I have fine hair that is medium length and only the top few layers frizz and curl. Regular straighteners work pretty well on my hair but I feel if they had "teeth", it would go a lot easier and work better. I'm wondering if I need the expense of the maxiglide, or would the miniglide be ok along with the Beyond Straight and the End serum? Basically, is the steam necessary to prevent the frizz? The maxiglide teeth are really nice because you don't have to arrange the hair before you straighten it and it's quicker. And if your hair isn't too long, its not that heavy. I really love the product. | Is it also a wet to dry hair straightener?
can you staighten your hair when it is damp? Is it a wet to dry hair striaghtener? Question posted by Timmy Sun Jan 06 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by Beth:]

Nooo. You can not. That would be major damage to your hair! This isn't a wet to dry straightener! | | Reply by Marisa Melvin

No I have this striaghtener and that is a bad idea. When you try to straighten a damp piece it will steam and burn your hand and scalp. | | Reply by Beth[:

No, it is not. | Longetivity?
Has anyone actually had this straightener for more than a year? I've read everything about how it doesn't last and I think it's because it leaks, so I don't use the steam. But is there anything else that could contribute to that? Does it just suck? Or was it solely because of the leaking and changing the temperature too much? I never used the steam.
I've had mine for about 2/3 years and it now just stopped working.
It wont heat up all the way, I think its because the wires are messed up. | | Reply by Latisha Clark

I owned my straightener for 5 months and used the straightener at least once a week on an average. One day I went to power it up and nothing happen. It completely shut down after 5 months. You have a limited warranty, I'm in the process of returning the Maxiglide back. Also, there's a shipping fee to return the straightener. | | Reply by Beatriz Santiago

I have had the maxiglide since the beginning of 2006 and not only I use it but my daughter and my sister, I have never had a problem with leaks nor has it broken down on me, I love the maxiglide to the point that I dont even look towards my blower anymore. My sister just decided to order one last week. In conclusion I dont regret getting it I think its a blessing. | | Reply by Marisa Melvin

ive had mine for 3 yrs. and i cant live w/o it!!! i use it with the steam and use it on average 1 to 2 times a week for my entire hair. and use it for touch-ups 2-3 times a week. My hair has never gotten fried. never had a problem with it either. although one time i tried to use it and it didnt turn on. however i did the reset/test on the plug and that was it. just follw the instructions and you shouldnt have a problem. | | Reply by gretta

Yes, but it's hard to style with short hair. The size makes it akward! I just switched from the MaxiGlide to the Solia. I would go with the Solia! [: | Steamburst Action
Do you have to add water when you get ready to glide your hair, or can you glide without adding water for steam? Question posted by Erica Wed Nov 07 2007 Submit your answer Sedu or Maxiglide???

Buy the maxiglide its the best I have tried yet I would say close to perfect. My sister has long, course, and puffy hair and when I finish doing the maxi glide on her, she ends up with long, shiny, soft hair you would not believe it. | Leaky Maxiglide
For those of you who say the Maxiglide is leaking, do you fill the water chamber up only half way or full? Someone said not to fill it all the way, which worked for her. Also, are you taking the water chamber out when the Maxiglide is not in use? Question posted by Erica Tue Sep 11 2007 Submit your answer Plate width?

its pretty wide-it wont take you forever to do your hair-and it makes your hair straight not curly | | Reply by Beth[:

Sadly, this straightener CAN'T curl hair. It has ridges on the outside, making it impossible to curl (I've tried billions of times). It only ends up flipping your hair. The plates are in my opinion too wide. They make it hard to straighten. | | Reply by Beth[:

They're pretty wide. It does make it faster to do hair, but the size makes it akward, and it's hard to get close to the roots. |
