I have extremely thick, layered hair. this brush holds on to every layer and I can pull my hair smooth without contstantly going over the same spot. The shape is fantastic and I wondered where this brush had been all my life.I defintely recommend it to anyone trying to have smooth striaght hair.

This brush, used in conjunction with the Solia or other Thermal Ionic dryer, can actually make curly, frizzy hair behave! I also use a flatiron after blow drying. This is the best brush for blow drying that I have found. It has a special patented boar bristles that really tame frizz without giving you "big hair".

The brush does make my hair shinier and fuller but it is more difficult to work with than I anticipated. My hand gets very tired and the grip is hard to hold on to. I have long thick hair and I wish I had gotten the smaller size. I bought the midsize brush but I think it would be easier to work with if I had the smaller size.
very good brush

Good for course, thick hair

I have course, thick, frizzy, slightly wavy shoulder length hair, and this brush is amazing at straightening it. The first time I used it, I threw out my other round brush. This brush GRIPS the hair without needing to roll it (just grab the ends). I am very pleased at how much easier it was to blow dry, and how straight and shiny the results were. I just wish Folica would make the sizes easier to understand and provide some recommendations. I got the 35mm, and was shocked at how big it was, and didn't think I could use it for my length hair. But, because it does such a good job at gripping, it is probably the best choice for me. I can't imagine not loving this brush.
Really a straightener!

The brush really straightens your hair and makes it shiny instead of fried!

I have all the different sizes of the Marilyn brushes. I have been using them for more than 6 months, and these brushes leave the hair straight, but looking coarse and damaged. They are definitely not worth the money. I only bought two from Folica and the other 3 from Trade Secret.
Marilyn should give people their money back.

I like the really large black Marilyn brush with boar hair. These are curved slightly in the middle (inverted The last one I purchased cost around $15.00. It is the best brush straightner I have used and it does not dry out the hair the way the medal brushes do.
Awesome brush

I have long, fine hair, and am in the process of growing out Japanese straightening, so I have about 7 inches of wavy/curly hair, and dry, straight ends.
Everything was so much easier with this brush. I felt like I was in control. I could grab large sections of hair, straighten and smooth them in seconds. And my hair dried so much faster, hopefully suffering less abuse.
I had no idea a brush could make so much of a difference.
For what it's worth, someone had advised me on selecting this Marilyn brush over some of the others, as this one is more suitable for fine hair, whereas the others may be better for coarse hair.

I found this brush to be better than any other quality round brush available. I have fine hair and it can get static-y if I use it on dry hair, but its fine when using on wet hair. In comparison to other brushes, I think there is less static than other brushes as well.
This one actually penetrates!

I have very fine, very thick, very frizzy, extremely unruly hair. I've even had a hairstylist near tears. My mom always said it was like cotton candy.
I've been trying to use boars hair brushes to cut down on breakage but have a problem with them penetrating my hair--it always feels like I'm just smoothing the surface.
This one actually penetrates! I still have to section it, but it handles much larger batches than any other brush I have used. My only complaint is that it creates body--and that is the last thing I need--but I smooth that out with a straightening iron.

I thought I was getting a good, sturdy boar bristled brush. I couldn't even get it through my hair! My hair is thick, but layered and medium length. It was useless to me so I had to return it.
love it!

My hair flips up in all kinds of strange ways if I don't take care when drying it and this brush works better than any other I have tried so far.

Fantastic brush. I'm buying it in another size right now. I love it. Easy to use ... hair does not tangle ... hair looks terrific using it. Hair dries faster with it too. You will not regret buying this terrific brush!

I decided to purchase this brush after my stylist had used it to dry my hair at the salon. It was a risky decision because I always seem to buy whatever my stylist uses thinking my hair will turn out the same. In this case it did. It really does do a great job on my thick wavy hair.
Fantastic Brush!

This is the brush I've looked for all my life! I have wavy, curly, frizzy hair but when I used this brush in combination with "Phytodefrisant" I was able to finally put away my straightening iron!

The brush is okay, but kind of hard to roll my hair in it. It also leaves some static.
