. She may have to do one touch up with the flat plate on Friday's, but that is it. To answer your question, you will save A TON OF TIME!! |
